Love it! If you like kitschy dog themed art, you’ll love it. If you love homemade, healthy doggie treats, there’s something for you! I actually bought some apple flavored treats for my pet rats. They can’t have high protein food and these were perfect.
But, getting to the best part… PUPPY! There was a 9 week old boxer in residence and he was precious. Made my trip to Kansas a raging success. The owner of the shop (and the cute dogs) was a doll. I thoroughly enjoyed dropping into the shop.

Adorable pet shop with the most delicious treats (At least that’s what my pup, Augie, tells me)! So much variety, and Raven always changes it up. If we’re walking down the block toward Lucky Paws, Augie insists on heading inside. He knows that he’s always welcome, and always gets generous helpings of the sample treats! Raven’s lovely dogs are always ready to greet with sweet kisses for humans and playful nudges for the pups. Such a fun shop that always has something new! While a bit expensive, it’s well worth the splurge to spoil your furry loved ones once in a while.

I am so happy that I discovered this place! It’s right off Mass Street, and has the cutest things for your pooches! The owner is fabulous and one of the things I like best about her is that she really supports rescue groups and pit bulls, which I am a huge advocate for.
The store isn’t very big, but their merchandise is really cute. They have art work, dog clothes, collars, leashes, bowls, and treats. One of the best things about the baked treats is that some come grain free. My one dog has really bad seasonal allergies so I try to give him as much grain free as I possibly can and he absolutely loves the grain free homemade beef stew biscuits. Some of the stuff is a bit pricey, but I much rather support a locally owned business than a huge chain store.

This tiny little pet palace @ 7^th and Mass is so fun! Everything from the dog clothing to treats are of the highest quality. The quality of the merchandise is only rivaled by the owner an her two dogs amazing hospitality and personalities. You’re always greeted with a warm smile and happy dog’s. The treats are house made with human quality health foods. If you need a snack… just steal your dogs. Providing consumers with such great quality and service comes at a price though. You can expect to pay a bit more than your average chain pet store but it’s definitely worth it. You get what you pay for and here it’s amazing quality and service.

While Petco may have more supplies, it is GENERIC! Lucky Paws is the cutest store for a dog I’ve ever seen. There are vest/​/​coats, collars, art work, dog bowls, and did I mention it’s a BAKERY!
Cordy loves going into Lucky Paws more than she likes the dog park, which she whines about if we don’t go daily. Her little doggy nose goes crazy when she walks in and doesn’t stop until she’s home munching on her newly selected treats.
Furthermore, when Cordy is perusing the various shelves of treats she has a friendly associate that is also on 4-​legs to help her understand where the «really good» treats are! There is always good conversation/​play time for Cordy and myself!
I appreciate that all of the treats are made organically. I’m tired of having to check the labels of the treats I get at Petco or other stores to make sure there are only good hand-​selected ingredients in them. Even better, you can get grain free treats!
Cordy’s birthday was over Christmas so she HAD to have a special treat to take to her friends, and the other dogs loved the treats and kept taking the empty bag out of the trash to get the last crumb.

Lucky Paws Bakery is one of the cutest and friendliest stores in downtown Lawrence. It was one of the first places I went after getting my puppy! Raven was so nice and kind even though Linus was practically sprinting through her store and doing power slides in the back. She didn’t even mind when he threw up because he was so excited to be there. Seriously. So. Nice. The store itself is super cute too. She has everything a dog obsessed person could need to show their love for their dog. They have a good variety of accessories including leashes, collars, dog bowls and beds. They even have decorative pieces for your house and jewelry. My favorite thing about Lucky Paws, besides Raven and Shakti, is the treats. Don’t get me started on the treats. Linus is obsessed with them all and I love that Raven makes them all herself.
When you bring your pup around you can bet on a treat and some pets at this bakery!
This spot is a must stop, not only for the great products, but the great people and the great pups!

The only thing I like more than a shop with a resident cat is a shop having an adorable resident pit bull to greet you when you walk in!
Boyfriend and I were wandering aimlessly up and down Mass. St. this weekend and happened to see a sign on the sidewalk advertising Lucky Paws. I’m always looking for good material to spoil my dogs, so we walked up the stairs and into the tiny little shop. We could already hear Raven, the friendly owner, chatting up a couple of customers inside. We poked around the first section of the shop for a moment to eye the treat selection before heading into the larger room, where Shakti, the shop’s poster girl, was passed out in her doggy bed just inside the door. She woke up long enough to enjoy some love from us before we continued checking out the boutique section of the shop, which housed numerous gift items both for dogs and their humans. Doggie clothes, collars, and dog-​themed art and jewelry were all in abundant supply, and all of it was adorable.
I wasn’t really in the market for anything too extravagant, so for this visit I decided just to stick with some treats for the boys to try. I opted for the cheeseburger flavored bone-​shaped cookies, although there were several flavors I’m sure they would have loved. All the cookies looked like they were made with natural ingredients, and according to the website, they are largely organic, as well. I went with a small bag, just to be sure they liked the treats before shelling out for a whole pound.
When I went to ring up, Raven punched a frequent buyer card as if I’d actually bought a pound, and explained to me that for every subsquent pound of treats I bought, she’d give me another punch. The tenth pound of treats is a freebie. Definitely a good incentive to come back and get more, provided the dogs liked the treats.
I definitely love that Raven promotes pet adoption and donates part of her proceeds to two local organizations with a special place in my heart: Game Dog Guardian, which specializes in placing homeless bully breeds with loving homes, and the Lawrence Humane Society, where I was once employed. She also gives to the shelter in Arkansas where she got Shakti. Anyone who advocates rescuing pets, and especially such special dogs as pit bulls, automatically gets a few thousand points from me!
My only complaint is that a lot of the dog apparel (shirts, collars, etc.) was a bit on the girly side. I have three males, so I’d love to see her stock some more masculine stuff. Other than that, I thought the shop was fantastic.
As for the treats, the boys wolfed them down with great gusto. Luke even came back after eating his and sat pretty again, hoping I would give him another one. I’m pretty sure they approve, and given the fact that I know Raven uses quality materials to make all her goodies, I’ll definitely be going back for more.
