Only lovely Nina knew the right words to inscribe on a sheet cake commemorating the tragic loss of a young son. The aggrieved grandmother, son, and grandchildren stood in admiration around her magnificent creation, took photos, and then devoured rapaciously the scrumptious delight. This appreciative matriarch wrote in her thank you note, «And how about the cake! There will never be another one like it. Tell the woman at the bakery that everyone was awestruck and full of praise.» And I didn’t even mention the two complimentary boxes of delectable cookies that always magnanimous Nina included. This reliable pastry shop is largely recognized as «one of a dying breed,» a true friend of the underclass, and having that rare gift of offering the tastiest goods and knowing what’s in good taste even in the most trying circumstances. Many thanks, Nina, for making this bittersweet occasion that much sweeter.

Excellent cakes! Always reliable to meet your needs, especially for those special occassions! My wedding cake was exactly what I asked for and they delivered it as well!

This place has legit Italian deserts and pastries. I’ve been to both of there competitors. I have to say the customer service here is far better then both. As for the deserts themselves the huge lobster tail and the macaron brownies are worth the drive. The cake I got was a huge hit with ppl thinking they died and went to heaven.
Strong recommendation to try this place.

Their raspberry rugelach croissant-​shaped cookies could make you switch gods! The lobster tails are literally the best you can get and you’re treated like family whether you call or show up.
Seriously…forget Tripoli (Matt’s girls really need customer service training) and Piro’s needs to work on their horrible products just as much as the horrible little kids working there.
I get my kids’ birthday cakes here every year, random cupcake urges are only appeased here (amazing!) and the cookies make you not care how much longer you gotta work out to work them off.
The reviewer with the supposed dry cake that they tossed either caused that themselves or is just unfairly taking out their frustrations. The woman who gave them ONE star because the prices slightly increased… where do you live, honey? The cost of living doesn’t go in reverse and no business can keep their prices from the 1970s.
Fisichelli’s is all around better than Mike’s from down the North End. No joke.

Fisichelli’s has the best Italian pastry I’ve ever had. The cannoli are superb and stuffed to order, and all the cookies are delicious. Fisichelli’s is also one of the friendliest places you’ll ever shop. They will often give you free cookies to try. I also feel good about supporting a 100-​year old business still run by the same family. This bakery is a little gem – it’s worth a detour if you’re in the Lawrence area or even just driving by Lawrence on Rt. 495.

A must try if you like lobster tails, cannoli and real Italian cookies. Some of the best north of Boston that you will find. Fisichellis is a hidden gem, even my friends who grew up in this area hadn’t even heard of it! … and it is still family owned and operated! Win/​win for all.

Ask before you order toppings for cannolis at this place. I have been there several times and know the prices. Today I went only to be told my total was higher than normal. Suffice to say I will not be back here despite how amazing their desserts might be. I don’t like to be taken advantage of.

During a recent visit to this outstanding bakery, I had stopped in to get some cookies for my 87-​year old grandmother. As an entertaining coincidence, I was waited on by another 87-​year old grandmother. We had a lovely conversation about bakery products, homemade always being best, their competition around the corner, Tripoli’s bakery, and how being 87 still alows her to be happy and productive.
Fisichelli’s, a locally ownded and operated bakery is small and wonderfully adept at producting outstanding cookies, cakes, and pies. Thankfully, I don’t live near by or I’d surely be 300 pounds. The adorable older woman told me how 99 percent of their cookies are still produced in-​house. She explained that most of Tripoli’s cookies are brought in and are not made by hand but instead are machine-​made. While I can’t vouch for the accuracy of that statement, I can vouch for the high quality of Fisichelli’s cookies.
Further, each and every time I wander in to this bakery, I am greeted with a smile and absolutely fantastic service. The service at the aforementioned Tripoli’s Bakery is spotty at best. I have heard that Fisichelli’s is opening another location in Andover. As I work in Andover… this presents for me a serious problem: larger pants.

I ordered a large cake from this bakery and had it delivered to a function — bakery was recommended by the restaurant where function was held… I went to the bakery and spoke with one of the owners about the cake order; It was important — didn’t want to leave it to a phone call. This place gets half a star for delivering cake on time and half a star for decorating the cake correctly. Unfortunately, the cake itself was dry and tasteless with a horrid texture — like it had been frozen for twenty years and just recently thawed. No one at our function could eat it and we had to throw it all in the garbage after the cake cutting; I believe I was ripped off — a Hostess cupcake tastes better than the cake I was delivered. I will not ever return to this place or recommend to anyone!

When I was big on sweets as a teenager, this was a place I loved to go to.

All 3 of these were my favorites at this place. I even recall dreaming about making a stop here and eating these a while back, but it was only a dream. But when I used to eat these when I was younger, they were awesome! Greeatest 3 products in the store.
We even bought rum cakes here a few times in the late 1990s, I think. Also very good!

Best ricotta pie I have ever had. Hands down. No question. You know how some ricotta pies have an almost grainy texture? This one is incredibly creamy, really smooth. And theirs has a hint of lemon, which just makes the taste so unbelievably delicious. Cannolis are also hand filled and just outstanding, as are their selection of Italian cookies. They have these almond filled cookies that are just heavenly — so moist, not too sweet, perfect almond flavor. So clearly their baked goods are amazing. But I also love Fisichelli’s because of the people who work here. There is this woman there who is like the quintessential Italian Nana. I just wanted to hug her. Everyone else is also super nice and you can tell it’s a family operation and that everyone really cares about the place and their product. Wish we lived closer to Fisichelli’s, but we’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area.

It’s late Tuesday afternoon, and me and my stupid car go for a little visit to my buddy’s garage. The damn car’s been acting a little temperamental, and I felt it needed an attitude change.
So here I am sitting in a dirty garage, after closing time, but obviously before my dinner, because I am a very hungry girl.
I start whining to my buddy, like an impatient five year old who needs a nap. ‘How long is this going to take? I’m staaaaarving!’ He shoots me a dirty look from under my hood, and with a sigh throws his screwdriver down. He walks over to a small room off the garage, and in a fridge that looks like it hasn’t been cleaned since 1984, out comes a large cake box. ‘Eat it,’ he tells me.
I look at the top and across says Fisichelli’s. I’ve never heard of them, even though this is my hometown. Or it’s possible I did, and wasn’t listening. I do that. But the truth is, I am not a pastry girl. I prefer salt.
I open the box, and there’s one big fat piece left. And I’m going to be honest, it isn’t looking so appetizing. I hate cake and frosting, especially ones sitting in the fridge for a few days. But I am hungry. And hungry girls eat what they can.
So I toss it on a paper plate, grab a plastic fork, and sit myself on a dirty stool next to my buddy, who’s elbow deep in my engine working on a screw that’s disintegrating as he tries to undo it.
To the melody of his cussing, I shove a forkful into my mouth, and to my surprise, this was a damn good cake! Vanilla, which I hate, with a strip of what appears to be chocolate mousse through the center. It’s soft and moist, as if it just came from the bakery that morning.
It’s not overbearingly sweet, rather just perfect. I scrape off a bit of the frosting, since it’s apparently a large glob that used to be a pink and purple flower. I taste what’s left of my least favorite part, and it’s whipped, very light and fluffy, and you know what? Not so frikkin bad for whipped sugar!
So kudos to Fisichelli’s for my Tuesday evening snack in a dirty garage. I may even consider picking up my child’s next birthday cake there. Well, maybe I would if I didn’t bake my own.

Growing up my Nana made me stop here every time I took her «driving miss daisy» on Sundays. Hands-​down the best cannolli around, made to order, ricotta, the works. Screw the North End; drive to Lawrence.
It’s also great for Italian cookies by the pound on holidays.
I stop in almost every time I’m in Lawrence. Don’t let the neighborhood scare you.

Awesome Italian cookies! Everytime my mom’s (Italian) side of the family gets together for a holiday or other special event someone always gets a big tray of Italian cookies from Fisichelli’s. The cookies are perfect for satisfying my sweet tooth!
