Subway

So this subway is located in a very convenient location. For the most part everything is fine with this subway– the people who usually work in the afternoon particularly are very friendly. But today I had an interesting experience. I felt I was ripped off. The girl that worked there today at 10am, and I have noticed she usually works there at that time has no clue how to prepare a chopped salad. I feel that she had no idea what to do. I ordered a double veggie salad as usual and what I got for the same price was half a box! When I asked her very politely if there are two different prices for the same thing because I usually pay that price for a box full of salad and I have bought this same salad from many other subways across Jersey so I know that the amount is pretty consistent. Her response to that was «no there is only one price». I said «then how come I got half a box of salad for the same price?». She charged me and said «oh sorry» and walked away back to the kitchen or storage place as if she had no care in the world. It really upset me because clearly if you apologized you knew that you had no clue how to prepare it. I don’t think she would intentionally rip me off, but it definitely leads me to believe that she clearly had no clue how to prepare a salad and despite me saying that that’s not how i usually get it, she half ass apologized, charged me and walked away instead of correcting the mistake and fixing my salad. It really reflects poorly on this subway and on the manager of this subway as they do not train new employees on how to prepare things that are part of the menu and on how to behave with customers. So I am going to attaching 2 pictures– one is how i usually get my salad which is was half eaten (which has been consistent with other subways) and one that I got today.

As far as subway goes as a chain restaurant — I don’t see anything wrong with this one. It’s nice and convenient and the staff is nice. It deserves more than one star.

Clean store, friendly staff, shady coupon acceptance. Would not accept a «Free Sub» with purchase coupon because I got a regular Steak and Cheese. That sub is considered «regular» on their posted menu, but it’s considered «Premium» in the unwritten rules of the store, and therefore, not eligible for a coupon. There are plenty of other Subways in the area, and that’s where I’ll go next time.
