Showed up with a huge party and the service was prompt. All of the food was great. We highly recommend the chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, and the baigan bhartha.

I had lunch here today with a large group of coworkers and found that the experience exceeded my expectations. The restaurant itself is tucked in a dinky strip mall with not so great parking during lunch hour, but I was still able to find a spot. There was no waiting for a table for even the large group of us(around 12), although that might have been different had we came in a little later than 11:30. We tried quite a few of the dishes from the menu, more than I can outline in this review, but needless to say, everything I tried, I was a big fan of. The waitstaff went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, and was very friendly. We ordered all the food«Mild» and while I’d say 90% of it came out truly mild, some of the meats, and the lentils still packed quite a kick, which i enjoyed as I myself like spicy food. All in all, I would certainly come back again.

Was there the first time today based on the review on the Food Network show… I ordered ‘to go’. OMG…it’s fabulous… Chicken Tikka Masala, rice, garlic naan… Everyone was nice; place was clean… definitely a ‘go to’!!!

Right off the 405, this unassuming Pakistani/Indian restaurant hit all the right spots. My SO and I enjoyed the samosas, an order of chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. The food came out promptly, the staff was friendly and food was absolutely delicious. The outside of the building looks like a regular place but the food truly makes this a five star spot. Def recommend for those craving those Indian flavors.

My boyfriend’s coworker recommended this place since he loves naan and curry. We went on a Saturday afternoon and parking and service was super quick and easy. We ordered the samosas, chicken tikka masala and famous garlic naan. Everything was delicious. We’ll definitely be back for more!

Terrible service. The waiter(probably new) was very rude. He ask for our order every minute with a loud voice«are you ready?!» After the order, one of our was not coming after an half an hour. Apparently, he served our dish at the wrong table, then bringing that dish from the wrong table without apology. The level of spice was wrong on the dish. Finally, our drinks came AFTER the entrée. It is not worth to go if this possibly brand new waiter working.

This became my favorite Indian restaurant around our place! There is a parking lot in the strip mall, so it is easy to find the restaurant and park. We went there soon after they opened for the few times we’ve been there to avoid crowd, so it was not full but still good number of people were eating there. You are seated right away and they bring you cucumber and onion with green sauce. We have tried chicken tikka masala, palak paneer, Tandoori Mix plate, Nehari, plain rice, garlic naan, butter naan and onion naan over the times that we’ve been there. I love spicy food, so I ordered them spicy, but it was not as spicy as I expected. Maybe I have more tolerance than some of you reading this though. I love their chicken tikka masala and garlic naan the most. They are so flavorful and yummy! I also liked other naans. However, I did not like the mix plate, nehari as much. Palak paneer was good and you can taste spinach which you cannot sometimes when you go to other places, but it seemed like they were skimpy with paneer though. I wish there were more paneer in palak paneer. Service overall was not bad. There is a lady who just takes forever to come or get you anything. She just takes her time to walk to your table very slowly and walks back and brings you foods in her own time. I had some staffs who were not like that and more faster service than her. So, the service there can be hit or miss depending on who you get. I love this place and this became my go-to Indian/Pakistani place. If you have not tried it, I definitely recommend it! Foods: 4.5 stars Atmosphere: 3 stars Service: 3.5 stars Overall Experience: 4 stars

My husband told me this place is amazing and I didn’t believe him. We decided to go earlier this week. We ordered garlic nan, regular nan, rice, pashoka, chicken tikka masala, and alloo paneer. The food was amazing. We ordered everything«normal», and it hit a decent amount of spiciness. If you are sensitive to spicy food request that it be made mild. The chicken tikka masala was fragrant and creamy. The aloo paneer was spiced perfectly and was amazing with the garlic nan. Best Indian food in L.A.

I have been to Al Noor only twice and I am not planning to go back. The first time I tried Al-Noor was a few years ago and I had the Chicken Korma. The Korma did not sit well with me and I had food poisoning . I went back to one of my friends recently and since she eats only Kosher we ordered the PaneerTikka Masala with Naan. The Paneer Tikka Masala was very delicious. I also ordered the Samosa with Chai which was mediocre. There were only two people working in the restaurant – one was the owner and the second looked like an employee. The employee was very friendly, however the owner was rude and short. He acted more like an English Professor to my friend than a person running a restaurant. He kept correcting my friend’s English. The good part is that I did not get food poisoning the second time(Yayyyyyyy!!!)

Came here because of the Food Network and wasn’t disappointed at all! Dishes were fairly priced compared to the majority of Indian places I have been and tasted equal or better than the higher priced chains. I definitely recommend the the Aaloo Palak(spinach and potatoes) and the Masala. Both were very flavorful with the perfect amount of spice. Great addition to the garlic Naan. I also got to try the tandoori mix plate and wasn’t too thrilled with it, not because it was bad, but more of me liking the curry dishes more. Drink wise stay away from the salty lassie, unless plain salty yogurt juice is your thing. Overall great place the price and would recommend to people in the area.

When my coworker said we’re going for Indian food, my mind went back to all those times I disliked the taste of Indian food. I agreed anyway because I’m easy-going and if they like it so much it must be really good. And yes, it was delicious!!! ;) We ordered a few dishes to eat family style. I loved the chicken masala dish. Dip the bread in and it’s so good. The saffron plain rice was good too. Just don’t order the shrimp dishes. They’re tiny shrimp. The eggplant dish was good Arrived around 11:15 just before the crowd came. Got our food served quickly too when I heard it usually takes long when they get busy.

What a small quaint place. I was on my way home from OC and the 405 traffic was getting unbearable. I did a quick exit on Inglewood Ave and remembered that there were lots of great Indian restaurants near Hawthorne. After I exited, I did a search for Indian food and Al-Noor was about .05 mile away from the freeway exit. I made a bee line there, the parking lot was small and the spaces were even smaller. But I was still able to get an OK parking space. The place wasn’t fancy or had elaborate decorations and the bathroom was unisex(I don’t like these kind of bathrooms). I got there around 4:30 so it was empty. However, during my 45 minute there, they had at least 6 to go order calls so they do quite a business. I ordered the following: Seekh Kabob($ 10): It has about 65″ pieces. They were full of flavor and went well with my garlic naan. Palak Paneer($ 11): It’s the same as Saag Paneer. I got it spicy so it was very good. Really good portion but not enough chunks of cheese. Basmati Rice($ 4): huge portion! Basmati rice goes well with everything. Garlic Naan($ 2.50): cooked perfectly :) :) I wish it had more garlic so I’ll remember that next time. I definitely enjoyed this place, the waiter, server and cashier(all 1 person). Was very nice and I will come here again.

I never considered myself to like Indian food all that much but this place is delicious! You would never really guess it looking at the place, but it is really good and authentic. I got the chicken tikki masala(one of their most popular items) and garlic naan. The chicken was seasoned so perfectly and were so soft they practically melted in my mouth. The curry sauce was also done well(I told them to only go mild for spicy level). Talk about a good first impression– highly suggest everyone get this for their first time!

I LOVEINDIANFOOD! I love naan, I love curry, I love mango drinks… I love it all. I was really excited when my buddy invited us out to eat Indian, and being relatively new to the area, I had not been to Al-Noor. I had heard awesome things about it, from my Pakistani friend, and I respect his opinion on food, so I was eager to try this spot. The restaurant is not too big, but they had plenty of seating for our party of 5. I believe we were there on a Thursday, and they were pretty busy, but we didn’t wait too long for our meals. My go-to dish is the tikka masala, but I am not eating too much meat these days, so I got the paneer tikka masala(mild), and it did not disappoint. It was creamy, seasoned perfectly, and had a hint of sweetness to it. I also ordered plenty of garlic naan to eat with it. The naan was also perfect. It was soft with crispy edges… yum! It was the perfect meal I needed that day. Sometimes, we share dishes at Indian food, but other times, we just want to eat our own meal. I’m glad we did not share that day, because I wanted my paneer tikka masala all to myself. I should have taken photos, but I just scarfed my meal down as soon as it arrived. The service was also good. They were pretty attentive, though we did run out of water a few times… we are a thirsty bunch! We will definitely be back, and I might venture to try other items on the menu, but for now, I am still dreaming of paneer tikka masala.

I came here the other night 30 minutes before they were closing which is at 9:30 pm. I had 15 minutes to order since the kitchen closes at 9:15. I needed my Pakistani fulfillment so I ordered a bunch of stuff knowing I would have leftovers. I is not that fats! I got the lamb karahi, chana masala, mixed tandoori grill, and naan. The lamb in the karahi was really soft, just perfect, the curry part of it was a bit too tomato based but thats okay. Chana masala was solid, its really hard to mess up with chic peas lol, and the mixed grill was a mixed grill, the bihari kebab was great! I think I would come back here on a weekend to judge how they are during the peak dining time as they are cooking fresh stuff on the spot. I also didn’t like the waiter with the pony tail, he was rude for no reason.

I ordered the bone in chicken tikka, came out on a sizzling hot plate resting on a bed of onions. The flavor was good and half of that combined with an order of naan was enough to fill me up. The chicken was very slightly on the dry side but that was mitigated with a drizzle of the cucumber-yogurt sauce. So much flavor in all the dishes here, the combination of spices is very yummy. The garlic naan could have used more garlic favor, it was so subtle I thought it was plain regular naan. :/The texture was great, the right thickness to have some chew to it. I think in the future I would just order the regular naan and not waste any time with the flavor ones. I had a few bites from my friend’s plates and love the saucy dishes, best eaten with their super long grain basmati rice. Would order spinich or lamb next time even though I don’t like lamb, the sauce for it includes some spice that just makes my taste buds want more!

It’s our first time here and we shared chicken reshmi, chicken tikka masala, lamb karahi, lamb palak and goat biryani among the 5 of us. Everything we ordered is with medium spicy level. We also ordered 1 plain rice(since goat biryani has plenty of rice there already) and 2 orders of garlic naan(my coworker said he saw it on food network recommending garlic naan from this place). A couple of the guys also ordered mango lassi from which I tried a sip. None of the food disappointed. My personal favorite is the lamb palak but it’s better to try them all since everything is so good. The curry dishes are buttery that the texture is almost paste sauce alike but it’s hard to taste the overpowering butter there so I think it’s a great balance. It’s the 1st time I’ve had goat meat and it’s definitely strong and different from lamb, but I’ve tried pork hoof before and this is not that weird yet. Next time I’d like to order a couple of items from the vegetable dishes section. Mango Lassi is a little bit too sweet and yogurt heavy for me. I prefer the more juice like mango heavy version I used to get in northern Cal. #8 on the menu is something nobody dared to order and I think we should keep it that way until… We’re officially sayonara-ing to Bombay Tandoori and Al Hamra Halal Café and making this our new South Bay south-central Asian place.

This restaurant is one of my sister’s familiar spots that she visits often, and she always raves to me about the garlic naan and the chicken tikka masala. Both seem like Indian dishes to me, I am not sure what divides the Pakastani food from the Indian here. She warned me in advance that they are always busy and the service is pretty brisk and not very warm. She told me «I come here for the food, not the service», so I was expecting a few dirty half bused tables, some stressed out servers, and no attention after the food was dropped off. Well, maybe her experiences are because she is always eating here on rush hour, but our experience this time was very pleasant in my opinion. We had ample time to peruse the menu, and picked the bhindi masala and the chicken tikka masala with rice and garlic naan. Both were excellent dishes, I liked the masala sauce to dip the bread in. Service was great, with the main manager(owner?) even joking around with us a lot and checking in a few times. They were only 75% capacity so maybe that is the difference between when my sister comes during the rush house in relation to service. I enjoyed the food here and would order more things next time.

I’m a big fan of Indian food and my friends have recommended Al-Noor for awhile to me. It’s a Pakistani and Indian restaurant. When my coworkers invited me to a lunch here I was excited. I’d never had Pakistani food ever and was wondering how different the cuisine would be from Indian food. At initial look at the menu I saw that they have many dishes that can be found at Indian restaurants. Their most popular item is the ever so popular Indian dish, Chicken Tikka Masala. I was on the lookout for my favorite Indian dish Saag Paneer but instead of that dish, I saw they offered it via Palak Paneer instead. Items that caught my eye were their various kabobs and clay oven specialties. All of my coworkers were raving about the chicken tikka masala and as much as i was tempted to get the Palak Paneer, i decided to order the chicken tikka masala that everyone was raving about. My friends and also ordered some sides of plain and garlic naan. When the chicken tikka masala first arrived, I was instantly impressed with the large chunks of boneless chicken pieces. There was a lot of chicken in this dish! I’m so used to having vegetarian dishes when I eat Indian cuisine that the abundant meats in this dish surprised me. Tastewise, i can understand why the chicken tikka masala is a favorite for many. Al Noor’s sauce of this dish consisting of their special herbs and fresh cilantro was so delightful. It was creamy and perfect over rice and even dipping for the naan. I’m usually not too big on eating a lot of rice but with the chicken tikka masala sauce, it almost seemed like we didn’t have enough rice for all of us at the table. It was that delicious that you just wanted more rice to pour the chicken tikka masala sauce on. The garlic naan we ordered was ok but I found the garlic flavor to be lacking. The naan also wasn’t too warm. It was just ok to me. The chicken tikka masala was the real winner for this meal! I was so impressed with my lunch here that i am looking forward already to my next visit. I’m going to try the Palak Paneer for sure and try out their other dishes!
