I have passed many locations but never stopped. We decided to pop in for lunch on the way back from getting my stepson from college. The place was very clean including the bathrooms! The staff was very friendly but the food was just okay. The BBQ had a vinegar base flavor with a touch of heat which was good. The slaw and potato salad though we’re super sweet like someone used sugar in them. Not sure if we will be back or not because it left a lot to be desired.

I always love going to Smithfields. Food is always the same no matter which one I go to. The staff during this experience were great. Didn’t have to do anything but pay. Food was fresh and hot. Very clean on the inside and fast with service. Will definitely go again if I’m passing through Laurinburg

A decent BBQ joint off of the highway. Came rolling through here hungry for some Carolina BBQ. They offer the typical Carolina style pulled pork sandwiches, served with a vinegar sauce and fries. The food wasn’t stellar. It was a bit on the greasy side, and smaller portions than I’ve come to expect, but the prices were fair, and the service was amazing! The Brunswick Stew was rather bland, and needs something like salt and spice. I’ve never seen such friendly service that is determined to make your visit special. They gave my mom a senior citizen discount without asking for it, they constantly came by to make sure that we were happy with the food, offering to bring us more napkins, refills, a to-go box, etc. The staff was on the ball. The décor was a bit confusing. What’s the theme? It’s like someone went to an art auction and just bought everything. They’ve got old timey photos of Frank Sinatra on the wall, with photos of far off places, movie posters, pictures of NC– it all seemed rather random. I was amused to see that the kitchen sink is in the middle of the restaurant. If you use the restroom, you’re supposed to wash your hands in the dining area, which works. Just not what I’m used to. The service was very fast! A great place if you’re just coming in for a quick bite.

Overall, ok, but the prices are high for the quantity of BBQ. Less hush puppies for more BBQ. Customer service was good.

We stopped for a quick lunch on the way to NC. I got the pulled pork sandwich. Not bad. The pork was tender and came with an interesting BBQ sauce. I put extra on mine and it was quite tasty, not I would consider it normal. The 4 star rating came because of their chicken tenders. On my! They were out of this world good! And they had the best hush puppies I have ever tasted!

Never been to one of these until a road trip to the beach with some of my friends. My BBQ sandwich was decent(I’ve had better BBQ in Lexington NC and in GA). The hushpuppies are awesome though. The cashier taking my order was not very helpful and seemed extra confused about what I wanted(I was a newbie and told her that, oh well). Pretty inexpensive.

Chicken and cole slaw were ok. I was pretty disappointed when I discovered that they pecan pie I ordered was nothing more than a packaged Sara Lee pecan pie. While the food was ok I doubt I will go back

Great BBQ place off 74. It was packed on a Sunday but service still moved fast. Food was greasy but so delicious.

Décor. 5 stars Service. 5 stars Food. 3.5 stars This is a really neat local joint. Incredibly clean. The décor is really cool. Retro Americana of sorts. 50s and 60s music playing in the background. Service was maybe the fastest I’ve ever seen. Incredibly friendly and genuine. Brunswick stew was good. Potato salad was good. Hush puppies were great. Barbecue chicken was so-so. Their homemade BBQ sauce was way too sweet for me. It would remind you of a vinegar-based sweet-and-sour oriental almost. I’d eat there again but I would ask for a different barbecue sauce.

Wow. I travel a lot for work and one of the foods I love to compare is bbq. I couldn’t make it all the way to Smithfield, NC os this had to suffice. I’m SOO glad I stopped here. One of the best pulled pork sandwiches I’ve ever had! I only went through the drive thru so I can’t attest to the ambiance or any of the other food.
