Remind me to sell any tools I don’t want anymore to Superpawn, because judging from their prices, they must pay a mint to people who pawn tools. I went in looking for some sturdy older tools and adequate(DeWalt, Makita, etc.) modern ones. To their credit, I saw a number of each, but for a laundry list of reasons, I left empty-handed and wondering how they stay in business(electronics? jewelry?). Three of the aforementioned reasons were: 1. Most power tools were shelved in their plastic cases on the other side of the counter, and almost all were unlabeled. Short of asking an employee to go through each one, there’s no chance of knowing even 10% of what’s in those cases. 2. There are some tools one can actually reach. The hand tools were generally just jumbled in the same toolboxes as the others that were pawned with them, with no labels or prices to be found. I’m not sure how anyone ever buys tools this way, but my guess is that they’d have to set out any tools of interest on a counter and wait half an hour while the employee looks up and prices each. I actually pulled out a Wilton vise that was sitting on a squashed blank cardboard box, and intended on asking the price. One of the guys noticed it in my hand, and asked if he should look it up so he could give me a price. Another guy said the vise had been in a box, and the price was on the box. I told him that the box was plain and didn’t have a price on it, both of which points he contradicted, so I dug out the box. Lo and behold, we found no price, nor even a sign that one had ever been stuck to the box. The guy who had just questioned my ability to find a price on a box then said he thought it was around $ 250 or $ 300. Yes, a new Wilton vise will often fetch such a price, but this model wouldn’t have cost that much brand-new. 3. Some power tools on accessible shelves did have price tags, but the tags almost invariably said something generic, like«Bosch power hand tool.» They also had unbelievably high prices. Garden-variety circular saws were over $ 100, hammer drills for almost new prices, etc. I just checked Superpawn’s eBay store and found a DeWalt angle grinder for $ 105, and the same one on amazon for $ 119. I realize that some things hold their value better than others. I also understand that pricing is probably about what prices some people might pay, not necessarily what smart people would pay, but unless the only people who walk into pawn shops looking to buy something are all suckers, I’d be shocked if these prices were in line with the pawn business. If you’re up for scouring through piles of disorganized tools of unknown operational condition so you can pay a rude guy just a shade below new price, this might be the place for you. Do you even craigslist?

My first time here and I must say its not a bad place. I feel people on here only left negative reviews because they didn’t get a million dollars for the PS3 they brought in. I would give them 5 stars but they don’t have much space to showcase EVERYTHING they have. The sales reps are very friendly and down to earth, most importantly honest when giving you a price. I didnt walk out with much but the customer service made it worth my time

This place is crap. I sold my Numark NS7FX and they only gave me $ 225 for it. I honestly just needed the money that’s why I sold it but they could have came up an extra $ 200. The sales guy didn’t even know about the equipment but my dumbass boyfriend insisted we sell it. I will never go here again. They lowball you. If we had time I would have went to another pawn shop. My equipment wasn’t even that bad in shape. It had small scratches and was missing four toggles which can be easily replaced for cheap. Stay away from this place or you’ll get ripped off like I did

First I will say this place is sleazy. Another reviewer said this place wasn’t sleazy, her standers are much different than mine. The building is old, it’s next to a porn shop, everything in the store is old and piled on top of everything, the place is a mess. The people who were in the shop were sleazy, some looked liked drug dealers/addicts, as I waited 20 min to talk to a staff member, a old guy next to me was coughing & hacking and muttering under his breathe in a southern, angry old black man tone, curse words and all sorts of vulgar things. It was gross just standing there. Finally when I talked to somebody they told me I was given a wrong price on the phone. Fine, I would get more for my stuff if I donate to goodwill & write if off on my taxes(something that the people in place couldn’t do, because they’re desperate for their $ 25 loans) but the classlessness of the staff member blew me away. He didn’t offer to help me carry my big & heavy box nor could he even hold the door for me! I guess his mother never taught him chivalry, he fits right in with the other sleazy people in that shop. FYI, all pawn shops are sleazy. The only nice ones I’ve seen were in Las Vegas. This place is gross.

Pretty cool place. They have tons of neat items for sale in the store, and the staff there are very friendly and willing to help or even just strike up a friendly conversation. I’ll definitely shop here again, and will probably pawn a few things off to them, as well. I just wish their various motorcycles outside were for sale, too!

I’ve never been in a position where I’ve needed a quick loan until recently. I took my really nice digital camera outfit to several of the pawn shops around Laurel. Superpawn came out on top. I’ve taken 2 separate loans from this place, and I trust them. Even though they were busy, I was acknowledged as soon as I walked in. They were quick at working things out with me, but they did take the time to explain how things were handled and how they calculate their offer. They offered me what I had asked for, the repayment rate is not bad at all(better than a lot of credit cards right now). The staff was all cool. I’ve worked with several different employees and all were respectful and professional. I saw a bad review on here, and felt I needed to put my two cents in. To me, that sounds like a really unusual experience. At least, I have never seen anyone treated like that. Oh, one last thing. When I got my camera outfit back, everything was fine. I had included the original boxes with all the original paperwork separately, and even those came back in the same condition.

They claim to open at 10am but I arrived at 11:30am today(Wednesday) and one guy was unloading stuff onto the sidewalk. The roads were icy this morning but every other business in town was open. The guy was wearing earbuds but I got his attention and asked if they were open. He said, «In about 30 – 45 minutes» and put his earbuds back on. But I had another question so I waited. When he saw me, he ripped his earbuds off and shouted«WHAT?!» I asked if they pawn sterling silver flatware. He sneered, «Yes, but we have to open first!» with an attitude that said, «go away.» OK. It isn’t my fault that you’re running late and I’m not going to wait 45 minutes to find out if you are interested in my business. So I got the message and found another pawn shop.

I don’t sell to pawn stores, but I do like finding a good local pawn shop for some purchases. Reputable pawn guys like these offer some great used merchandise at very competitive prices. Got a great deal on some Dewalt tools here! Picked up 3 Dewalt power tools and a hedge trimmer(on of the cheaper brands) all in good condition for $ 200. Their negotiated prices(down from the ticketed price) were completely reasonable. The best way to tell they aren’t scam artists… I recently bought quite a bit of jewelry from them. I took the pieces to another local jewelry store to switch out a chain on a necklace for one I liked better. Upon doing this, I found out that the pawn store pieces weren’t the 18k gold I was told they were when I purchased them. I called up the store and worked a solution out with the guys since I felt I had overpaid for the pieces given the gold content. I got to keep the jewelry, they still made some money on the pieces, and they have a happy customer who will be returning for future purchases.

I love Superpawn. Doesn’t have your typical pawn shop feel. All of the staff are knowledgable, Chuck is my absolute favorite. The first time I came here with a friend he came out to our car to look at everything we brought so we didn’t have to carry all of it inside. They give great offers when you’re selling things, and same goes for when you’re pawning an item. I highly doubt any other pawn shop provides the same quality service.

This is not your average hole-in-the-wall sleazy pawn shop. Nope, this is the megastore of pawn shops so the Superpawn name is fitting. As soon as you pull up to the convenient location, right off Route 1, you see the rows of bikes and motorcycles. Then enter the store and check out walls of the latest electronic equipment, home repair appliances, some designer bags and tons of jewelry in the glass-encased counters. The guys here are tatted up, young and kinda hot, so you’ll swear you saw them on some reality show on A&E. I had been to a few places trying to get the best deal on lots of old gold jewelry. They were nice, informative and very professional. Amidst all the strange and interesting people that somehow tend to frequent pawn shops, I was able to get quick and attentive service. These guys know their stuff! I left with cold hard cash in hand and even got an offer to walk me to my car because they were closing and I had so much $$$. How sweet!
