I came here twice, the first time for a trim with Sonia and the 2^nd time for wash, condition, and trim with someone else. I really liked Sonia, she gave me good advice for the health of my hair that made a lot of sense, and helped me to choose what kind of trim I’d like. I had old layers and she gave me all one length that looked very good. Months later when I went back she recognized me before I recognized her. But someone else did my hair and it was horrible and my hair is still recovering. This person used WAY TOO MUCH HEAT on my curly hair even though my hair is fine. Under the dryer was extremely hot and I felt it burning my scalp. Then came a hot blowdryer, which she also aimed at my scalp directly and closely. Finally, a flat iron. I was so afraid to wash it afterwards, thinking it was so heat damaged that it would just fall out. Hair was burned off from my scalp from sitting under a hot dryer for a long time. My hair smelled burned for several shampoo’s, too; I couldn’t get the smell out. She also used a lot of harsh pulling while blow drying instead of being gentle. The stylist also didn’t do a good job trimming it, not taking care to cut the longer pieces even with the shorter ones even though I told her I wanted a trim all one length, straight across. I won’t come here again. Or, if I do, it will be just for a trim and only from Sonia the owner. My hair and bald scalp are still recovering from the extreme heat damage.

I walked in for a wash, trim, and roller set. Germania was absolutely amazing from her customer service, knowledge of treatment to provide n most importantly her skills. I absolutely love it n possibly her too ;)
Just kidding, but if you’re picking about your hair I would recommend Germania n Im sure you’ll leave feeling good n sexy!

Love this salon! I’ve been a fan since day one and I’ve been a return client for 3+ years now. Sonia is the owner and she is absolutely amazing! This is a multi-​cultural salon with an experienced and extraordinary team of stylists. I am African American and my service consists of the basics: shampoo, roller set, blowdry, and routine deep conditioning and touch-​up relaxers. Sonia took my dry, brittle, thin hair and transformed it into sleek, shiny, bouncy, thick, healthy hair. My hair always looks and feels fantastic. So happy that I found this gem in Laurel. Make an appointment or just walk-​in –you’ll be extremely happy that you did.

Oh my goodness I can’t tell even describe how wonderful this salon is. Not only do they do great hair, their prices are very reasonable and they get you in and out in a timely manner unlike most salons.
I have been going to Germania for several months and she has done wonders for my hair. As an African American woman who has gone natural, Germania has done wonders at not only straightening my hair, but getting it to the point that it is healthy and shines. I was doing a blow out for several months and it always amazed me that the blowout would last the full 2 weeks even more if I wrapped it. I have had my hair «pressed» many times before and literally the next day it would be a bushy mess. I will say they use a lot of heat so if that is not your thing you may not want to try this place, but for me it works. I recently asked to stop straightening my hair, and Germania was completely fine and gave me this great curly look which I love, especially for the summer.
The salon was doing such a great job with my hair that mother decided she wanted to try it out. She goes to Sonya, who happens to be the owner of the salon and she too is now natural (YIPPIE). Sonya showed her that she didn’t need a perm and my mother hasn’t had one in almost a year. My mother’s hair last for at least 2 – 3 weeks if you get the blowout and her color is always great. As another poster said, sometimes the color does fade and it gets on your pillows and clothes, that happened to my mom the first time, but I think it is just par for the course when you color. But, I am not sure.
Sonya and Germania are the best and they are truly magicians when it comes to hair care and style. I think it is worth for everyone to try this salon.
