Justine Hair Braiding

I have been reading the reviews and I see the comments about the roaches. I called Justine a couple of weeks ago and needed her to do my daughters hair, last minute. She was very sweet and able to squeeze her in. She was finished in no time (Marley twists) and her hair was perfect. She has yet for one braid to come out, fingers crossed. Unlike Stella’s, each and every time my daughter went there, give it 2 – 5 days she is back at the shop getting braids redone that have come out. So, if she has to deal with seeing a couple of roaches in order to get consistently good quality hair styles that last, she will be alright. And believe me WE HATE ROACHES! You can’t always get everything you want, but as long as I get what I pay for it’s okay.

The braiders were extremely fast I was done in five hours flat! Also, I’ve never had braids before that weren’t too tight. They really listened to me since I’m tender headed.

I hope I can give this 0 stars. I showed them a picture of how I wanted my hair and they insisted on one type of hair. I knew for a fact that they were wrong but I let it go and told them I would be back the next day. That should have been the first red flag. When the girl was ready to braid my hair the next day, she said that for the style I wanted, I need to have a different type of hair. She basically said that I needed the hair that I had insisted on the day before! They are the professionals so they should have known better than me. Anyway, I used the hair that they suggested and hoped for the best! When the girl was done, my hair looked HORRIBLE! The hair was all different lengths. I did a twist style and she braided the hair almost a quarter of the way down. The braid at the top was tight and flat against my head and the rest of the twists were fluffy. The ends were straggly and unkempt. I told the owner that the girl did a horrible job and she basically was like «o well». I get my hair braided/​twisted all the time and this is by far the worst experience ever! To make it worse, there were roaches EVERYWHERE!!! I kept my purse on my lap and my legs up the entire time. There were roaches on the microwave, crawling on the walls. When I pointed it out, they were like I know — no worry (with a smile). OMG… DISGUSTING!!! I’ll stick with Stella on Contee Road. At least Stella doesn’t have roaches and her stylist know what they are doing.

Found this shop on Unilocal last week. The owner was able to fit me in as I had called really late to inquire about getting my hair done. She answered all my many questions about braids/​twist. I opted for Marley twist which she was able to complete in 3 hours. She didn’t braid too tight and I’m very happy with the results. She even offered for me to come back a few days later to style the twist into a bun for the wedding I’m attending this weekend.
My only issue, today, is that she charges an additional $ 5 for using your credit card :-(

This place is nasty. They do not wash their hair brushes or combs roaches are crawling around on the floors and walls. Its overall priced high. They are always spealking their. African language

I found this place online after my hairdresser canceled my appointment last minute. I called around 1 and was happy they could get me in. They started at 5:10pm and were done by 9:15pm. I had two braiders. First off the ladies that did my hair did not braid to tight, I was so happy about that because I am tender-​headed. I got sengalese twist for $ 160.
Pro: fast, good price, braids look great
Cons: They charged $ 2.00 to pay by credit card, braider asked for a ride home and followed me to my car (this is not professional in my opinion).

First let me say how grateful I was to find Justine’s hair braiding. I was suppose to get my hair done at another shop that i really, really like but when I finally made it to that shop it was already 5:30pm so I was told it was too late to start my braids.
I was so hurt cause like i said, i really love this place. So I decided to search Google quickly to find some braiding shops that could see me at such short notice.
I called a few and they all told me the same thing. Just as I thought to give up, I came across «Justine’s Hair Braiding» I called them quickly and was greeting by a nice women’s voice whom told me «sure, come right over. We can do braids for you» My life was saved! And they were only 5mins away.
When I arrived there, I was greeted right away and two braiders started instantly. I arrived at 6:00pm and left out the door at 8:45pm.
I was extremely happy with the fast service and even more glad that they even saw me at such short notice. They only charged me $ 160 for individual braids which is $ 20 less than I normally pay at another shop. (The one I really, really, like lol)
But there were a few flaws at this shop, firstly i didn’t like the fact they charge an extra $ 3 if you use your credit/​debit card. Then my braider braided extremly tight and she was very rough with my hair. Lastly I didn’t like the fact that my braids didnt look full. On a scale 1 – 10 I rate the overall look of my braids an 7.
Overall, its a nice place to go cause there reasonable and nice people. I will consider this my 2^nd home if ever I need there services in the future. I’m planning on going back to my other braiding shop first.

This business had been here for 3 years and I have never noticed it. I am thankful the owner mentioned looking into better signing because they definitely could use it.
I, on my way to Wenny’s noticed this business and after searching for a place to do a very particular style I decided to give this place a call. The owner was friendly and flexible which is makes for good business.
Staff here are friendly and quick which is a plus when getting your hair done is involved especially braids. I am proud to say I have found a new spot close to home!
