Dunkin Donuts are typically good places to pick up a coffee and this location was no exception. Situated on the second level of the very manageable Albany Airport, this makes a suitable spot to stop for a cup of joe before going through security. The service was good on the occasion we patronized this establishment. There are a handful of places to sit to enjoy your java or snack which adds to the convenience.

It’s a Dunkin Donuts… What more can you say?

I fell for it twice — last year and this year. I stopped by here to grab some donuts after landing in Albany from LA via Atlanta. I figured I’d surprise my friends again with some donut holes. It’s kind of our thing to buy a crap load of donut holes and be fat asses. So, this time was no exception. I bought 2 dozen or something and when I showed up in the car, my friends were like«Noooooo!!!» I was confused… they had donuts in the car because they picked some up beforehand! Anyway, I eat some of the Dunkin’ Donuts they bought which were delicious. I decided I wanted some of the flavors from my Dunkin’ Donuts box. I ate one… STALE. I ate another one… STALE. Yup, I had a flashback of the year prior and stale Dunkin’ Donuts was the theme from this location. I at least expected some fresh donuts. However, this location is an exception since they have stale donuts at 11AM. Will I buy from here again? No. Should YOU buy from here? Nope. Wait until you’re in the city or if you’re passing by one. Don’t waste your time or money. You’ll regret it — donut-wise that is. Coffee… maybe there’s a chance, but not for their name sake… unfortunately.

Ah, yes, well you’re paying airport prices here, and it is quite small. But on the other hand, it’s on the outside of security so it’s your *only* option for food if waiting for someone, in this the second half of the second decade of the twenty-first century where we take off our shoes for security and pay $ 8 for microwaved breakfast. But, it’s also kind of cute, with the end of the single row of seats facing an outside window, and just opposite the DD there’s a lounge tucked away that has comfy seating, more windows, and lots of outlets, which usually means it’s crowded with laptop zombies, but it provides a nice option for the amenity-challenged.

Convenient location in the airport before security and always seems to be open when you need it. However, it always seems undermanned and overworked. Expect a bit of a wait compared to a normal Dunkin Donuts. Also, when I went today they were out of sesame bagels by 7AM, so that was a but disappointing. Overall, it’s convenient but not the best Dunkin Donuts you’ll go to.
