Being a Las Vegas local, I’m always on the hunt for good craft cocktail place. This is one of the places! This spot has a killer 1920’s-1959’s vibe and offer mixology type craft cocktails on a constantly changing menu. Prices are very reasonable $ 8 – 9 per drink, they music isn’t too loud and there are great conversation areas spread throughout the bar. This place is quickly becoming a regular spot for my friends and I!

So after visiting Makers and Finders for a Unilocal Event the CM Nate suggested we meet up at the Velveteen Rabbit for a drink. I was in right away as the name conjured up what had to be a unique experience. As we walked from M&F to Velveteen Rabbit I was imagining in my mind what I might encounter. Would Timothy Leary be the doorman and was it going to be a wildly decorated place. What I found was a great locals bar that makes the kind of drinks I love. They have unique drinks that you don’t find at other bars. I don’t want something I can make at home I want some crazy delicious concoction to wow me. The Screaming Skull and Hierophant were both very unique and just what I needed after the coffee influx. The Hierophant with the flamed orange giving it a smoky flavor was the standout. I wanted to have another but decided I had better not as I was driving. Their prices are quite reasonable considering the amount of alcohol and quality of their drinks. The interior is well decorated and fits the name and eclectic vibe. The bartenders took good care of us and were super friendly. It wasn’t very noisy so talking was easy and you didn’t even have to yell. It was so nice to go to such a unique bar and have some amazing drinks. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their unique concoctions. Velveteen Rabbit is a perfect place to meet up and have a amazing drink and chat. Thanks Nate for the awesome suggestion!

Went here on a Sunday night and it was a good experience. Decent prices, cool atmosphere, not to busy but not dead. I would definitely go again.

This is a very cool hipster place in the arts District! Beware of the limited parking, parking lot on the side of the building. A nice atmosphere for chill mode but it’s dark inside. Very interesting but nice Decour a very diverse crowd and a wide selection of specialty cocktails and beers it’s a somewhat intimate setting and would be great for a date night!

There’s something amazing about this place, it could be the over all vibe or simply the people who work here! They are all amazing people who you can easily identify and get along with! The bar manager Andrew always gives me great service and great insight into the cocktails he is making! The rest of the crew is just as fantastic! Shu, CJ, and Chris always make me feel welcome and the fact that their seasonal cocktail list is created by the team and is always on point and innovative makes the over all experience that much better! They always have great music playing from their regular playlist to the phenomenal Dj’s and live music in the back! And on top of all that the always delicious PokeBowls that Zia Food Co. Provides always hits the spot!

Wonderful bar with wonderful owners and service! There’s so many interesting and yummy drinks to choose from their specialized drink menu. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate, and the décor is very lovely! There’s a nice outdoor area too if you need a smoke or a breath of fresh air. The bar is conveniently next to a parking lot, but there is also street parking. There was a food truck right outside the place too but not sure how often there is one. The bartenders were also really friendly too. Absolutely enjoyed Velveteen Rabbit!!!

This seems sort of in the middle of nowhere and without a car you probably won’t find it randomly roaming around. From the outside, it is inviting and inside you get that hipster mix of people who are looking for good mixed drinks in a dimly lit yet hip spot. The bartender was great and gave us a lot of great options to choose from. This place was really good for conversation and hanging out. I will say that for a place in seemingly nowhere, the cocktail prices are on par with The Strip.

I did NOT catch this bar on its best night. Been meaning to check it out, so jumped at the chance to have a couple free drinks from the app ItsOnMe. The crowd wasn’t that big when I arrived, but somehow it took forever for the bartender to eventually come over and make my drink. He saw me, yet for some reason he was making other people’s drinks before me. I let that go, but then when I ordered my second drink and tried to close out, he told me he couldn’t get the computer working and to come back. The two drinks were free, so they basically held my credit card hostage until they could figure out their problems. Seems pretty bad customer service to make me come back to the bar again, which was now filled with people trying to get their free drinks. I finally fought my way to the bar and gently reminded the bartender that I just needed my card. His response? «There’s a lot of people waiting.» Finally got my card back, and walked out in one of the rare instances I didn’t leave a tip. It hurt. But they just did not make me feel welcome ATALL.

Went for Happy hour on a rainy Monday night! What a perfect place to be! As the rain came down, enjoying the company o friends in a cozy, chandelier lit, couch filled bar of friendly people. It was awesome! Even though I was there for the company, everyone said the drinks were really cheap. Great place, cheap drinks, friendly staff. How can you go wrong? Rain not required! LOL Can’t wait to go back.

I loved the décor of this place and the ambiance as a whole. We went on a Monday evening and initially it was disappointing to find that it wasn’t located in the heart of downtown(it should be!), but south of it in a less desirable part of Las Vegas. Regardless, it’s surrounded by some really cool antique shops and boutiques and it has its own parking lot, so no big deal. It was pretty dead, but we could have cared less. I ordered the Basic Bitch and it was so delicious. Not too sweet, but perfectly blended and served in a feminine little glass that I loved drinking from(pinky up!). Our bartender was great and I absolutely loved the place. Will definitely be back to check out their new drink menu coming out in the fall.

First off I got to give props to Andrew for always giving me such a great experience anytime I visit. This place is basically the dtlv experience but on a more intimate level. The selection for drinks they have is very extensive. Huge variety of drinks on tap as well as having a decent cocktail menu. Genesee lager for $ 3?! What a steal! The cocktail menu changes every once in awhile to keep it fre$h. My recommendation would be to get the drink with basil and strawberry syrup! On point. What really attracts me to this place is the ambiance. I feel very comfortable here. The place doesn’t get too crowded but at the same time it’s never really dead inside. Inside you can be mellow. Have small talk at the bar or in front of the projector. Outside the atmosphere is a little different. Watch local bands play or just take a seat and admire those cool string lights you wish you had at home. This place just touches on every point of what a 5 star place should be. Customer service, ambiance, and drinks at a great price point. Tip! $ 20 Charge minimum for card! So bring some cash! They’ll appreciate it.

I do like the ambiance of this place. Velvet highback chairs, chandelier lightbulbs made of old glass bottles, and a projector depicting trippy abstract dotted images on the wall(probably for concerts on other nights). You can also play some casino games on a monitor if you sit at the bar, which provided some cheap thrills for us at 25 cents a play. I also like the creative cocktail menu. If you like fruity girlie drinks like me, I’d recommend the Basic Bitch ~ yum! But Velveteen Rabbit loses a star because of the cocktail prices. For a downtrodden area of town, I was surprised to see that the cocktails were ~$ 10 and up.

Phenomenal! Best bar in Vegas for the non club type. Setting is super sophisticated and urban earthy like their drinks. I have never had better signature drinks to be honest and the bartender was amazing! Thanks Andrew! I got the basic bitch and loved it so much I forgot what my Unilocal ritual was! Ah well! Cheers to the Rabbit!

Velveteen Rabbit can either be a great start to your night or worthy for closing out your evening with one of their specialty cocktails as a night cap. The menu have some very unique combinations of booze, bitters, syrups and juices you will never come across anywhere else in the valley and quite possibly the world. At a glance with the one of a kind drink names and contents will have you in awe. These specialty crafted cocktails have had a lot of thought put into the recipes and the results are always delicious and refreshing. On tap at the«Rabbit» are also some very different Tap Beers rarely found at any other«watering hole». Try something different besides Bud, Coors, or the hipster favorite PBR. You might actually like it and get a BUZZ without drinking the entire 12 pack of color changing cans. If you are unsure about a beer that has you curious, ask the bartender to pour you a sample so you don’t get buyers remorse. Their are plenty of chairs and sofa’s for you to sit while enjoying your hand crafted cocktail’s and they also have a Laptop DJ on the busier nights. The dance floor is small and the light show is well thought out. Sometimes the rough décor of the wall will actually become part of the scene. It’s hard to describe so you might have to come and check it out yourself. I dare someone to try the entire cocktail menu in one night. Come here soon because the menu changes seasonally.

Thanks to Unilocal,we found this bar after trying Frankie’s Tiki room, but we walked right in and right back out. Wayy too stinky from cigarettes! The rabbit is definitely a little bit hipster, especially with their $ 7 beers. But on a Friday night the bar wasn’t overly crowded, just the locals. Which was a breath of fresh air from the strip. And no one was smoking cigarettes inside, thank god! DJ was playing awesome music. Great vibe. Would definitely recommend.

Let me start off by saying that Velveteen Rabbit blends in with the buildings it is located next to. Although I have passed it multiple times, I have never bothered to walk in until a few days ago(for a friend’s band, might I add). However, I was shocked at how much I enjoyed my experience at Velveteen Rabbit! You can find this right off of Charleston and Main. I parked on the street and walked, but I later found out there was a(small) lot in the back. The ambiance in this place is a 5⁄5 to me This bar did not feel Vegas nor did it feel like Downtown Vegas. It felt, to me, what was a mixture of homey, relaxing, chill, yet upbeat and fun. I felt comfortable here. Drinks — 5⁄5. The menu was full of very unique drinks, all well-priced. The board also has choices of draft beer. On it, there was a drink labeled«punch!» for $ 6. It was was a very juicy drink(I believe orange, grapefruit, apple, and some other juices) with some vodka(IIRC?). This was very delicious! They also had a cider on the menu that was extremely delicious. My friend ordered a whiskey sour and it had a rabbit on it… cute! :) Service — 5⁄5. The bartenders were very helpful. My boyfriend and I bought drinks all night but wanted to try different ones. There was one particular bartender who worked there, he said he was from NY, who was very kind in giving us a delicious vodka shot! He was also very funny and made my experience at the bar enjoyable! Note: this venue also has a DJ booth along with an outside area for bands. I will definitely come visit again during a different night. This is a hidden treasure, I would say.

I am DEFINITELY going back as soon as possible. This place has been on my list of bookmarks for quite a long time. When we had the chance to go to their first«Pop-Up Brunch,» I jumped at the chance. First of all, it was super easy to find, off Charleston and Main. There is a very small parking lot attached to the building, but it was full when I arrived. Luckily, I was able to find a spot in front of the restaurant, across the street. Since it was Sunday, it was also free. Now, this will be an interesting review for some of you, because Velveteen Rabbit does not have a kitchen or normally serve food. This brunch was(hopefully not) a one-time thing. 2 awesome Chefs from DOCG worked out of a mobile catering truck out back and served an amazing meal. I need to go back to see the actual décor. For this occasion, all of the normal furniture was removed and placed out back on the patio(which actually looked really cool). There were large round tables set up with folding chairs. The event was held to 40 people(and sold out), which was perfect. Upon entering, we were each handed a glass of Moet Ice. There was fruit and herbs on the table to add to our drinks. On the tables to start, there was a charcuterie board(with duck sausage, fresh mozzarella and other items), fresh fruit and pastries. One of the pastries was a bacon cream cheese stuffed corn muffin. OMG! There was also extra bacon cream cheese on the table, which we all slathered on everything(it was really good). There was also a strawberry rhubarb crumble, which was probably my favorite. It was sweet without being overly sweet. Everything was served family style, and there was SO much food. There were semolina waffles with huckleberry compote and honey butter, porchetta benedict with sage biscuits(holy cow!), smoked salmon bruschetta with prosecco crème fraîche and caviar, corned beef hash(yum!), kobe short rib quiche, quattro formagio quiche and salad. As you can see — A LOT of food. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was so freaking delicious. It seemed as if every dish was better than the last. Seriously, very well done ladies! After all of this, there was still dessert to be served! The TOWER of tastiness came out and we were all so full, it was barely touched. The selections were: cream puffs, chocolate mousse cups and chef’s selection of mini cakes. The cost of this meal: $ 50 per person, plus gratuity. What a total steal — it also included 3 beverages. First was the Moet Ice upon arrival. Then we had the«All Hail Mary,» which was Belvedere vodka with tomato, bell pepper, lemon, basil, sage and spices. This took a bit to grow on me, but it was so flavorful and well made. Last was the«Lazy Sunday,» belvedere vodka, grapefruit kaffir lime leaf liqueur, lemon and fresh strawberry. Most everyone said that this was their favorite — it was like strawberry lemonade with a kick. This was such a great experience — I REALLY hope that they do this again soon. Everyone at our table had an amazing time and all said that we would do it again. Very well done! I can not give enough praise about this experience — it was by far 5 star, but since I haven’t actually had a true experience at Velveteen, I am going with 4 stars for now. **NOTE** Velveteen Restaurant does NOT normally serve food. This was a pop up event… They have no kitchen! So don’t go there expecting food of any kind — but they have awesome drinks!
