UYE-Steppin’ Out: MANGIA! Round 4.75 Pizza Party with Chef Marc!

Late review, but big thanks to Nelson for organizing and setting us up with all that yummy pizza! I’m sure my body is still paying for that afternoon, but frankly it was worth it. I was so full by the end, though I would probably say that the price was a little high perhaps because I’m just not greedy enough with the food. It was still awesome to try a lot of different types of pizza, but I’d say the Bianca was my favorite. I’m a big fan of greens on top of pizza. I was hoping we would have seen some more unique creations though. The dessert pizzas were definitely one of the highlights for me though.
Of course, the real highlight is being able to hang out with the other Unilocalers!

I loved the salads especially the caesar salad and the roasted beet salad. Chef Marc welcomed me with a hot chocolate which thickens after being poured. It was like a warm chocolate pudding almost with chocolate shavings on top. Next came the garlic flat bread-​oh more garlic please! Wonderful! Then we had an endless tasting of margherita, bianco, and roma pizzas. But the best of all was the Chef Marc Special featuring tomatoes, spinach, mozzarella and meatballs. Dessert was the strawberry and marscapone pizza. The gelato I tried was pumpkin and chocolate from Art of Flavors and that was how I finished out my meal. Oh my what a fun day with the Unilocal crew!

The last time I had a pizza party was back in High School, 9^th grade, Spanish Class. You know, the typical Pizza Hut delivery pizzas, throw in several liters of pop, and that’s a pizza party.
This however, was an elevated Pizza Party! We started out with many different kinds of salad (Arugula, Roasted Beets, Chopped and Caesers). They were all good, but the chopped salad was my number one. Earl loved the beet salad.
Then we got pizzas. Naples, Bianco, Roma, and this pizza with sausage that was Chef Marc’s creation. At this awesome event, 6 Unilocalers got to make pizza, stromboli, calzone, in the kitchen area with the professionals.
Arvin made a pizza and Earl said that was his favorite. It was indeed pretty darn good. Drew, our very own CM made a stromboli! How awesome is that? I hope I get to be one of the lucky Unilocaler next time to try making something.
When everyone was ready for something sweet, Chef pushed out delicious dessert pizzas. OMG, both the buttery peach pizza and the strawberry pizza was so good. Yep, no one can imitate what Chef Marc did with these ones. Yum yum yum. But we didn’t stop there. It was Gelato time. And not just any Gelato, but gelato from Art of Flavors! Chef Desyree’s creation! I got the sweet potato and marshmallow and café flavor. I returned shorty and got an affogato with a scoop of café.
Pizza Party was awesome and I can’t wait until the next one. Thank you to Nelson and Sylvia, Chef Marc, and the awesome staff of Novecento for making the Pizza Party happen! You guys rock!

Big ups to Nelson and Sylvia for hosting this event. It was all too simple. Sit, eat, eat more, win a chance to make a pizza and then eat gelato. Glad I got to hang with a great crew, including some new peeps. On to Novecento…
Chef Marc is way into his craft. The ingredients are all fresh and that oven, holy, it gets hot. There’s an art to rotating all the pies and calzones so they don’t turn to flames. I put a calzone in there and almost set it on fire after 15 seconds. All the salads we had were solid and as for the pies, my faves were the original margherita, the Chef Marc special and then the bianco. You will be satisfied and smiling after ordering any of these gems.

I can’t resist pizza, ever.
Our party of Unilocalers took over the place. Chef Marc and staff were very welcoming and accommodating.
I loved the hot chocolate, the salads, the garlic bread, the assortment of pizzas, and of course the gelato.
Seeing a handful of Unilocalers make their own pizzas was the highlight of the meal for me. I worked at Round Table Pizza in college and I think everyone should get to experience making their own pizza.
Good food, good friends, good times. Thank you to Nelson for setting up the event.

First off, big thanks to Nelson for setting this up — the event was well organized, food was plentiful, and all the local Unilocalers were friendly and welcoming, something very much appreciated to «the new guy» as I’ve only been in town for 2 days.
Secondly, thanks to Marc and the team at Novecento — a separate review will be written for the restaurant, but having now visited Parma solo and Novecento for this event I’m convinced that Marc is one of the most underrated chefs in a city full of chefs who fly under the radar due to the superstars on the strip.
I look forward to future Unilocal events and to more of Chef Marc’s cuisine in the near future.

Novecento recently opened up here in Henderson and our family has been fans of this place for a couple months now. So it was a no brainer when Nelson set up the UYE. Thank You Q’s!
Thanks Chef Marc and crew for also hosting our group. We had hot chocolate, pizzas, including my favorite The Roma, had some salads I haven’t tried yet. Definitely ordering that beet salad in the future. Had the opportunity to savor new gelato flavors! Who knew I would like savory gelato Sweet Potato and Rosemary w/​olive oil. Brilliant!
Good food and great company! Had a nice time catching up with everyone!

Sorry that I’m not sorry I’m getting the FTR. Apparently Unilocal has safeguarded people against getting the FTR if the review is one sentence long by just making it a tip instead. Pizzas are delicious, the Qs are excellent at planning this series as always, and the service is excellent. Xox love u Novecento!

26 Hungry Unilocalers came out for a pizza party only Chef Marc and Team Novecento could pull off!
After we were all welcomed with a cup of hot chocolate prepared by Chef Marc,
we had an all-​you-​can-​eat feast which consisted of the following:
SALADS:
Caesar, Arugula, Roasted Beet, and Chopped with Garlic Flat bread
PIZZAS:
Margherita-​Tomato, Basil, Bufala Mozzarella
Bianco– Olive Oil, Garlic, Basil, and Mozzarella topped with arugula and Truffle Vinaigrette
Roma– Olive Oil, Garlic, Mozzarella, Pancetta, and an organic Brown Egg
Chef Marc Special-​Spinach, Tomatoes, Mozzarella, and *Meatballs
*Meatballs were done with a ground up look from the wood fired oven which is the ONLY cooking source in Novecento (they don’t have any gas stoves)
Lucky Unilocalers Norm K., Unilocal Las Vegas CM Drew A., Arvin C., David V., and Michael U. got to make their own customized pizzas and calzones which was not only a fun, but educational experience that they all came away with! The Sweets came next, where we got to enjoy a Strawberry and Mascarpone Dessert Pizza as well as a Peach and Mascarpone Pizza which was very delicious without being too overly sweet!
Also available was an assortment of gelatos by another local chef, Chef Desyree Alberganti of Art of Flavors. Unilocalers got to choose flavors like Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Rosemary, Sweet Potato, Marshmallow, and Burnt Caramel, Chocolate and Chili, Pistachio, White Coffee Bean, and Bombolini, which is like biting into a glazed donut… OMG!!! I should’ve turned it into an Affogatto like a few Unilocalers did!
It was another great success in the «Steppin’ Out» series, and BIG MAHALOS to everyone who attended, Thank you to Chef Marc and The rest of the Novecento Ohana for hosting us once again, and stay tuned for the next installment of MANGIA! at Parma, and another Pizza Party at the future Novecento Pizzeria on Fort Apache and 215(close to Archi’s Thai Kitchen) ALOHA!!!

I can always count on Nelson and Sylvia’s UYEs to be great events and this was no different. Nelson posted the event awhile ago. An all you can eat pizza and gelato get together at Novecento Pizzeria, Chef Marc’s second pizza location in the Las Vegas Valley, this one in Henderson.
We started out with some salad – roasted beat and arugula. Both were very good especially the roasted beet. The cheese with the beet salad was superb!
Then began a succession of pizzas with different toppings. We ate and ate and ate. Part of the UYE was that several people were going to get to make their own pizza. My name was drawn and I went first. For some of the time, I felt like I was in an I Love Lucy movie. The crew were really good and I learned a lot on the making and then the baking of the pies. Chef Marc explained the fire inside the oven and I used a long metal tool to turn the pizza so it didn’t burn on one side and not get as baked as it should on the other.
After eating so much pizza, it was time for gelato. I had two flavors, rosemary and extra virgin olive oil and sweet potato with toasted marshmallow. They both were excellent!
It was a fun time with fellow Unilocalers. I met some knew people and saw some good friends I’ve known for a few years.
The staff at Novecento was superb! Everyone had a smile, they treated me nicely knowing that I didn’t know spit about making a pizza the right way, and we had a lot of laughs, good food, and fine camaraderie.
Now that we’ve eaten so much pizza for lunch we’ll have to do a hike UYE and work off some of the carbs we ingested!
