Sweet Beginnings Midwifery Care

You know the feeling when you are at the doctors office waiting, waiting in the waiting room, waiting in the exam room, waiting for the doctor, either your doctor or the next available, just to be met with a blank uninterested face asking you the same questions he asked the last 20 patients, jotting down the answers you give and replying with the same treatments and measures he gave to those same patients before. Not knowing if he cares about you or understands your concerns or if your just the last of the 20 patients and he’s ready to get home, Marvy never made me feel that way, because I mattered. not only was I her patient, but she made me feel like a friend, my concerns mattered, my time mattered, the health of my baby mattered. I never felt like a number or as if I was being rushed, she took her time and made it apparent that she was there for me in my most vulnerable state. Today I have a beautiful healthy 7 month old baby boy and I could not have done it without her. If I ever decide to have another, without hesitation she will be my midwife. I love her and you will too!

Marvy is the BEST midwife in Las Vegas! She is always there when you need her (she will answer her phone while on the treadmill. She takes her time with her patients during check ups and she is the most caring and compassionate person I have ever met. We all love her and I am so blessed that she has birthed both of my children!

The last birth was so fast, after having my water ruptured for many days, in which you gave me all the support (emotionally and physically as I needed them). IT was the best experience ever. You gave me all the support we needed during the prenatal checks and tests, always answering all our questions. My kids loved coming to the check ups, assisting you during measurements of baby, making them feel so special, too.
I am so glad that I found you some years ago. I knew, that you are a very competent midwife, having the knowledge what to do. You helped me turn successfully my baby, so I had NO breach birth at home, even when I was not afraid to have one in case that would have happened (as it has happened before when I lived in MD). Also knowing that you could have helped me with that, took away any fear.
Marvelys is truly the midwife anyone is looking for. Also the postpartum time with you was wonderful. You took care of assisting me to have success with breastfeeding. For the first time, I could breastfeed over 12 month. At first I had difficulties, as the baby did not gain weight so fast, but you had great tips, how to get my milk fatty, and it worked. Also assisting me with clocked ducts and right nursing position. I could write on and on about all the good things you have been doing! I praise God for you.

During my pregnancy, labor, and delivery, I had complete confidence in the skill and care of Marvelys Lopez. I suffered with a regular OB for the first trimester of my pregnancy, always waiting in a waiting room, having to take time off of work for every appointment, spending 5 minutes with a doctor, and not being given many choices. That was not for me, so I looked up a home birth midwife, and God must have been smiling on me when I found Marve. She has attended over 2000 births. She worked around my schedule to make appointments, never made me wait more then a few minutes, answered my questions and concerns (even gave me her number and requested I call day or night for any reason!), and honored my every request during my son’s birth. She gave my husband and I the confidence and information needed to define what our birth experience should be like, and encouraged us to do what was right for us. She is respectful, kind, knowledgeable, and the best healthcare provider I have ever met. I trusted her with my life and the life of my child, what better compliment can I give? Our son’s birth was a blessed experience, and I love that an hour after he was born I had showered and was napping in my own bed, cuddled up with my newborn, with no interruptions. I know that home birth is not for everyone, but it was right for us, and if my husband and I have any more children I would be honored to have Marve be our midwife again.

Marvelys Lopez does her job very VERY well. Absolutely loved the attention and care she gave me. Not just that, but the advice and knowledge that she has is just amazing. I had a successful VBAC home water birth on 09÷06÷13. It is such a wonderful and different experience you have with a midwife vs an OBGYN. I would totally recommend her to anyone who is looking for a midwife. She is also bilingual, speaking Spanish and English. :)
