Shutters Cheap

Job is finally completed after 3 months, 6 days.
Long story short is that nothing was completed within the time estimate. I was never proactively notified of revised delivery dates or delays. Every bit of information I got was only because I kept bugging them.
A part was damaged in the original order and I was given an estimate of a week for the replacement. In reality it took 24 days. The first replacement came in too short (possibly the manufacturers fault) but the installer didn’t check it so we didn’t find that out until he came to install it. Then a new replacement had to be ordered. After insisting that the company get an accurate delivery estimate from the mfg I was told to expect it the following Tuesday or Wednesday. On Friday I finally got a call from the installer that the part was in. I gave him a list of my available times the following week for install and he wanted to just call on Monday to fit it in when he was available. I had to insist on setting a specific appointment (Monday at 3:00) On Monday at 12:00 he texted me and wanted to come install the part. I told him I would be there at 3:00 as we had scheduled.
They were late to every appointment. Initial estimate for completion was 4 – 5 weeks for order placed on 16 June, 2015. Project was finally completed on 21 September, 2015 — 3 Months 6 days.
Their name says it all. Yes they were the cheapest by a good margin, but I wish now I had spent the extra money and maybe gotten better service. I have also noted several other Unilocal reviews with very similar experiences.

Just like the other reviewers, if you decide to use these guys be prepared for a really long time for completion. My family and I have used these guys 3 times and never had them once complete on time. It’s either the measurements were off and they had to reorder, parts were missing or broken and they had to reorder, or some other reason. Always an excuse. Only after repeatedly calling them will they call back .The end product is nice. Customer service horrible.

I had the same experience as another reviewer in regards to slow, slow, slow time for completion. Although I was initially quoted 8 weeks for completion, It ended up taking 6 months from order date to final installation. The delay was at first due an installer making an error in measurement of the windows, and then the wrong stain color. Once the proper size and color shutters arrived and were installed, they were beautiful. The price is reasonable compared to competitors and the final outcome is very nice so it may be worth the wait and or the chance that yours will only take 8 weeks if no mistakes are made. In the end, it was a nice product.
