Richter Lawson MD

Dr. Richter was extremely condescending and spent very little time with me during my appointment, never even giving me a chance to ask questions or voice my concerns. He also blantantly lied to me and my boyfriend stating that we should use condoms because semen is dirty and harmful to my fetus’s health. His staff was very rude and unprofessional. The receptionist was on a personal call while I was at the desk responding to person questions. While I arrived early to my appointment, I waited nearly an hour to actually be seen. It’s unfortunate that women in Pahrump are limited to just two choices for an OB doctor, but I know I refuse to be treated inferiorly and will certainly NOT let this jackass deliver my son.

Dr. Richter is an old school Dr. He is a no fluff sort of guy. He delivered our lil boy and I’m glad he did. His office staff needs work, but if you’re looking for an honest Dr who does care, he’s the guy. He paid attention to weight gain during pregnancy and found out it was due to diabetes. He sent me to specialist to ensure a safe delivery. He talked with me and my husband about our concerns regarding a c-​section and assisted me with all my after care needs. He’s still my gynecologist and if we decide to gave another child; he’ll be our Dr again.

Worst office visit I think I have ever had. First, my appointment was for 10am. I get there at 9:30 to check in. Front desk doesn’t even acknowledge me and I sign my name on their sign in sheet. Half hour later at 10am, I check with front desk as normally there Is paperwork to fill out if you are a new patient. The front desk person tells me that my appointment is actually for 11 and that they do it an hour a head of time scheduled to fill out paperwork. Well, the paperwork was all online, which I had already done. So I was somewhat pissed. Then she says that she needs my insurance card because they had not gotten auth from my insurance. I called them last week to provide the info over the phone to make sure it all got taken care of. So finally around 10:30 I get to go into the room to be checked out. I had brought prior lab results as I had lab results done last week and a couple of months prior with another physician. At 11am, I hear the doctor (Dr. Richter) outside my door «what is all this!» in regards to the labs I brought. I had two things I wanted to see the doctor about. He came in and started talking about crap I did not care about. I advised I had an adrenal gland taken out 1 year ago and that it may effect some things with hormones, etc. He did not even know what adrenals were. RED FLAG… So then I advised that I had been diagnosed prior with a condition in which I had my records with me and I needed medication refills. He said «well you better tell me what you want cause I need to get to the hospital» he then walked out of the office. I was horrified. I was in his office for less than two minutes and all the main concerns I had were not even asked or cared about. He walked me out and started ordering lab work from his nurse. I got really mad. HELLO, I JUST GAVE YOU MY LABS. I had the lab work done last week by a prior doctor. same ones he was ordering. IDIOT. I WALKED OUT. Never have I been so felt non important. Worst doctor of all time. I called the office and asked for my co-​pay back. This place is a joke. It appears to be a puppy mill for Medi-​caid patients that don’t speak English. Apparently I am too White or well educated for this guy.
