The PJ5k is one of my all time favorite fun runs because the course is set along the Vegas holiday themed attraction, Glittering Lights. The PJ5k ushers in the holiday spirit and is incredibly festive(it’s usually held in late November). Runners are treated to thousands of lights and displays as they traverse the course. This is the third time I’ve participated in this race, and I can’t recommend it enough! There’s been a Groupon available each year — this year it was $ 19. During the pre-race festivities, Santa and Mrs. Claus, Elvis, and the Coca-Cola bear made an appearance. There was also a local band singing on a small stage and quite a few holiday props scattered about for plenty of photo opportunities. Post-race festivities were even better! Runners were handed a candy cane at the finish line and treated to a spread of desserts. Volunteers handed out water bottles, milk, and chocolate milk cartons to accompany these treats. Runners also got to take a home a free photo souvenir. The past two years, registration included a t-shirt. There were no t-shirts this year, but I didn’t mind. The race is still timed and well organized. It’s so worth $ 19! And even better, the money goes towards a good cause. Unilocal100CHALLENGE2015: #252
