If shopping at an independent guitar shop involves being condescended to by a couple of guys with bad attitudes and horrible taste in music, Guitar Center it is! I grew up going to Mandolin Brothers in Staten Island, NY. Do a google search on Stan Jay if you want to find out how a high end guitar shop should be run. It involves respecting your customers, having a sense of humor and creating an atmosphere. Not just having a line of credit with Fender/Gretsch and a chip on your shoulder. I reviewed your shop b/c I want to let actual players know that this place is not worth a trip when in Las Vegas. Millionaires with giant guitar collections that they never touch would probably love this place.

If you’re looking for a top notch guitar store in Las Vegas this is the place. Their prices are reasonable and they are very knowledgeable. If you want to support a local company. Then go to J&E guitars.

my son and i(both bass players, although son is a pro and i am barely qualified to carry his amp head) always try to check out local music stores on vacation. J&E does not disappoint — they have some outstanding vintage inventory, great new stock guitars and a nice, open room in which to audition gear. Serious collection of boutique pedals too. Many places cast a shadowy glance on people who come in to audition and«just play» but Jesse cut his teeth at Rudy’s in NYC and knows that players become buyers… and he was willing to just«talk guitars» for a while with some tourists. Can’t ask for a better experience. Prices seemed very reasonable for the quality of the axes and it was a pleasure not to be pressured. When I’m in the market for that 1950s Gibson EB-2…i know where to find it.

I went here last minute as my guitar needed a desperate setup due to a scheduled last minute recording session. I quickly regretted the decision. I asked if the guitar tech could put on Ernie Ball 12’s for my guitar, the tech took the liberty to use strings that I had been saving for my 8-string guitar. These were not the strings I had asked for to be put on, and he did modifications to my guitar I did not approve of. His response? «Well, you didn’t complain when you played it.» The nut on my guitar is sawed to a point I can’t put thinner strings on. I have adjusted the neck and saddles on my guitar, to no avail. Unfortunately, my guitar is currently unusable at the moment till I can buy a new nut as well as pay for a proper setup by someone more professional.
