Freezing Lakes Pool Service

Freezing Lakes is great. ive been using them for 5 years. they come once a week, I hardly ever need to talk to them, and the two times I had an emergency (over the 5 years), Max had his people right there, with no extra charge!

Earlier this year, Freezing Lakes Pool Service was supposed to service my pool. I had called the owner, Max, on Tuesday that week, explaining that my pool was getting some algae and that I wanted him to service it one more time before I moved out. I asked if he could come the next day, but he said that he was busy and that he could definitely come on Saturday by 12 p.m. since he would be in the area. I asked him if he was sure that the pool would be OK if I waited that long and he said not to worry that he would be there and take care of it. He sounded very friendly and gave me no indication that he would not show up.
However, when Saturday came around, he never did show up. He didn’t even have the decency to call and let me know that he would not be coming by. When it started getting closer to 12 p.m. when he promised he would come by, I called to ask if he was still coming. I got no return call. Then, it was after 12 p.m. and I texted and called again asking him if he would be coming out. Again, no response. I don’t think the jerk every planned on coming out.
At that point and for waiting a couple of days, the pool had already turned a yellowish green. Had I known that Freezing Lakes would not come out, I could have called another pool service company to service my pool before it got worse. Until this day, I have never heard from the owner. This is the worst kind of business person to do business with when they don’t have the decency or courtesy to respond. There was never any kind of problem that I had with him to cause him to not come. If there was any problem, he should have let me know instead of promising me he would come out.
Another thing about this company is that when I did find a reliable service company to come out, they scrubbed the sides of the pool of which I was told by Freezing Lakes Pool Service told me that those areas could not be cleaned. I realized then that he was just lazy and lied about that.
Also, on two occasions when I was home in the past when pool company didn’t know I was home, I noticed that the owner only spent 5 minutes on the pool. He also didn’t take care to clean up after himself. The first time he serviced the pool, he was sloppy and left a long trail of chlorine. I had to call and ask him what it was and to clean it.
Overall, this company provides poor service and lacks professionalism. Beware of this business. There are plenty of pool services in the area that you don’t have to settle for this type of scum business.
