bartenders are assholes, drinks are weak. even the house drinks, time and time again. up until tonight everything was typical trendy bar behavior. but tonight i asked for a stoli and water, with ice. the female bartender downstairs presented me with a $ 16 check and a half full drink. I took a huge gulp and realized it was all vodka and the bartender said I asked for a rocks pour and charged me for a double. since when is a rocks pour(1.75) equal to a double shot pour(2.5)? got charged for the 2.5, received the 1.75 without water. like cmon, that’s basic food and bev knowledge. really disappointed as the bartender gave me tons of attitude. tipped her 20% anyways. gave an extra star for ambiance and killer live entertainment.

I came here for my friend’s wedding reception. They reserved a section on the rooftop. The views, vibe of the crowd, and fantastic music made for a memorable night! The crowd was respectful when the Dj announced that the bride and groom were going to have their first dance together. Everyone cleared the dance floor and cheered the couple on! The energy was amazing! Nothing but love in the air! Loved this venue for an intimate wedding! The roof top string lights, brick exterior, and chandeliers, created an industrial vintage feel. Overlooking Freemont from the roof was breathtaking. Open bar for an hour for our party and the drink supply was expansive and everyone was happy! Def give Commonwealth a shot if you want to party with Vegas locals and get away from expensive prices and all the hoopla of the Strip!

Great roof top club with inexpensive drinks. The music and atmosphere are great! Had so much fun here!

Thursday night … Music(live DJ) is on point and the environment was great. Found a little spot in the corner. Had a few drinks that were pretty good. This place is pretty cool. We stayed downstairs to just chill. Now upstairs was live and turnd up!!! I didn’t feel like turning up tonight. Brian’s note to you —– if you have any issues, please take them up with the management. They will get right on it. Good looking out Tim!!!

I’ve been here a few nights and I must say I enjoyed myself! The last time I went it wasn’t that crowded, which gave me more room to dance. Downstairs hardly had anyone down there, but it was a Thursday. One time I went and there was a line to go upstairs and hardly any room to walk around. All depends on the night you go. I love the atmosphere upstairs on the balcony. They have bistro lights, which are one of my fav. A dj is up there, too, so the music is different than downstairs. More of a backyard party. I was feelin’ it! I didn’t order any drinks here. I had enough by the time we got there. However, one of my girl friends did order a drink and it was so good! It had strawberries in it. I can’t remember the name of it. There is a «secret room,» Laundry, that those who have the number can get details of whats going on there. I have yet to try it out as I just got the number.

Always fun here. A staple whenever my friends and I hit DTLV, which is often. Want just the right amount of turn up? Stay downstairs. Wanna get reaaally turnt up? Go upstairs. Haha. Oh, and they make good Moscow Mule, enough to warrant a mention. …becomes 5 stars when you’ve had a bit too much to drink hehe.

Have to say last night’s groove sess was a blast. The lively, hipster bar sets as a scrim on the rooftop features a DJ and a medium sized dance floor with a bar overlooking Fremont and 6th. Downstairs is a dark and swanky with a large bar with foxy old fashioned dish and bulb lighting. Ample seating throughout. There’s a «secret» room that you can get the password for ahead of time. It’s poised as a fun take on a speakeasy. We did not go in, but sounds cool to try out sometime. Commonwealth is absolutely that cool, hipster vibe in the Container Park area that is a welcome venue in LV in my opinion, opposite the lame casino scene.

I wanted to love this place but I can really only say I liked it. Good selection but something is missing from the drinks. Overall cool décor but something about it seems stuck between being a chill cocktail lounge and a club, and you can sense the dichotomy in the patrons, nobody seems quite sure what to do. Many people seemed to wander in, stay for a drink then leave. Most people the night we went were waiting for Laundry Room, not actually there for Commonwealth. Overall not a bad place but seems to try to fit too many genres into one place and ends up being a jack of all trades, master of none.

Alright. I gotta do this some justice from my second experience down here. Similar situation as before… Boyfriend and I were waiting for a dinner table at a nearby establishment, plus family wasn’t anywhere near Downtown, but that gave us more time to try a few new drinks and interact more with the bartender. Even got to listen more to the same artist on his guitar. Definitely liked the vibe of the music, and we got there early enough to have a seat at the bar before people started showing up. Hahaha… Always like beating the rush. Still have friendly bartenders that checked up on us during short stay. Also have to admit that their Moscow Mule has a distinct flavor to it that makes it stand out from the average. No idea how to describe it otherwise, and I liked it.

One of our go-to spots in downtown for no particular reason, Commonwealth offers okay beers on tap and mediocre cocktails. If you can get here early and find a place to sit, it can be a cool place to hang out with friends on the rooftop if the weather is nice or downstairs in the lounge if not. You may, however, get booted from you seat if there are table reservations(minimum $ 250 purchase). The place gets insane on weekend nights, especially first Fridays. If you arrive too late there will be a $ 20 cover, and then an absolutely ridiculous line to try to get upstairs onto the deck. I definitely like coming here with friends on casual weeknights, but I certainly don’t think it’s worth paying cover or standing in line for(to be fair, as a young woman in Vegas, I generally refuse to stand in line or pay cover for anything) Shoutout to security guard /bouncer guy Ron for being awesome.

This place is very entertaining in every inch of it except for my date night(today) I had an okay music experience. The music or the DJ could’ve been better that night. Otherwise, I loved it !!!

A friend of a friend was DJing here on the first of the year, so we decided to check it out. The ambiance is very artsy and hipster, but definitely not exclusive to those crowd types. There is a more laid-back, speakeasy vibe in the downstairs area of the bar. The upstairs, rooftop area is the more upbeat, «boogie» vibe. I definitely appreciated both areas at any given time of the night. I can’t remember the last time I’ve gone out to a club/lounge and danced ALLNIGHT! The music here was consistently excellent and the environment was welcoming and nonjudgmental. The drinks were reasonably priced(much cheaper than those watered-down, sugary drinks that are often served on The Strip) We had so much on Friday night that we ended up doubling back for Saturday night with an even larger group. All-in-all, this is now one of my favorite places to party in Vegas. Much less expensive and much easier to get to than the high-end, stereotypical places that The Strip has to offer. I will definitely make this a go-to place for any of my future trips to Vegas. It is undeniably a gem in the rapidly changing downtown area.

Easily 5 out of 5 stars. The ambiance ALONE is swoon-worthy. I felt I had been plucked from Vegas and tucked into an intimate, if spacious, nook of Paris. Vintage Paris, even better. Old photograph-plastered walls, gorgeous baths, chandeliers, the WALLPAPER. Every detail has been given the utmost attention. Birthday Sex — 4 out of 5 stars Mule In Heat — 4 out of 5 not sweet, but an interesting variation of the Moscow Mule Despite being DTLV, this location is worth the trek. I promise you, you will not be disappointed.

Well worth the cover! Drinks are strong but not cheap… Easy to get to and the view of Downtown Las Vegas is priceless!

This place used to be the go to place for fun times downtown, but not anymore. They now charge to go upstairs to the outside patio and their drink prices are outrageous. This place is simply full of douche bags that feel they’re something special by being able to push through lines and walk up some stairs to just stand around listening to terrible DJs. No thanks. Save your money & find somewhere better to go.

Came in to the Commonwealth after a drink and some nom noms at Therapy. Always heard about the Commonwealth but never came in. It’s a fine thing I did. I feel like I say this a bunch, but the place is big. A definite plus in a bar is having space to move(and for activities). Some bars(cough cough Griffin) are too compact to my taste, but Commonwealth is pretty open. Though, you can’t control the people IN the space, so we still have people crowding us at the bar. There’s also a fresh wood smell that emanates throughout the bar. The smell to me was akin to the smell of an old fashion Irish pub so definitely a plus. The draft list is pretty huge. Plenty of options for people who are looking to explore beyond the Bud Lights of the world. Chalk is a touch hard to read though so you might have to get closer to read it. Bartenders were fine. Not the friendliest but not the rudest. My biggest downside I would say would be the speaker system. We stayed on the first floor(did not venture into laundry room or roof) and at around 10 pm, we were subjected to blown out music from a speaker. The music itself was fine. It was primarily a mix of 90s hip hop. The speakers just couldn’t handle it though. One song(not of the hip hop variety) featured saxophone playing and EVERYTIME that sax hit, the speaker sounded like a Boeing 747 taking off. Loud blown out music makes me sad. But that was a little obstacle in our night. We had fun there and we left a little after the DJ started his set, which was a shame because he was on a roll with his choices. I’ll definitely be back to drink again, crossing my fingers those speakers get fixed.

Color me not impressed. What’s the big deal about this place again? Perhaps it didn’t help we went on a mid-week night. But then, shouldn’t that have been a good opp to experience this spot sans crowd? Anyways, I dug the décor and appreciated what they were going for. The cocktails were so-so. The beer offerings are better than usual. There were more staff than patrons and our service was less than attentive or friendly. It seems like it could be nice place to hang out and grab a drink. It just failed to deliver the night we went.

Worst staff I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. Commonwealth is incredibly unorganized, overpriced, rude, and overall the most uncivilized bar/lounge I have ever stepped foot in. They may look attractive from outside but all the front of the house employees here are unable to perform their duties properly while remaining civil and mature. However, the waitstaff are okay, even friendly at times. Drinks are overpriced still so I would not come here by choice. It’s a shame the view from the roof is so nice!

Repeating off many of the reviews here… yes this place USED to be «thee» spot to go to. But now you’re even better off going to Goldspike or Pkwy Tavern. If you look at all those 5 star reviews they’re all from 2013 ish. Much has changed since then. Theres a cover to get in. There’s a cover to go UPSTAIRS… Yes I’m serious. That shit isn’t even worth paying for. Douchey security over reacting at the smallest things. This place became elitist as f*ck. If it’s a saturday night at dtlv just skip this place over and go to the Griffin.

Okay, I lied. I swore never to go back to this glamified cesspool of misery, but a large group of friends on a pub crawl put it on their stop list. Who am I to say no to Santa? Well, evidently the doormen from Hell had no problem saying no to *lots* of Santas. Many in our group were refused admission, even though this was all set up and cleared with management days ahead. Inside, service was abysmally slow and unfriendly. Way understaffed for the large group that they knew would be arriving. The other customers were also obviously annoyed — partly because they couldn’t get a drink either, and partly because«Hey, I didn’t come down to Fremont Street to see a bunch of costumed people having a party.» Ummmmmm… Yeah. It’s *that* type of attitude that pervades this place. Really Condomwealth, we were a large group of friendly locals with money to spend on a good time. I can’t tell you how bad the overall feeling was as we left your place. Just for comparison, every other stop on our trip welcomed us with holiday music, signs, drink specials and a whole lot of holiday spirit. You are the Scrooge of Fremont St.
