Anyone who gives this more than 2 stars please don’t post anymore reviews on Unilocal. The carving station. Beef is poor quality and the other food items are about the same Home Town Buffet.

THESTAFFHASNOSENSEOFURGENCY. MANAGEMENTISUNHELPFUL, RUDEANDLIESINYOURFACE. We went for breakfast and waited in line for almost 40 mins to pay. After we paid the cashier warned us that they will switch to lunch dishes at 10.45 am. We waited another 7 – 8 mins to get a table. And when we walked in at 10.42 am most of the dishes were switched to lunch already and omelet station was closed as well. When we spoke to manager a guy name JEREMY told us that omelet station closed at 10.45 am which was a lie. Said that we were freaking out about just an omelet and told us either to eat lunch or leave. Not kind of answer that you give to regular customers that were waiting to eat breakfast for almost an hour. And definitely not a proper level of hospitality for establishment in VEGAS.

The food at the Bistro Buffet tastes pretty good if you’re comped and pretty bad if you’re not.

Love the food. More about quality and not quantity. Service was excellent… shoutout to Sal and Jose for the great brunch and seafood buffet service. I cannot reiterate how important great service is and the food was really really good.

I have never actually paid to come here since my mom plays at Palms almost every weekend so I only come when she has comps to use. Even then, I’m hesitant to come and only do so at her request. I have been coming here at least once every 2 — 3 months for the past 2 years(since I’ve moved here). The quality of food here has been up and down. It was awful for the longest time, got pretty decent for awhile last year around the summer I believe(temporary new chef maybe?), and went downhill again in recent months. I definitely would NOT recommend coming here if you have to pay. If you are just looking for a place to eat while at the Palms and want a sit down restaurant to eat at, Lao Sze Chuan is not bad. If you’re just looking for something to eat, Chronic Tacos has quick and easy bowl-ritos that are cheap with fresh ingredients. Most of the cooked food is WAY too salty and this is coming from someone who loves savory foods. Two stars cause they do have a few items that are decent(salads and oatmeal raisin cookies).

Came here armed with a BOGO coupon for a weekday dinner. Selection and quality were just okay, nothing stood out. Effort seemed to be made for presentation but not so much for flavor. I am not a fan of how loud this location is, right on the casino floor with a half-wall surround– it’s like sitting next to a slot machine. PROS: Lots of seafood dishes even on a weeknight, made-to-order pasta and stir fry stations, attentive service, house beer and wine included in dinner price. Even at 8:30, half an hour before close, staff were bringing out fresh food and replenishing dishes. Dessert section was better than expected. CONS: Whoever rolled the sushi doesn’t know what they’re doing– even AYCE spots that are intentionally trying to pack in the rice aren’t this obvious about it. Some dishes were just improperly made, like the jambalaya and paella dishes that each had unpeeled shrimp, with legs falling off and getting all over the pan. Many dishes were barely lukewarm. As I left, I was waffling between two and three stars and intending to round up– it’s not a place I’d return without a discount, and I prefer Red Rock for similar price and off-Strip location. Rounded back down when my boyfriend got sick the second we pulled into our home drive way.

For the breakfast buffet They have an omelet bar with about 30 ingredient options. You could even get egg whites. The hot bar had French toast with an amazing blue berry compote that rivals some of he high end breakfast restaurants I’ve been too. This isn’t the stereotypical Vegas buffet depicted in most movies. So if you are in Vegas I would suggest you adventure off the strip to the palms for breakfast.

Been coming here off and on for years(usually when I get deals in the mail) and this buffet has done more 180’s than Tony Hawk. We went on April 12th, a Tuesday, when they were supposed to have crab legs. Not only did they not have crab legs but they still charged«Seafood Tuesday» prices and replaced crab legs with old gray rancid tuna nigiri in a boat. More than one person who took a look at it while I was up there commented about how unappealing it was and that they’d be afraid to eat it… embarrassingly disgusting. Management should look into this, it’s that bad. They also changed the quality of the New York strip… was thinner and less tender than before… no thanks. There was also a film coating some of the individual plates near the wok station that shouted out«Hey! No one’s touched me for hours, please throw me out!» The only reason this experience didn’t get one star is because the short, elder brunette lady server who takes care of our drinks is super friendly and always an all-star. (Some of my decent pics are from their better days prior to their most recent 180).

A $ 8 buffet masquerading as a $ 22 brunch buffet. Honestly, I’ve been here before and don’t remember it being this bad. We went on sunday for the brunch. The line wasn’t long but it took forever to get in because there is only one cashier. Request to our drink server for a set of missing utensils was ignored and after flagging down another server to no avail, I finally walked up to the cashier area where they had a couple of forks and got it myself. A walk around the spread and I couldn’t believe how stingy they’ve become. There were hardly any options. Sure there are crab legs, but barely defrosted stringy crab meat is not really my thing. I believe wine and mimosas come free with the sunday brunch but we don’t drink so it’s worthless to us. The salad bar was paltry, as were the Chinese and Mexican sections. There was no carving station. The only fish options were tilapia and catfish. One person was manning both the omelet and the Mongolian stir fry station, so you can imagine the wait. Of the little plates, I tried the lasagna and the chile verde. They look fancy but taste subpar. I used to like their bread pudding, but there were only some dried bits left at the bottom of the tray. I kept waiting for it to be refilled or a fresh batch brought out… and it never happened. There is nothing left to redeem this buffet in my eye. Our server(yeah the one that forgot to bring me my fork) walked by a couple of times and not even once bothered to re-fill our empty cups with water. Yup, Bistro buffet, I think this is goodbye for good.

The Bistro Buffet at the Palms has quickly become my favorite Buffet off the Strip. The food quality is really good, especially the mini portions served on individual plates like their mac and cheese and creamy polenta dishes(reminds me of the Wicked Spoon). They also have 3 carved meat options with a crunchy outside/tender inside pork belly, turkey and roast beef. The dinner menu has a NY steak that is excellent, super tender and flavorful. The only reason that I wouldn’t give this place a 5th star would be that there isn’t enough excellent dishes(like the steak) to be a perfect experience, although everything is above average. The desserts are pretty good as well with the only complaint being that there’s no ice cream, only the standard buffet soft serve fair. I like their waffle cone for the soft serve and their mini eclairs. The service is good w/comp. alcohol for lunch and dinner.

I love this buffet! The carving station is awesome, they always throw some of the steak on the grill for me with some mushrooms. The little side dishes in skillets are usually pretty good also, I just had the chicken & waffles, fantastic. The staff is super friendly and helpful

It’s rare that you go into a buffet with low expectations… and then the actual experience only lowers it further. To start, the server didn’t come by even after one trip for the first plate. When she came by with the drinks, she didn’t bring any forks and had to make another trip. She didn’t talk to us at all during the course of the meal. The plates were cleared from the table in a timely manner, though. For the food itself, we went on the seafood night. The crab legs were okay. Everything else was pretty terrible. The risotto was sour. You can taste that the quality of the food is low and I had suspicions that some were going rancid. I have been here once before many years ago and did not have the best memories, but now I remember why I never cared to return. It might be a while before I forget this experience.

Been here many time before. It was good enough to leave full without breaking the bank but recently I’ve noticed their options have dropped off. There are less seafood options as before. With the Maloof family no longer owning this place, change is noticeable and so are the patrons. This place used to have a mix of local elders and young people who didn’t make it onto the strip. The food quality has always remained good and same with the service. What was great was how easily they comped meals… If you had to pay to eat it’s still worth it as there was t ever a line. He seating was spaced well enough where you didn’t feel cramped or like you were part of another party. Their brunch was good and better than the Gold Coast but a bit pricier too. If you’re hungry and have a few bucks to spend, this is the place for you.

Starting at 2PM, there is a long line of patrons waiting in line to enter the buffet, and having been in line for 20 minutes now, I can confidently state the line is barely moving due to delays by staff. Plenty of tables are set & vacant inside. Keep this in mind if you’re looking for a «quick» meal at the bistro buffet at the Palms & you see a line. ***** Now that I’ve been seated & had my first plate of food, I’m much less anxious, but the above review is still correct & im not going to change it. The bistro buffet manager was apologizing to people in line, and I believe I overheard him telling people that on Thursdays they now offer some sort of senior citizen discount, so that the place is extra-busy on Thursdays. If that’s the case, then the establishment should plan accordingly, having extra staff on hand. Again, there were plenty of open tables of various sizes — what bogged things down was just one cashier & perhaps not enough servers. Instead of apologizing, the manager should have been managing the situation by helping the cashier or seating people. I’m used to lines, especially at buffets. But the problem here is the unreasonable length of time everyone had to wait in line. And yes, per my initial review from last year, I only dined here today because I had a coupon! :)

I give this place 4 stars like Wicked Spoon. Why? Because it has a small selection but what it has, it does well. The steaks are cooked right and not over cooked. I usually come here for seafood night. Crab legs are good. Most items here from Italian to Chinese are actually pretty tasty and authentic. The desserts are small but again it does a good job. For a local casino it s definitely a 4. Especially if you consider the price. So, due to this it gets a 4. For the ones giving it a 2 or 3, please go to Circus Circus and then come back and try to give this place a 3 stars.

Holy God Awful. If you like tiny apple pies for $ 20.99 this is the buffet for you. Nothing and I mean nothing is that good here. Go to the Fiesta, not the greatest buffet but the food is better there and its $ 9.99. I spent $ 40.00 on something masquerading as food. Everything that should be hot was almost lukewarm. Mr. Man said the ribs were nasty. But he said that the NY steak was good even though it had been sitting out. Kraft macaroni and cheese was doctored up with bacon. Seriously, who was cooking tonight? Our clue that it’s not good here should have been, no line, no patrons, six employees. I love bread… I can eat bread all day and the bread here(garlic breadstick and a wheat dinner roll) is bad. I gave this buffet one star for the delicious mini Apple pie and delicious soda(because that is the only thing that you can’t really screw up) and another star for our server. We liked the server.

We ate here for convenience and the food was just ok. The price was good for lunch but mediocre food. Out of all the hot food, I liked maybe two dishes. Some things were overcooked from sitting out too long. The dessert section looks really pretty but most of the items were too sweet or just gross. Forget the ice cream. I don’t know what it’s made of but it was inedible.

I have been here twice using a travelzoo deal for dinner. It is smaller than the other buffets. The customer service is great and you get unlimited wine or beer and they do not skimp on it. The food choices aren’t that vast but you have your typical steak, seafood and pasta choices. The place is clean and well kept and in accordance to the feel of the palms. It’s not a must go but I think this place is a solid buffet because they give you food and alcohol at a reasonable price.

I bought a Groupon deal for $ 42 bucks for a buffet and drink package for two. There is also a similar deal on travel zoo. Normally $ 27 per person. The service here was super. Greeted right away, seated, server came asking for drink orders, and dishes were cleaned up promptly. The food here was okay for an buffet. Nothing special and certainly not on the higher end of the food rating spectrum. They have your typical crab legs, beef and carving boards, Mongolian BBQ and large selection of food. However, there was no ‘wow factor’ to anything there. The beer and wine that come with the Groupon package was for their house wine and a basic Budweiser type of beer. There are alternative buffet’s that I would rather go to for the same price range. However, if you are staying at Palms Hotel and need a quick meal then it’s worth it.

You like to drink? How about unlimited mimosas and crab legs? Cheap food for a cheap price, this is exactly what is advertised. At $ 21.99, you get what you pay: unlimited mimosas, crab legs and omelettes made to order. The rest of the food was ok, but some of it was really bland. The desserts were so pretty, but again, they didn’t taste great. The buffet’s Chinese food was good and cauliflower cheese bake was delicious! Service was superb because they were very nice, and they kept the drinks rolling. They were happy to take photos for us and do it with making us smile. If you want high-quality food you came to the wrong buffet. Those buffets are usually $ 40-$ 50 and can be found at places like Bellagio or Caesars Palace. However, this was perfect for us because the price was cheap and they provided exactly what we wanted, basic buffet food and some sweet drinks. If this buffet was priced any higher, it wouldn’t have been worth it.
