If we hadn’t been really hungry, the 10 to 15 minute wait to even get water should’ve been a sign. Staff was friendly enough, however nothing we ordered was hot. Chicken n dumplings were cool. Even my 8 year old chimed in that his mashed potatoes were cold. My wife had a refill of diet coke that was not diet. Deadly for a diabetic if that kind of mistake is made. This is my second and most likely last to a Cracker Barrel.

Best time to come is in the early AM. There biscuits and eggs and everything was so fresh. It was really good. Coffee was even awesome! Service on point! Nice little gift shop up front.

A typical Cracker Barrel with an attached quaint store. Food is tasty but nothing to brag about in my opinion. I had the Dbl Meat Breakfast consisting of Three Eggs cooked to order, 3 slices of Bacon, 2 Smoked Sausage Patties. Served with Grits, Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits. Now I dislike Grits but you must pay extra for a substitution. I had my eggs scrambled this time but they may have been powdered eggs as they had that type feel & taste; not bad but next time I’ll order hard or over med. The bacon was wonderful as were the biscuits, and while my husband loved the smoked sausage it was just ok for me. Neither of us enjoyed the gravy as it was too thick & bland. Will try a dinner at some point to review.

Service was very good from our waitress, Lorane. Our daughter was starting to cry and she quickly brought out our biscuits and cornbread ahead of the meal in case it was due to hunger. The food was pretty good — above average for a chain. Really liked the biscuits. And the checkers outside and game at the table help keep the kids entertained during waits.

Friday fish fry is delicious with fried okra, corn bread and ice tea. Great staff host, waiter and checkout. Clean bathrooms and easy access from freeway. Gift shop offers a great chance to stretch your legs and pick up a gift for a loved one or something for yourself. We look forward to each chance to eat here and very highly recommend you eat here to. Hope to see you on our next visit.

CB in Las Cruces has amazing customer service! You are not a customer, you are family! since I am a tightwad and don’t like to spend a lot of money, I think its great that the kids menu is for«kids of all ages» I am a 60 yr old kid who love the chicken strips. A great meal at a very affordable price.

I love southern food and let’s face it, not many restaurants serve southern food at all! Cracker Barrel serves great food with a fairly strong southern flair. Today I decided to go lite and ordered a salad they had on special. It isn’t often that the plate you are served really looks like the picture. This one did! Everything was fresh and perfect. The corn slaw was great and the grilled chicken tasted homemade. Clean restroom, good service, host seemed a little bit distracted.

I have been to many Cracker Barrels in my lifetime thus far. Tonight I had the best customer service at a CB ever. I did a phone order(staying in the neighboring La Quinta). Ordered a chicken dinner with a salad and corn bread. KAYLA went out of her way to make sure I had everything I needed including a cup of their whipped butter slightly warmed so it would be easy to spread with my plasticware. Kayla needs a raise ! Thumbs up!

Stopped after a long day of driving for a good meal instead of McDrive-Thru fare. Glad I did. Staff was friendly and prompt. Meal was good, but roast beef had an inordinate amount of gristle and fat. Everything else was excellent. At the end of my meal the server asked if something was wrong when he noticed that the roast beef was the only thing left on my plate. After I explained, he cleared the table and disappeared. In less than a minute, he was back and informed me that he had the manager comp my meal and I need only pay for my tea. I was thankful, but a little guilty as I was not really upset. He assured me that it was his manager’s policy to make every guest 100% happy before they left. I can appreciate this kind of service, care and concern for customers. That’s why I will continue to patronize Cracker Barrels across the nation!

We really enjoy Cracker Barrel restaurants. The food is always properly prepared and good. Prices are fair and people do a great job and are friendly. This applies to all their restaurants… and we have been to many.

I came here on Thanksgiving… so it was a madhouse. We had to wait an hour but that was to be expected. All the rocking chairs were taken so that should tell you how busy it was. But I was so impressed with the staff. They were running around like crazy doing their best to take care of everyone and no one was ever rude or snippy to anyone. Some customers were really rude to them, acting like they could someone speed up the process by yelling at the staff. But the staff was wonderful and the food was great. I would go back just for the staff alone.

Had a great time here. I’ve never been to a Cracker Barrel so it was a new experience. Our waitress, Kayla, was really nice. My husband and I got the summer special campfire chicken. The portion was very generous and came with potatoes, carrots, onions and tomatoes. The chicken was very juicy, which I was happily surprised about sometimes it can be dry. The gift shop was fun, too. If you’re passing through, this is a great place to stop. For two people, our meal came out to $ 21. Not bad at all!

The food at Cracker Barrel is very predictable no matter where you go. It’s adequate, maybe a notch up from school cafeteria food, and it is ample and not expensive. This particular Cracker Barrel has very uneven, often slow, unfriendly, service and the room is quite loud. I like the store though. They sell some amazingly funny products. Who wants a muu-muu in patriotic colors? Anyone?

Breakfast is by far my favorite meal. I love pretty much any traditional dish that is served up in the waking hours of the day. I asked my local Las Cruces friend where the best breakfast is in the city and without hesitation she said Cracker Barrel. We came here for a big meal the morning of my birthday. We showed up around 10am on a Tuesday and most of the people already dining were retired folks or unemployed college kids on their summer vacation. It was rather quiet but my friend assured me the place gets pretty crazy during weekend brunch time. After walking through the cute little store at the front we were led to our table in a dining room filled with all kinds of weird, random, yet fascinating Southwest décor all over the walls. The menu is jam packed full of any and all good ol’ Southwest artery clogging breakfast items. The«Traditional Favorites» section has a large number of huge meal combinations with the highlights of the menu(Sawmill gravy, biscuits, and fried apples) included in each one. I was really hungry and I was aiming to fill up my stomach to hold me over for the rest of the day. I landed on what was basically the largest combination: Sunrise Sampler(two eggs, grits, Sawmill gravy and buttermilk biscuits, fried apples, hash brown casserole, smoked sausage, and country ham). The country ham and sausage were each pretty dry. So much so I had to drink water in order to swallow them. However, the biscuits and gravy were each delicious and the grits and eggs were nice too. Although it’s pretty difficult to screw up two scrabbled eggs. When I first read«fried eggs» on the menu I thought I would be totally disgusted by them. I assumed they would be huge calorie bombs dipped in batter and deep fried«county fair» style. Instead, they were very lightly fried with no batter in sight and plenty of sauce covering each slice. To my surprise, they were actually so good I thought about buying a jar of them from the store on our way out(although I opted against it). The real highlight of the meal though, the thing that made the whole trip worthwhile, was the amazing hash brown casserole. It was a large helping of string hash browns(my favorite) mixed with a generous portion of cheese(see, artery clogging indeed). Cracker Barrel served me up a huge portion of the breakfast staples and after all was said and done I only spent about $ 10. Decent start to my 23rd birthday, that’s for sure!

We have been seeing billboards for Cracker Barrel Restaurants driving around Arizona and New Mexico so we finally decided to stop at the one in Las Cruces for dinner. The menu was expansive and looked promising. I got the deep fried catfish with three sides of vegetables — you pick the vegetables, so I got fried okra, turnip greens and green beans. The dinner came with two biscuits too. The verdict? The catfish was just OK, and made edible with lots of lemon squeezed on top and the tartar sauce. The biscuits were only mildly edible when piping hot. The greens were all really salty, and the fried okra was better after the breading was peeled off. The service tried to be helpful, warning us that there are no refills on orange juice(no surprise there) and even providing us with a sample of the«chicken dumplin». But we won’t come back to the chain restaurant — there really isn’t a reason to.

After my first Cracker Barrel experience, I think, «I’d go back if there weren’t any better options» probably is the best way of describing it. I got the meatloaf dinner, but I was most excited by the sides, and was looking to try dumplins. What a let down. Cracker Barrel dumplins = gooey pasta in not so good gravy. At a place like this, I tend to order all the vegetables I can muster. The fried okra(OKRA!!!) and turnip greens were pretty nice. Other memorable sides were applesauce and broccoli(the veg of the day). Last minute, we ordered a baked apple dumplin only to realize once we got home that there was no ice cream. A la mode-less to go.

Everytime I visit a Cracker Barrel I get the same thing. Mama’s.Pancake.Breakfast. Complete w/over-hard eggs, turkey sausage patties, and coffee. $ 7.49 for the meal, $ 1.49 for the bottomless cup of coffee. This is your typical Cracker Barrel, if you’re familiar. Hit the spot this morning. Mmmmm…
