Love this place! Sure most of the wait staff doesn’t speak a lot of English but they come round and check on you plenty. Everything is delicious. Things we’ve had: Huevos Rancheros especial Tlalpena soup — think chicken veggie soup with a kick of spice from a chipotle pepper swimming round in your bowl and a good sprinkle of cheese. Pancakes! Barbacoa and desebrada tacos — awesome MOSTIMPORTANTLY — GOODCOFFEE!

There was really nothing spectacular or outstanding. I could’ve cooked breakfast at home. I had the chilaquiles they were ok, the biscuits reminded me of the canned type. Beans were ok too just like home’s. My mommy makes better tortillas. I think I prefer the HEB brand flour tortillas to the ones I had here. Their flour tortillas were tough and too chewey AND I had actually requested corn. I really wanted to like this place especially because it was packed. I don’t think I’ll be back. Maybe I’m spoiled because once I try something I really love it’s hard for me not to compare all the time. Like the chilaquiles I had at Guanajuato at a reataurant right across from Benito Juarez Theater. I keep searching for chilaquiles like those And haven’t found anything close. It’s just tortillas and salsa for goodness sake! Service was good. I did feel rushed at the beginning and then they were slow at the and of our meal.

The servers here are always very friendly and helpful. I love getting the bisquette mollete(sp?). I usually get a small lemonade to drink(the large is too big), and I also get a taco because I love the tortillas there. You won’t regret coming here!

This place serves amazing mexican breakfast that will get you dancing around in your chair. They also offer a growing lunch menu if you don’t have that morning goodness felling… weirdo. Let me paint a picture for you: Chilaquiles con 2 huevos –Just imagine a bed of chilaquiles covered in a mild tomato salsa, topped with queso freso, with two eggs over easy on top of it all ready to be parted. –Refried beans –Potatoes bathed in a spicier salsa but still not overpowering… just right. –Take it all in. Let your eyes make your heart start getting excited. Now go in for the attack! Part that egg get some chilaquiles, queso, and beans. Follow it up immediately by some potatoes and sit back in silence and listen to your heart sing! If you’re ever in Laredo looking for a good place to eat, Marla is a must. You hear that Anthony Bourdain?

The full name of this place is Desayunos Marla, which translates to Breakfasts Marla and indeed breakfast/brunch is when i always go. This place began in Nuevo Laredo, and they have like 5 locations across that is how good they are. Chilaquiles, Machacado, Barbacoa, are awesome. The green chilaquiles are might spicy, go with red if you don’t handle spice well. Flour tortillas here are a little taste of heaven. They are kinda thick in that awesome way.
