Good food at good prices. Great for a quick meal and everything is made fresh to order.

I happened to be in South Bend, Indiana or maybe it was Laporte not really sure. Hopefully I will never have to go back. After a day of watching my sister in law graduate from Notre Dame. Wifey and I were real tired and hungry. We were suppose to eat at the Tippecanoe restaurant in South Bend. Those plans changed when my wife broke out her acting skills and convinced the family that it was getting to late for us to eat there. We had to drive back to Rosemont, Illinois. An hour and ½ drive. And the stupid time changes between South Bend and Chicago is maddening. The menu looked good. Real classic Midwest stuff. Italian Beef and Chicago Hot Dogs. However, I decided to eat sort of healthy and got a chicken sandwich. It was actually good. A real piece of chicken with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. The sandwich came with shoe string french fries. Wifey got a grilled cheese. She ate 2 of them. So, they must of been good. Her father got a gyro. What else would would you get at a gyro place. It looked good but they do not put the chicken in the pita. Kind of strange how they serve it. Overall, this place is good. It is one step above fast food. But if you happen to be in that area it is worth a try. After reading reviews I should of got the hot dogs.

Good gyros — good hot dogs — good ribs. It’s not gourmet people! But it’s yummy and good for soaking up last nights hangover.

LIttle hole in the wall, wait, I guess almost everything in this town is a hole in the wall. Anyways, little greek, well kinda greek… I mean they have gyros. They also have burgers, wings and other assorted fried foods. Ok, not really very greek. Rainy day here so I decided to stroll into King Gyros to garb me a gyro for lunch. I decided to go for the gyro plate assuming it was just a gyro and fries. Oh dear god was I wrong. Sitting waiting for my order I see the guy behind the counter piling food onto a tray. Think to myself this can’t be mine, I get the nod to come and get it. See what the gyro plate consist of is 2 toasted pita bread, at least a 1lb of gyro meat, a container or slightly fried onions, 4 tomato wedges, two huge wedges of feta that would add up to about a half stick of butter and a cup full of «special sauce»(bland tzatziki) HOLLYSHIT! Also a basket of fries. I feel gross now after only making it through one pita bread. I had to of left half the food on the«plate» as there is no way in hell I could every take that all down. So yes kids, you too can take King Gyro’s «gyro plate challenge» for $ 6.99 if you feel up to it. Bring your stomaches cause you’re going to need it.
