Wow! Such a terrific and dedicated group of people who truly care about saving the lives of these brilliant, tenacious, funny, and down right cute dogs. I have been going to their web site for several years having adopted 3 out of the 4 Rat Terriers who have been my companions throughout the years. So many dogs deserving loving forever homes it was almost overwhelming. I would start to fill out the adoption application then decide not to finish it for some reason or other, mostly because I was protective of my current Rat Terrier, Agnes, and not wanting to make her share me with another dog. I had my phone interview with them last night and am so impressed with how hands on they are in their approach to adopting out rescue dogs. They really take the time to find a dog that will mesh with your home, other pets, lifestyle, etc. They want to be sure that you will keep the dog and are 100% up front about any issues the dog may have. They are not only willing, but even suggested that the dog that is being matched for me be brought up from the foster home in Oregon for a meet and great with my dog before any final decision is made. This is also when they will inspect my home to be sure that it is a good place for the dog. They check references that you must provide, and ask a lot of questions about how you deal with training and/or behavior issues. Just so impressed with them.
