Most places I find in the USA are not very welcoming to customers… This was the complete opposite. Friendly and energetic staff — for 8am! Delicious hot food! Clean big restaurant! Huge menu.

The food was delicious. The service was just ok. But, the«trump 2016» sign on the hostess podium was BULLSH1T !!! We will never be back.

I have been here twice. Both times I was greeted like family, and served delicious food. Great prices, great staff. Go have breakfast here.

I work in the Frandor Lansing area and visited Flapjack Restaurant for the 1st time this past Saturday morning. The service was fantastic and the food was excellent! Love the carafe of hot coffee on the table and the friendly staff that were all hustling to take care of the packed restaurant. I will recommend Flapjack Restaurant to all my friends and will definitely be back!

Was just refused service. Tried to call in a to go order and after waiting on hold for a while, they said they were too busy to take my order and I would have to come in to order it. There were no apologies, no sorry or thank you or even a good by before she disconnected. This would have been my first time trying this restaurant, they will never get my business now.

Going out for breakfast as a vegetarian never ceases to be a huge pain. Want full sized pancakes, hashbrowns, and eggs? There’s no meal for you, and no place ever does substitutions. This place isn’t any different. My partner and I wound up here after looking for pancakes in the area. There were lots of breakfast meal options, but none had exactly what I wanted, so of course I asked the waitress if we could substitute meat for potatoes. Makes sense to me since a side of meat was about $ 3, and a side of potatoes/hashbrows was $ 2.50. No money lost! Unfortunately, we weren’t able to make the substitution. The waitress was very kind and seemed really intent on helping us out, but the boss said no, and offered a suggestion that gave us silver-dollar pancakes. But I came here for full sized pancakes! I need pancakes, darn it. The only other suggestion we were offered was ordering something with everything we wanted(plus meat), and then asking them to hold the meat. So, still paying for the meat, but not receiving it. I just don’t understand why it’s so difficult to have hashbrowns instead of sausage. We ended up just ordering something that came with pancakes, eggs, and meat, and foregoing the meat completely. I found the whole ordering experience was extremely annoying. The only saving grace of this place was the waitress that was as helpful as she could possibly be. The food itself was average and exactly as expected of diner breakfast, and the restaurant was decently clean. Aside from our waitress, the rest of the staff didn’t come off very friendly to my partner and I. They were all pretty annoyed. I felt like I was being a huge annoyance just paying my bill. I don’t live in Lansing, so I’ll only be in the area a few times a year. Still, I don’t think I’ll come back.

Ordered: Country Breakfast w/side of link sausages Ambiance: Pretty standard breakfast place like any other Dennys/IHOP/etc. Service was friendly but a little slow since the place was close to capacity on a Sunday around noon. Luckily they left a pitcher of coffee at the table so there wasn’t a ton I needed to ask for. Food: I was very happy with the biscuits and sausage gravy part of my meal. The biscuit was soft and moist yet not overly mushy. The gravy was nice and savory with large chunks of chopped sausage which were so tasty I got a extra side of sausages alone. My main gripe was the scrambled eggs which were flavorless and had that semi-rubbery texture of egg beaters where the moisture squeezes out between the protein as you chew it. The bacon just fine, nothing to really comment on. My fiancé had the eggs benedict which really looked ho-hum and slathered in a unnatural-looking cheese sauce but tasted fine. Overall this place is a 3.5 with copious amounts of decent food but I honestly don’t differentiate it that much from Dennys or IHOP except that it is a little less greasy?

This is a blue collar breakfast friendly restaurant akin to IHOP or Denny’s. We had fast service, hearty and filling good, and the right type of corner beef hash. The waitress was very nice. The prices are reasonable.

I’ll remember not to go here on a Saturday morning again. The food was okay, not a bunch of options for me when it comes to breakfast. Our waitress wasn’t that great either. Reminds me of a dennys.

I had the monte Christo breakfast sandwich as it was on the specials board. It was just perfect and the service was great. Decent place just sort of like a plain old café but good food.

Was in East Lansing for a field trip & this popped up in the Unilocal monocle. I do not think I have ever been in a restaurant, that was so busy, friendly & fast !! Every booth was filled & the cashier always had 2 – 4 people in line. Sheryl was my fantastic server, and my gyro omelet & flapjacks came up lickety split . I did inquire about breakfast specials, like the 2 X 4 and all of our other Detroit deals, however everything on the menu started at $ 6.75 [ hash browns $ 1.50 upcharge }

I have been here many times and it is always consistently good. The staff is friendly, prices are good, and service is FAST! The place is big and it can get busy but I’ve never had to wait long. The only thing preventing it from getting 5 stars is the food. It’s good but pretty typical. You will get exactly what you expect.

This place was OK. Ordered a country omelet, flapjacks, and a side of hash-browns. The omelet was not the worst thing I have ever had, nor was it the best. The flapjacks were OK… kinda bland. The coffee was awful… I mean seriously?! The meal was overpriced for what it was. I would return in a pinch. If you do go, expect to salt, pepper, and Frank’s whatever you order.

I ate at Flap Jack with no expectations and was let down by even that. The food was greasy and bland. My friend had an omelet that was the worst thing I have ever seen, it was thin, runny, tasteless and contained canned mushrooms. Our waitress was rude, the place was packed and not exactly spotless. If you’re looking for something slightly fancier than McDonald’s, Flap Jack might just be your place. A last note: their pumpkin pancakes weren’t bad.

The coffee is pretty bad, but it’s always there. The breakfasts are done well compared to your everyday IHOP/Big Boy fare, but not up to the standards of the heavy hitters. I don’t think their flapjacks are all that great, but the rest of the menu is fine, and the food gets brought out quickly.

Ok– this place is DEFINITELYNOT a 5-star restaurant. To put the Flap Jack Shack in the same league as Golden Harvest is ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong, I still eat here occasionally because it’s cheap and fast and good enough, but it is a 3-star restaurant. Expect Big Boy type fare but slightly better quality and service.

Fast, friendly, affordable — these are a few of my favorite things. I ordered an omelet and a diet coke. I customized my omelet, so it was a bit pricier. For a little over $ 12, I enjoyed a delicious breakfast. The waiter was hilarious and accommodating, I would definitely return.

Best breakfast in the Lansing Area hands down. Some people would debate that Sip n Shack out in Okemos is better– those people are idiots. Any true fan of breakfast will come to any one of Flap Jack shacks locations and won’t be disappointed. Their breakfast menu pretty covers all bases. My usual is the skillet breakfast with pancakes. It has all your basic breakfast elements– bacon, potatoes, eggs, cheese, and of course pancakes. The servers here are pretty awesome as well. Some of them have been here for years, and the ones that haven’t are still pretty jovial. This place gets packed in the morning, especailly on the weekends, so just prepare yourself. For as busy as they are, they usually clear it out pretty quick. Oh yeah, they have nothing but booths(except for tables in the back for large groups). Man I love this place.
