When Johnnys first opened I was like finally a good carryout in the area. They did everything but let you create your own dish. From my house i would drive out of my way past like 10 carryouts. My kids even requested johnnys. A few months ago i Unilocaled the number to order some food, and before i did i read the ladies review about how they tried to give her a toddler portion. I’m like hell no, not my johnnys! So i went, and they damn sure did cut back on my portions while keeping the price the same. I was like maybe they had an off day. So i went again last week, and its the same again but worse. I ordered a large general tsos, and got what looked like a combination special worth of food. I used to work in this area, and frequent this place a few times a month and heres what i noticed in my last 2 trips. When johnnys opened there was a guy, and 2 female’s that worked inside. The one female who usually took calls and worked the regster, and if you visited often you’d see the other lady had her kids there a lot. Well i havent seen the guy or kid lady in a while. The guy who was originally in the back was the reason johnnys was so good. Now they’ve decided to be regular just like all the other spots in the area. If you have never been to johnnys maybe you will like it, but if you were a regular like me you can see that its not the same anymore. #DamnNotJohnnys

I used to love the taste of the food here, but recently it’s not the same. About the customer service, it good, she really try’s to interact with you. I prefer the carry out on Lanham Severn Rd called Eastern Panda.

i’m not sure about the service complaint… they can be terse — but it’s just the culture is to the point. food is great — well priced… and i’m happy with my experience.^^*

Used to rave over this place(previously gave 4 stars) but after experiencing terrible service the last time I went, I’m going to have to call this joint out. I’m used to ordering the Hunan Shrimp Lunch special for about $ 6.87. Obviously, being that it’s a ‘lunch” special, the portion offerings are smaller. No problem. I can make do with a smaller sized offering of rice and meat. However, the last time I went there, they clearly TRIED to give me a toddler size offering — for the same price. I called in my order so I went in to pick up my order, expecting everything to go as normal. Magically, the portions I’m used to receiving shrunk in size 10 times over — (wish I took a picture of it)…but let’s just say it was no bigger than a pack of 4 post-its from Office Depot. Immediately calling out the worker on the size, she tried to pretend she had no idea what we were talking about… when the«size displays» were clearly above her head and WAY larger than what she just tried to serve me. We literally had to try to go back and forth with her 40 times before she finally admitted that the sizes weren’t the same… but she wanted the same price. I had to get back to work, plus I’m not one for arguing so I left and paid. But will I be back again? NO, NEVER. Because pretending not to understand what a paying customer wants is unacceptable. There have been literally four carryouts in this same spot over the past three years, so Johnny’s needs to know it’s easily replaceable.
