I quickly walked through this large section of shops while in Strasburg one evening as I explored the area. It wasn’t bad — it has 100 stores and places to eat, after all, so the selection of places to go here certainly isn’t awful — but it was pretty underwhelming. All of the stores and restaurants are your typical chain stores that you can find in other malls — no local hole in the wall shops or anything like that. Side note: the shopping area overall was definitely trying to be very kid-friendly — a lot of the stores were more kid themed and there’s even a playground(because I’m sure lots of parents want their children playing on the slide right by the road?). So I’m sure a family would be more appreciative of this place than the single traveler looking for interesting places to see on her journey. I have to ask, why aren’t there more exits considering how large this shopping center is? I’m serious: it took me five minutes or so just to find an exit that would take me to the main road. I actually got lost because there are only one or two exits in this entire lot. Put some signs up and help your patrons find their way out, darn it. I definitely wouldn’t stop by if I was in the area again, unless I absolutely had to. This spot is really more of a place for locals and families looking for practical items to shop or eat, rather than visitors looking for something different. But hey, if you’re passing through and need to replace something in your wardrobe/are too hungry to look for a local and more interesting eatery, stop on in!

I come here for two reasons: Five Below which a great fun store that is much larger than other locations. Other reason… UNDERARMOUR! This outlet is huge and I think I read that is one of the largest. I love this store and never leave empty handed. Great prices to be found here! If you like under armour check it out.

I thought the shop selection was interesting, not your usual Tanger outlet fare. I went just as they were closing so I wasn’t able to browse all of the stores. The parking was fine, and there were several chain restaurants bordering the lot. There was also a somewhat dangerous looking area that should be blocked off, but it wasn’t. All the stores and part of the lot looked under construction and I saw quite a few nails and broken pieces of glass. The prices were good, but not as good as an actual outlet. I didn’t see too many people shopping, but that could have been because it was late and closing. Several totally closed shops so my guess is the area isn’t doing too well. Also, and this was wild to me, be on the lookout for Amish driving carriages(yes, with horses) all along the streets around the outlets.

The outlet is ok. Has some good shops such as Under Armour, but with the Tanger outlets so close, I guess this one doesn’t really compare. We also like the store Five Below which has a collection of cool games, items and supplies ranging up to $ 5. We love the Under Armour store here so we come everytime we’re in Lancaster. It is right off Lincoln Hwy 30 and near a lot of the food and attractions.

Rockvale is the Over-the-Hill outlet in Lancaster, PA. It’s had a great run, but the Tanger Outlets are much nice, newer and cleaner than the antiquated Rockvale. Sure, there are tons of options to choose from, but it’s not always quantity over quality. Especially in the world of discount shopping!

I’m from CT where there is a dearth of good outlet malls, so I always look forward to our annual trip to Lancaster for a church conference when we can stop at the Rockvale outlets. They have a nice setup for walking — safe, relatively well-lit, and self-contained. There is a nice variety of shops from high end to low end, from toys to clothes to electronics, and from widely popular to niche in focus. We especially love stopped at Noah’s Landing, the UnderArmour store, and the Book Cellar.

I love outlet shopping. I really do. But coming back from Lancaster, we popped into Rockvale for some drive-by outlet shopping. We popped into Pottery Barn. I did find some Christmas items I’d consider purchasing, but the lines deterred me from turning it into actuality. Next, we stopped at the Christmas store and spent a bit of time there. Lastly, we stopped at the Eagles End Zone. Had there been a better sale going on, I totally would have stocked on on Iggles holiday décor. The outlets are pretty spread out, but didn’t look to have that many stores. So perhaps it’s deceptively big. Tanger down the street looked to be much bigger and more crowded. My bf’s bro-in-law says that the Bass at Rockvale has great deals. We didn’t stop in there since we had spent most of our time at the other 3 stores. Maybe next time.

It’s really just another outlet mall. There’s nothing special or unique about it. The same mix of real outlets and(mostly) fake outlet stores selling stuff for regular retail prices. Rockvale is the larger of the two outlet malls on Hwy. 30(Tanger being the other one). I never go to Rockvale to «shop». The sprawling center makes driving from store to store almost a requirement. On the weekends the place is usually packed with bused in tourists making for a fairly unpleasant shopping experience.

Larger than the Tanger Outlets, the Rockvale Outlets have a mix of high-end and lower-end stores. It’s certainly more fun to walk, as there are more stores to window shop in. It gets crazy packed during the summer months, and there’s usually a steady stream of consumers out and about. Note this outlet can be intimidating if you’ve never been there, and there’s a fair bit of walking involved. Driving? There’s ample parking. Otherwise, just get on that charter bus when it’s time to leave. Not a bad outlet mall, if you’re into those.

A few good stores. But nothing compared to the outlets on the Eastern Shore. Or pretty much anywhere else. Further proof that PA sucks.

One of the two better outlet centers in Lancaster.
