Great service, friendly environment, large variety of delicious authentic food. The chorizo tacos are the best. I was too full to try the desserts but I’m sure they are delicious.

A family member recently moved to the area and being new to Lancaster, we immediately went to Unilocal to find a great Mexican place because sometimes you just need some chips and queso! Unfortunately, this place left much to be desired. We took a look at the menu before heading to Cocina Mexicanna(the two A’s should have thrown us off) and thought it was your typical Mexican restaurant, but boy were we surprised. First, you have to purchase your chips and salsa for $ 3.25. And it is pico, because they don’t have salsa. The waiter brings about 15 chips, that look and taste like pita chips directly from a grocery store. The food, disgusting. My «chimichanga» was canned chicken with some cheese and then thrown in the microwave. There were no vegetables, no guacamole, no sour cream. My family member ordered a taco salad, it was lettuce and chicken, no salsa, no vegetables, no cheese. I was extremely disappointed and want to make sure that others know what they are getting into before stopping in!

First off the place has no waiters, you have to get your food first from a cafeteria like setting. It’s really great cultural food I suggest the steak and yellow rice with beans. It’s right off of a main road and the place is pretty nice its past the corner restaurant. It’s reasonably priced and great for a family!

Just had a quick dinner and I must say the green enchiladas were excellent if you like it spicy. I skipped on the rice but did have the retried beans and they were also great! The service was excellent and I they were super quick! Will be back next time I am in town.

Cheap, authentic Mexican food. Tremendously delicious. I love hot and spicy food which this restaurant caters for; they have their very own sauces. I’ve had their chicken burger and on another occasion I had their pineapple tacos which were mouthwatering to say the least. The atmosphere is drab, although it seems to fit into the home style, rustic feel of the restaurant. The delicious food and lackluster setting makes this a great place to chill with friends over a super cheap meal in a relaxing environment.

Delicious food and great service! Took my wife here and we each had tacos, guacamole, and Mexican Coke. Our server Alex made us feel welcomed and took our orders with a smile. Definitely will be coming back!

The most authentic Mexican I’ve eaten on the east coast! They make tamales two weeks out of the month… very delicious. Fresh avocados, plantains, cactus, and sauces and infused waters!

Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing, but I have definitely had better mexican food. While the service was good and our waiter was very friendly, I was really unimpressed by the food. I ordered the chicken taquitos as an appetizer and the taco salad for my entrée. The chicken in the taquitos was very dry, and there was no sauce to dip them in. They were also very small and rolled with a thick shell that was hard to bite into. The taco salad was also disappointing. I was expecting a warm salad with chicken and lots of cheese and refried beans in the shell. The salad that came out was in a shell, but it was essentially just lettuce and was more like a house salad I would order at an American restaurant. The chicken on the salad was also cold and unflavorful. The prices were right, but I’m not sure I’ll be coming back here again.

Great, authentic Mexican food! We had the nachos and two different tacos, fish and… one with chicken, avocado and cactus! All of it was delicious, fresh, made to order, with a great price. Highly recommend if you’re in the area.

Hands down best Mexican food around! Such a nice warm atmosphere. This may be the best bang for your buck too! Now let me tell you about the Cemitas Pablano Torta, I usually get with pollo… We travel to find good food especially sandwhiches, the Torta’s they put together here may be the best overall«sandwhich» I have ever had. Try it!

Loved that it was authentic Mexican food but service is everything to me. The food was delicious but service not so much. I got a chicken chimichanga and did not like the way the chicken tasted. When I asked to swap it for something I liked they told me I still had to pay for it even though I didn’t eat it because«no one else had a problem with it»(direct quote from the manager). My server told me that there was nothing wrong with it so I still had to pay. I didn’t mind paying for something that I liked but I didn’t like the chicken. Be careful of you come here. I sent my food back not eaten and asked for the check. I would never come back.

After reading some of the reviews I wasn’t sure about this place but I was determined to try it. I recently moved from Los Angeles and have been craving Mexican food. It was me the hubby and our 3 kids all of us love Mexican food. So we ordered a little disappointed that you are not served chips and salsa. But we ordered two baskets of chips .95 cents a basket. Totally worth it. Chips are really good. The kids meals are perfect kid portions and well priced. I got two carnitas tacos… The carnitas was perfect for me. But I don’t like spicy. Overall the food was decent and it’s not expensive. If you are not from the area you will most likely be disappointed. I will probably eat here again but won’t be a frequent customer. I’m still in search for the perfect Mexican food…

This review is solely on the horchata. Cheap and refreshing, it’s even cheaper than the prices in Barcelona! $ 1.25 for a large, can’t get any better than that. I’ve had horchata twice in my life, once in Barcelona and once in Providence. I’ve never had anything cheaper than $ 2 for horchata. The cinnamon flavor is pretty strong at Cocina Mexicana. It was a little too sweet for me but other than that, it’s pretty good. I’d love to come back to try the food here though, all the items on the menu sound really appetizing!

Five stars. Boom. This is easily my favorite restaurant in Lancaster city. It’s authenticity is not to be debated. Lucy is Mexican and so is her food. And it’s good. I’ve been around the states a good bit and, the southwest not withstanding, this is one of the best Mexican joints I’ve ever found. The atmosphere is great too. Yellow walls adorned by fun pottery, great photographs and colorful blankets. They alway have some mix playing of great Mexican music too. Sometimes I’ll eat here two or three days in a row, but that’s just me. Visit Lucy.

Any one who puts less then 4 stars for this place has zero meter for value. The portions here are not AMERICAN but it’s because the food is not american. It’s real life mexican food with stellar ingredients and tops attention to flavor. The quac is out of control good. It’s the only place in lancaster where the flavor isn’t too lemony. Tacos are a great way to go and you pay something like $ 2 for each so get 3. Mix and match them too. The flautas are my entrée choice. Their beans are like none I’ve ever had; soupy but good soupy. If you want eggs the huevos is an obvious choice. Chiliquiles are great too. Get the flan for desert. Coke with real sugar here. What else… Tamales vary from week to week so check that on the special board Best Mexican in Lancaster.

Best Mexican food in town. This isn’t a burrito joint. This is the closest you’ll get around here to California style Mexican food

It’s a go to spot to satisfy our huarache, taco and torta fix. The preparation is always spot on, and the new menu items made this place a 2x a week spot. If you haven’t experienced the maiz con rajas taco, you are missing out.

This place makes the best Mexican(specifically the Oaxaca derived dishes) food in the county. Along with brilliant tacos and tortas, you will find amazing soups and mole sauces. Some of the reviewers have said that the food isn’t «authentic» because of the spice levels… to them I say, Mexico is a quite large country with varied regional cuisines, this just isn’t the regional cuisine you’re used to. Also the owner is a sweetheart and deserves the praise others have given her.
