Not sure why I keep going back! Maybe because my girls beg for donuts? This place is seriously a sorry excuse for donuts or anything for that matter! I realize that the owners are well liked in the community but their products are sub-par at best. The donuts are either over fried & crunchy or are not uniform in size. The chocolate donuts are much smaller than the glazed donuts. The kolaches are small, nasty and over priced for what you get. It’s worth the drive to Copperas Cove to get Shipley’s.

This place is horrendous compared to Shipley’s or Jack-n-Jill. Nothing special about these donuts. They taste like donuts you would buy from HEB. Gross! I walked in one morning a while back and asked for a few glazed donuts for my family and I. The lady put the donuts in the microwave to heat them up. Ummm? Ok then. Also, the parking lot is a joke. If you actually want good donuts, take the extra time and drive to Cove!

Ordered donuts at 9AM on a Saturday, was told there were no chocolate or glazed donuts available. This being the Donut Palace, I did not expect such a situation. So I ordered 2 breakfast tacos, the staple of Texas breakfast, and a few minutes later received two breakfast tacos that were warm on the ends and completely frozen in the middle. Not just frozen inside, but the entire middle of the tacos was cold and hard. I wish they had just told me they were out of tacos too. It’s rare that a place makes me regret skipping McDonald’s. You have sullied the name of Donut Palaces everywhere.

Ordered ½ dozen kolaches to go– ½ normal, ½ jalapeño. Tasted great, good portion size, and the service was extremely quick. Seemed a bit pricy– added up to a little over $ 9, but I was hungry and in a hurry so I went with it.

Ordered sausage wraps, breakfast sandwiches and donuts. Everything was great and service was polite. I will stop again when I’m passing through area.

They’re open on holidays, which is convenient. My husband likes their donuts. I usually get a sausage wrap. I guess I’ve been spoiled. My old donut shop, Daylite, offered Elgin sausage in their wraps. The wraps here had such fatty contents they could have been using Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage. Yuck. But owner and cashier were friendly, and they have a good selection and prices.

Great Donuts! Definitely a place to stop if you like a good donut!
