Today was my first visit to Village Coffee Roasters and I am impressed! If I didn’t live an hour away I would hang out here! It’s got a nice, friendly low key vibe, a friendly knowledgable staff, every kind of «Milk» under the sun, yummy treats — both Gluten Free and regular, Fresh Roasted Coffee Beans by the pound(I saw the roaster!) and a wonderful selection of gifts galore! Love it!

I find that the staff on the coffee side of the shop is a little aloof, but it’s not bad. I was a bit taken aback when I asked one of the people behind the counter how dark a particular roast was and they replied with, «I don’t know,» and left it at that. Didn’t bother to try to find out or anything. That said, the tea side of the shop(which is generally what I go in there for) is AMAZING. They have a huge selection of wonderful, delicious teas, and the staff has always been very helpful and friendly. They’ve even introduced me to a couple new teas(new to me, anyway), and they fixed my wife up with a perfect, relaxing«night time» tea. Overall, this place is worth adding into your regular rotation. Oh, and the owner is awesome. Very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable.

Great coffee. Friendly, quick, unpretentious service. Casual, clean place without hipsters tapping away at their manifestos Wish they had a drive through, and cant say I’m much for all the knickknacks. Good muffins and a quiet anonymous place to sit/meet/converse

I went here for the first time today, and enjoyed a very delicious cup of coffee. Actually, it was a breve hazelnut latte. This store was very clean and had an assortment of goodies, I didn’t have enough time to look, but everything was interesting enough to want to go back and check it out some more. The staff was very friendly, and I enjoy the ambience overall all.

This place is great. I love the tea sets along the wall and the coffee is great. The people are really nice and make beautiful coffee art! I would come here more often if there was a drive-thru, I hate to take my crazy two year old out to grab coffee. Lol.

Locally-owned business? Check. Polite staff that is prompt, courteous, and caring? Check. Good prices? Check. A good cup of coffee every single time, no matter when? CHECK. I go out of my way to come here. I am so glad that there are many people who love this coffee shop as much as I do. Support the local business, avoid the chains, get better coffee from happier people, and do so for less money. Will be back always. Have been doing so for years.

I like this place because it isn’t a generic hipster coffee shop, it’s a real down-to-earth coffee shop. Apparently they roast their own beans too and they have more syrups than I’ve ever seen in any coffee shop. So why the low rating? It does pain me to say it but I haven’t had a great cup of coffee here. They’ve all been fine, but they typically don’t have the same depth in their coffee that my favorite Denver shops do. It’s that level just below places like Corvus or Sweet Bloom. Two more unusual complaints include how often they have ran out of drip coffee and made me an Americano instead. I don’t like Americano. The other complaint is that their coffee is unusually hot. All coffee shops serve their coffee hot, but theirs seems to be brewed at an unusually high temperature. Hundreds of coffee shops and I’ve never had my coffee served that hot. So yeah, bottom line, neat place but not the best. I’ll probably be a regular for years though given its proximity and variety.

The village roaster is a pretty cool coffee shop with tons of tea and coffee knickknacks to supreme espresso makers. It is well lit and the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Friendliness here is a hit or miss though. I have never been treated rudely and perhaps caught the staff on an off or tired day or two(I get it). The varieties here are sometimes overwhelming but the staff is good about asking you what you like in coffee/teas and point you in the right direction. One of these days, I may cough-ee(had to do it) up the money and get the pure kona roast. The café part of the shop is great. They make a mean roasted marshmallow breve. The espresso drinks are well balanced, smooth and flavorful; the espresso is not overwhelming nor over roasted. The drip seems to always be robust in flavor and never bitter or rough on the taste buds. Definitely worth going to.

This place was highly recommended to me by a friend. Dumb as it sounds, one of my big complaints this year has been coffee. I adore a great cup of coffee, but I have yet to produce a cup of coffee at home that I truly LOVE. I drink decaf which likely adds to the challenge. I showed up here and shared my struggle. I explained how I make coffee at home — either french press or pour over. I explained what I’m looking for in terms of body and flavor. I drove home with ½ pound of Brazil Decaf whole bean and ½ pound of Scandinavian Decaf whole bean. I also had them make me a 20oz pour over of the Brazil Decaf for the ride home. I was anxious to try it. I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed a drive home as much as the one from this coffee shop. The Brazil Decaf is fantastic. I can’t wait to try the Scandinavian Decaf. I truly appreciate the time they took to help me identify the right decaf for me.

I visit Village Roster at least once a month. I always order Italian soda peach and Irish cream with cream, really delicious. They also have lovely mugs and tea kettles for gifts.

Reasonable prices, friendly service– What’s not to like? Their coffee cup selection is very clever if you are looking for a gift for a coffee lover. They also have an interesting selection of spices for sale.

I can only speak to the coffee beans and spices– haven’t bought a beverage or tried the food yet. This is now my go-to for coffee beans. The roasts are solid, beans are fresh and they have a few options you don’t see too often. As one who’s worked for small roasters in the past, I’m a fan. Great customer service, and the bulk/loose spices section has excellent options at a great price.

NOT impressed. There was nearly no seating, and when I asked for a hot cocoa made with almond milk, I was instructed to «pick a packet off the shelf.» Ummm… what? I got a mocha, but wasn’t impressed with the quality. However, the staff was incredibly helpful and kind, which is why I didn’t give this place a one-star review. With an awesome staff, I feel like they could have a great thing going… if they’d only increase their standards in the drinks department. This is Denver!

I was really excited to find a local family owned coffee roaster that had great prices on their bulk coffee. Unfortunately the coffee is not of very good quality. I’ve tried two different coffees of their mild to medium roast and both were not good at all. And they serve their coffee in styrofoam cups… Come on guys, a little bit of environmental sensibility? The drip coffee and espresso drinks are not that great either. Sorry guys, I’m not coming back.

As far as espresso beverage quality, very low(I’m accustomed to SCAA standards). It’s unfortunate because the service was nice and they were making sure to clarify what we wanted. We ordered two«small» cappuccinos for here and a shot of espresso. Our cappuccinos were served in two different cups(one 12 is mug and a traditional 10 oz cup). Temperature was tolerable but the espresso was just plain bad. It tasted dirty like they haven’t cleaned their machine or portafilters regularly. The shot of espresso was served in a standard demitasse cup but it did not look appealing at all. The crema was chunky with coffee grounds. Overall, I’m sure they’re a great local coffee shop and their drip coffee is fine. But honestly, my stomach was turning after a sip of my «cappuccino».
