Pretty good Korean for around here, and they specialize in seafood noodle soup. The portions are great(I usually take home leftovers), and prices reasonable. I’ve had the dolsot bibimbap, bulgogi, and clam tofu soup. The servers are friendly, helpful, and kind. Not bad, Lakewood.

Go for the clam broth noodle. Some of the best pancake around. Nice late night place for a meal. Too Bad. As of August 2013. This place is now closed. Another Resturant being built at this place.

Lunch Special is only $ 5.99! The kalgooksu was perfect for a rainy day! Along with the kimchee jigae.

Cheap eats for the $ 5.99 Bagirock Kalgooksu. I stop by here every time I visit Seattle to get my fix. There is no place on Oregon that can make this as good as theirs. Also comes with side dishes and fresh kim chee. I agree with some of the reviews on how good it is.

came here for lunch on a weekday to try it out. we ordered the clams with fresh noodle soup, Mandoo, and chicken fried rice. i know. why fried rice at a Korean restaurant, but my husband is going through a fried rice phase right now! the noodle was really good. the soup was a little bland but overall pretty good. the Mandoo was the biggest thing Ive ever seen wrapped up into a big ball of goodness! the fried rice was decent. and the side dishes was good. we even got refills on them which was great! the prices was really cheap too! and the service was great. the four ladies reminded me of family in the kitchen. they had their lunch while we were eating ours. laughing and talking while enjoying their food!

We hit this place up on a windy and rainy night, perfect time to get some hot stuff in the stomach and warm the body and soul up! Gramps, Grams and I luv our Korean Soul food! Granted we must have been Korean in another lifetime… Walked in about 7-ish, the place was basically empty, with a couple just wrapping up their dinner. The waitress was deep in conversation with this couple but was able to address us and get us seated. Menus and corn-tea served we tackled the menu, it had plenty of clear descriptions in English, which was a good thing as our waitress spoke limited«Engrish»…lol… After making our pretty standard order, hot soft tofu soup, seafood pancake, mandu, Bibimbap and bulgogi, we sat back to watch some Korean soap-opera with sub-titles…whew… Banchan came out in a flash once our order was in, pretty standard affair, no offers on refills, but that’s okay as plenty of food was ordered. The pancake was next to come out, nice looking pancake, but sadly they used fake-crab cake as the«seafood», I prefer the real stuff, i.e. octopus. Still it had decent flavor and was served on a sizzling cast-iron skillet so we left it to sit and cook a bit longer, as we like it more on the crunchy side, so we were happy. Hot tofu soup came out piping hot, plenty of flavor and while I asked for it on the«mild» side for Gramps, to me and Grams it was not for the spice-wimps, even toned down. Bibimbap was pretty good, a bit small-ish in the serving size but had decent flavor, bulgogi was nicely portioned along with the mandu. Mandu had a nice fresh-ish flavor to it, insides were tasty, it could have been heated a bit longer but I’m picky that way. One down side for me was the interior of the place, it was sweltering in there, the heat was on HIGH, and I was sweating both from the blast furnace and the spice of the food… looking back it was a nice work out… lol…that was a real minor issue… In reality 3.5 Unilocal stars, for the experience, we had to laugh a bit amongst ourselves, my Mom attempted to converse with our waitress, and tell her about how we found this place via Unilocal… she didn’t get it, nor wish to… Cheap eats, and it was a nice clean place, I’d go back if I’m in da Lakewood K-town hood!

Decent customer service. Totally doable on a power lunch hour. Everything I tried was pretty good but not the best I’ve ever had… I guess I have Korean food from Korea in my comparison palate. * Seafood pancake was pretty good. * Bibimgooksu was pretty good. * Bajirak kalguksu is pretty good. P. S. It’s fun, clean and worth a try.

I have been here a couple times, and it’s been great. It smells amazing inside, and the tea they serve is really good. The dolsot bibimbap is soooo good and unbelievably cheap. Actually, all of their dishes are really cheap. My fiancée and I got the same amount of banchan dishes as other tables that had more people seated at them, and our waitress was fine– prompt and helpful. You get a nice light soup with your entrée, so with that, the tea, and the banchan, two people could split an entrée, or an entrée and an appetizer. The seafood pancake is great, the gyoza is great, and the cold noodles too.

I now would like to give this place a 3.5 but I cannot so I still have to give it 3 stars. I came back here on necessity since 2 of my other places were closed since it was after 11. Now this place used to stay open till 2am, not anymore, they closed at 11… Oopps, they didn’t mind which was super cool of them. Most of the reason why these guys get an A-OK from me is be due because of the surrounding restaurants. The soon-dubu is alright, but far from the best which is located not too far from here :) Their seafood dishes do taste fresh though. I really liked the Dolsot Bi Bim Bap, but that is pretty hard to mess up. This particular visit I had ordered a side of steamed mandu, they were huge but came with no dipping sauce, I would rate the mandu a 3 stars. The banchan was minimal and they do not replenish once gone. The prices are decent. No refills made, but this is an Asian tradition.

They’re known for their Bagirock Kalgooksu(what a mouthful huh? this is all phonetic mind you) — and it’s fresh, genuine and hits every cold spot in your body. Bagirock is the clams/shellfish and Kalgooksu are the wheat flour noodles, all in a broth that tastes like the sea — in a GOOD way. Comes with: — At least 2 dozen little clams — Crumbling potatoes, green onions, thick homemade rice noodles — Steaming, flavorful broth And it’s $ 5.99! You could get something Venti-sized at Starbucks for that price. The kimchi is also some of the best I’ve had. It isn’t exactly the place to take a nice date but certainly fabulous for casual lunches. Plus the chef hails from Korea, kudos, kudos.

I love this place! Especially when I want something to warm me up in a cold day. I have never eaten inside the restaurant thought, just to-go. But even if you get it to-go drive back to work, the noodles are still chewy and the soup still warm. Next time you want something to fill the stomach AND keep you warm, I suggest you go here.

Best Korean(Kalguksoo) in the state. We usually get the Korean Kalguksoo of course and then have a side of the Korean Bosam which is very good except sometimes the oysters that are on the side come out frozen. Have tried about half of the dishes served there and they were all excellent to very good.

Healthy, tasty, colorful, spicy and authentic Korean food. Prices very cheap for such high quality food. It’s not a fancy place but it is where the Korean locals eat.(I was the only non-Korean in the place — but that will change when the word gets out) This establishment is right in the heart of the Korean end of Tacoma where there is lots of ethnic food to chose from. The fact this place is thriving with the intense competition speaks to the quality of their product.

Super cheap and open late… until 2 am! My mom and I love this place. We’ve eaten the clam soup, bulgolgi, and dumplings, and maybe one other thing. We’re not experts on Korean food or anything, but there are always plenty of Korean customers to prove the food is good. The service is friendly. The amount of sides you get with your meal is amazing… this is no Thai – pay an extra $ 2 for rice outfit– they give you rice, kim-chee, and tons of other extras to try.

My wife and I were wandering around the parking lot of a zoo south of Seattle, when I saw a business card on the ground. It was for this restaurant. Since we were still new to the area and were getting tired of eating at Paldo World all the time, we decided to check this place out. Lakewood is NOT a pretty area. It looks like mankind did all they could to cut the trees down and make things as ugly as possible here. As for the restaurant, the ambience is not that great, though it does bring back pleasant memories of my days in Korea. But the food is fantastic. Home-made noodles in a light clam broth. Hand-made wahng-mandoo(large meat dumplings). And it’s pretty darn cheap, too! Now, if it weren’t so darn far!
