A classic dive bar. Always a little bit of a strange crowd but it’s really open and cheap. Darts and lots of space to dance around or do whatever. Friendly bartenders. Never blows me away but I always have a fun night here!

Great dive bar, something a little scary about it all, but at the same time strangely soothing.

Lakewood’s very own purgatory for alcoholics. As much as this place revolts me — and it absolutely should — there is something that is still semi-inviting about the place. It’s dark, has persons of questionable content and character, and cheap booze: the three main ingredient for a dive bar. From the overly squeaky door that makes everybody turn around when you walk in, to the bathrooms that haven’t been cleaned since who knows when, to the ZZ Top playing on the jukebox this place just fills that niche of being a bar where you can sit peacefully and drown your sorrows — at least until the drunk next to you starts to ramble on about his life. Over the years the sign out front has changed from The Cranford, to the Ultimate Sports Bar, and now as the long running Bobby O’s. It’s purpose — no matter the name — is to throw back some booze and forget about what ails you. The menu is your standard stomach ache inducing deep fried bar food, and I remember at one time they even offered shrimp cocktail — frozen not fresh of course. To put it simply… nothing ever good has come from visiting Bobby O’s, and that’s exactly why they remain in business.

This used to be one of the premier hillbilly bars(Billy-Bars) of Lakewood. I returned not too long ago and was shocked. There are flat screens and the interior was completely renovated. There were not more than 4 hillbillies in the entire joint and there were a bunch of bogus yuppies celebrating a birthday. I could not believe it. No where is safe. First they renovated the Riverwood and ruined it, now Bobby O’s. There are a few stragglers smoking cigarettes outside during happy hour on weekdays. Other than that, this place lost its appeal.
