I have been to a couple of Colombian places in the area, one by Bradley Beach and the other one in Toms River and figured I’ll try this one out Drinks: Sangria, don’t bother, tasteless, blend, too much ice and definitely not worth the $ 24 for a large pitcher. Ordered a couple of Stella on tap to wash the taste away Appetizer: to stones Macarena — it’s ok, not much taste to it and only 3 pieces came with it and over prices for $ 9.99, will try other appetizer the next time. The Empanadas are good though and tasty, a must try Dinner: Bandeja Compensina — nice portion and everything is good with this dish, arroz ranchero a la Macarena, Carne Asada and we all enjoyed the main meal and brought some of the food home. On the menu, it states they will charge a 15% gratuities for a party of 6 and when I took a second look at the bills. They included the tip already and there were only four onus so beware and double check or else we would have given a 35% tip. I will give the place another try since the food was good.

We saw an on in LUNJ for this restaurant and decided to try it out. As you walk in there is a nice fully stocked bar and super friendly bar tenders. Making you feel at home right away and getting your drinks quickly. The menu of the restaurant is vary ample with great colombian choices and great prices. Gotta try the Tostones Macarena. These twice fried plaintains are topped with a very healthy serving of Chorizo, Chicken and Guacamole.(Yep guacamole). Very savory! We tried some other typical dishes like Bandeja Paisa, chicken corn chowder, empanadas, and the taste was very authentic Colombian and very fresh. The owners gave me a wonderful tool of their facilities and had the opportunity to chat briefly with the chef(on a busy night) and complimented his staff for a wonderful meal. This is a family type restaurant and plenty of tables, a staff desirous to serve you and make you feel as though you have walked in their home. Pay them a visit and you will be happy you did.

I’ve been there a few times now with my family. My small kids love the food. The sancocho is delicious. The chicharon is what it should be with the tostones. We’ve had the typical dishes the steak is very flavorful as are the beans. Most restaurants don’t add much flavor to beans But this place really does care for the quality of their food! There fresh juices are all natural fruit none of that syrup crap. We really enjoy this place and have made it one of our regular places to Go!

Great, friendly people and authentic food. I can’t say thank you enough for waiting when I had an issue finding the place!(It’s right next to the«LOL» liquor store, perhaps one downside as the people outside were very shady but I digress.) The fajitas themselves were delicious. Fresh corn tortillas paired with wonderfully-cooked meats. Normally you’d have to travel to Newark for authenticity at this level. I was expecting a tad more meat since many of the options for South American cuisine in Newark boast exceedingly huge potions but it all tasted tender and very good. The salad could use some work and the beans were a bit too moist, but the rest of the sides were great. Plantains are done as well as anywhere else I’ve had them, and the rice was fantastic — I very rarely eat a sizable portion of rice but I cleaned the container!

Ok… a new restaurant in Brick. technically Lakewood. I am thinking authentic ethnic cuisine with all(3) 5 star reviews. Praise the Lord… This is something very badly needed in the Brick Township desert of chain restaurants. Well…the 5 star reviews are a mystery for starters. The food was OK at best. Ordered the BANDEJACAMPESINA. Carna Asada and Chicarrones are the proteins with sides of the usual rice and beans, plantains, & salad. But the quality was only acceptable, multiple rungs away from 5 stars IMHO. The Carna Asada, that is grilled top round steak to the gringoes, was thin and chewy… and looked like it had been pounded with a meat tenderizer(which was, no doubt, a good idea). It did have an ok grilled note, but it was far from anything I would order again. As for the rice and beans, I make better using canned beans. The salad was just iceberg lettuce, a few cucumber slices and a piece of un-peeled avocado… granted the salad is not why one would order this. The one standout was the chicharrones. The fried pork skin was very good, meaty & chewy toward the bottom and deliciously greasy(in a good way) and crisp toward the top of the skin. Also, they have a bar with reasonably priced drinks and a TV looks like a good place to hang out and drink. Unless I just need quick sustenance, when I pay to eat out, I expect food that A.) I can’t make better myself, and/or B.) really curls my toes. Unless you are going to just drink and eat chiccarones, this place falls short. I know that there is a lack of good eating establishments in the area, so expectations tend to be low. I don’t know about the other reviewers’ standards, but 5 Stars… come’n? Also, when I looked at the other 3 reviewers, I noticed that none of them had over 4 Unilocal reviews. If I were cynical, I would suspect that there were other factors than simply the food involved in the glowing reviews.

My Colombian wife and I decided to check out this new restaurant which is so close to our house in Brick. The place is spacious, clean, and welcoming. It is a sit down restaurant with a full bar. The bar is very nice and has a plethora of TVs. The star of the show was the food! The food is authentic Colombian and delicious! The service was great and the staff will describe the menu options to you if you are new to Latin food. Salud!!!
