Went there but did not enter because of bacteria-level warning in the water and the $ 10 cover charge. Call or check their website before making the trek out! FYI, Reimers Ranch Park and some place called Westcave are very near by. On the drive back to the city, I hit up Proof and Cooper for a burger and fried chicken. As good, if not better, as any place in the city.

Nice shaded trails, flowing green belts and auxiliary trails for a more strenuous hike or semi-technical mountain biking. Free access and centrally located.

Great trails for hiking and running. Being a beginner runner, inclines are not my friend. This place has enough trail to give you a great run without having to do the up and down circuit, but also has the option for more advanced runners who appreciate the up and down intervals. Trails offer lots of scenery — waterfalls, lookout tower, caves, etc. Plus it’s not far from civilization so it gives a sense of safety if you have an emergency(like passing out from running when you know you have 0 cardio health and fitness in you). Overall, my favorite place to act healthy!

This is a great public space to have available. Nice open trails good footing for running and wide enough to bike without running over other walkers or runners, the steeper trails at the back side of the canyon are great too.

We are quite lucky to live close to this beautiful greenbelt. Not as large as others in Austin, but very diverse and beautiful. And it’s taken care of VERY nicely. It has lower trails which are very easy on foot, very easy by bike, and even stroller-friendly. It also has a couple of upper trails that are great for breaking a good sweat on foot, or for the mountain biker who like a challenge. Mountain bikers will find that most of the terrain is very smooth down low, and only a little rocky on the higher trails. It even has a water fountain near the top of one of the main trails, and the water actually tastes pretty decent! Lots of dog walkers. Lots of friendly people. Busiest in the mornings. They even have lots of little markers along the trail to help you find your way back if you get lost(which usually isn’t too much of a problem, because most of the trails are fairly linear).

I have been discovering some new great trails in the Lakeway area and this one is pretty awesome despite the occasional glimpse of a multi million dollar backyard. The main 2 mile trail(the red trail) is well maintained by community volunteers with an additional 2 miles round trip(green trail) of ruffer terrain with views of Lake Travis in addition to beautiful waterfalls. This trail is not the best in Austin by any means. But, it is worth the drive just to check out a new trail and easy hike/walk and to view the beautiful waterfalls(see my pics).
