Schneiderman’s Furniture

My wife and I will never shop here again! Two summers ago we ordered a suite of fairly high-​end (expensive) furniture for our new home. We had planned to entertain guests a few weeks after placing the order. We were assured that the backordered three bar stools would arrive in time (the rest being on hand.) Over the next few days we were told, in progressively apologetic terms that the order, it turns out, was literally on a slow boat from China, as a part of a container load of furniture coming to the USA. Those bar stools arrived over two months after placing the order. This is something that I am certain the company knew day one.
Fast forward to today. We went to the showroom in Lakeville thinking we’d give them one more chance. We had purchased furniture from the home store in Meadowlands, the Duluth store, and now Lakeville and generally liked the quality of the items we bought. My wife wanted a recliner that fit her. We wound up with a floor model for which there were no more in stock. We were given a slight discount and made the purchase, based on being able to pick it up at the distribution center in Burnsville, which is very convenient, as opposed to the 30 mile round trip to Lakeville. We were assured that the recliner will be ready for us on Tuesday (this was a Saturday.) On Monday we got a fairly snotty message from Phil (last name garbled) the store manager that said the salesperson «entered some numbers wrong so the recliner would not be at the distribution center tomorrow and you can pick it up at the store.» He further went on to say that if we wanted to pick it up at the distibution center it would take a week longer. No apology, just a straight, matter of fact, here it is like it or lump it!
We have waited too long for our furniture to be ready for pickup! I am certain that the fault was not the sales clerk’s but that they simply forgot to transport the item to the center and were making excuses! I cancelled the order. Due to the last two times of having been lied to about our delivery we will not do business with them again!

I haven’t bought anything yet but spent 75 minutes with Randy Larson and he was probably the nicest, most helpful furniture salesman I have ever met. Looking forward to working with him. No pressure, just great ideas!
