Portions are very generous and delicious! However, like the menu says, it takes a little longer to prepare. I wish they were a little more kid friendly with smaller drink cups, maybe paper and crayons for coloring while we wait…

Visited this place and had the bread, calamari, spinach stuff mushrooms and chicken meatballs for appetizers. All came relatively quick and made from scratch. Everything was excellent. Now my group ordered 3 pizzas and I forgot their names but ALL were good and worth the 15 – 20 mins wait times. They even state in their menu that the pizza pie have a longer wait time but it will be worth the wait. I totally recommend this plac anyday!

Until ownership steps up & gets the management & the wait staff issue figured out I would eat elsewhere. The food is decent, if you get what you ordered. There is no accountability for screw ups in this place. Don’t expect them to make it right either.

Best pizza in Lakeland, without a doubt. We tried it once, loved it, and now we’re regulars. Food is fresh and tasty. Service is welcoming. Our 5 year old son enjoys their kid’s pizza and we get to relax in a nice setting with good food and wine and sometimes music. The lavash is not to be missed, or any of the Mediterranean items on the menu for that matter. Love Anticos!

I dined at Antico Wood Fired Pizzeria on a slow Saturday afternoon, with 4 friends. We decided to order two large House Pizzas, one with thin crust, the other with regular. They were ready quickly, and were delicious. We all agreed that we’ve never had a better pizza. Our server, Amanda, was cheerful and friendly. The owner chatted with us, and shared his story, as well as some pics of his construction of the wood fired oven. He then treated us to a round of cannolis, which were also delicious. We took home an order of marinated olives, which we served as a party appetizer later. Again, delicious. This is our new favorite restaurant in Lakeland.

I was excited when my friend recommended this pizza restaurant and especially since it is wood fired. The only other time I have had wood fired pizza was at Anthony’s and i fell in love with it(if only it wasn’t a 45 minute drive from here) but anyways, my boyfriend and I tried this restaurant yesterday. First of all we walked in and immediately the restaurant was empty, we were the only customers there. I should have seen this as a sign but we went ahead and sat down. The waitress wasn’t very attentive it was obvious she didn’t want to be there. She wasn’t very friendly, but she wasn’t awful either. We started out with an appetizer eggplant type hummus with pita bread and their own homemade bread. It was okay. Nothing special, and we would not order it again. Too much bread in my opinion with not enough flavor. Secondly we ordered pizza with chicken, salami, and sausage, it was one of their specialty pizzas. When she brought it out it was disappointing to look at. There was barely any sauce, I like a lot of sauce. It was smaller than Anthony’s pizza(I guess we are just spoiled) and the flavor was okay… but really you have to be pretty awful to mess up pizza. But most disappointing of all were the toppings. Not fresh and certainly not enough. My boyfriend paid $ 35(tip added) for everything. This quality of food was not worth it to me. We will not be back. I rather drive to Orlando for better quality pizza or Primos Pizzeria here in Lakealnd even… although it is Chicago style but much better then here.

IMO — best pizza in Lakeland! First time visit after getting many recommendations. Not disappointed in the food or service. Will definitely be back to try out the other items. We enjoyed the chicken meatballs, tulimaki, Stan pizza and salsiccia calzone and white sangria. Tammy is amazing — knowledgable — personable — and funny. Will be back. Plus — the portions were so large I have lunch for the next several days.

New Haven fresh clams, carmelized onions and garlic pizza. The flavors combined with a fantastic crust cooked in a wood fired oven. WOOOOOOOOW! the onions give it a sweet taste and the clams and garlic give you a savory taste. They have a good selection of pizzas. The service was friendly and our server was very, very professional handling 6 – 7 tables. Then for apps the do this mediterranean hot and cold small plates. We had falafels(ground chick pea balls deep fried) and baba ghannoush(roasted eggplant spread) with homemade pitas were amazing. I can’t wait to go back. PS prices are fair for such quality

So I tried Antico again. I guess I can’t help myself, the food is actually pretty good. But I had another poor experience with takeout yesterday and I just cannot recommend this place. My wife and I were heading in from a day trip and decided to order takeout from here. We called at 6:12, ordered gnocchi and a large pizza, and were told it would take 15 – 20 minutes. We arrived at 6:30, and I went in to grab the food while my wife waited in the car. The gnocchi was done, but the pizza was not. I paid and the waitress at the bar apologized and it should be a few minutes. I did not end up leaving with the food until 7:05. Apparently the to-go order before me(who was already there when I got there, sitting at the bar and waiting) ended up with my pizza because the two guys making it made a mistake. So he left with my pizza, not that anyone said anything to me yet. Then the two guys began to argue that the to-go orders were messed up. Then another to-go order was placed over the phone for two pizzas. The woman for those arrived 15 minutes later and got them, and mine was still. not. done. At this point, and I apologize for the other patrons in the restaurant, but I raised a stink. And you know what I got? The poor kid who messed up the pizza sat down to talk to tell me what happened. That was it. No offer of any type of refund. No offer to replace the gnocchi that was ready and sitting out for 30+ minutes by that point. The kid did offer some garlic bread, but I told him that honestly I just wanted my pizza and go, I didn’t want to have to wait for that to be made. And there were only I believe three tables seated at the restaurant. So it took 50 minutes from when I placed the order on the phone to when I left with it, with three tables in the restaurant and one to-go order in front of me. That needs to be the last time I go. As I said, it’s unfortunate because the food is good. But until someone steps up and straightens the place out in terms of service speed, and discounts/refunds for completely screwing up, I can’t recommend that anyone visit.

As one of the only places in Lakeland with vegan options, we’ve been here a few times. We’ve always known to expect bad/marginal at best service here, but the food has always been okay. Not great, but okay. Tonight took the cake. Our appetizer took 30+ minutes and I never actually received my entrée. Our poor waitress was on her first day, and certainly wasn’t perfect, but she tried. The owner took the cake – he came out after an hour of waiting for my spaghetti with sautéed vegetables(which he considered a a «difficult custom order» to tell me that, first, «an hour wasn’t that long to wait» for my «custom order» and second, this was all our waitresses fault. He’s insane. Take some responsibility for your poor food/service/restaurant. We won’t be back, and I suggest that if you want good food and good service to go somewhere else.

Lovely restaurant. All their pizzas are fabulous. Wonderful salads as well. Nice fresh flavor! The only negative I could say was I wish there were a few more choices as everything is so good! My son really likes seafood and I thought a shrimp scampi with pasta would be a good meal for him, but they didn’t have that on the menu. They have basic shrimp appetizers therefore a shrimp and pasta meal would be easy to add. A few more«mainstream» dishes to help round out the choices for younger children would be great. Update…I may have missed it before, but they have a great«classic style» pizza that my son loves!!! Great! 5stars now!

The food, atmosphere and service was excellent! We have been wanting to try their pizza and finally did today. I think this is our new favorite place. We had the Greek salad and paisano pizza and both were delicious. You can tell all the ingredients were fresh and prepared when ordered. If you are looking for a family atmosphere where you can get a great pizza, this is the place.

Excellent Bread but slightly better than average pizza. Interesting house made fennel sausage! Good local beer selection And have Lavash bread instead of pita! Fresh made right out of the oven.

We went there for lunch. Got the wood fired chicken wings, falafel and pizza. The chicken is obviously not seasoned with anything prior to going into the oven. Then, the sauce they use is oily and only mildly buffalo flavored. Overall, an odd combination and not something we would order again. The falafel itself was good however they sauced the plate with marinara so you really couldn’t enjoy the falafel because the sauce overpowered them. Another odd combination that ended up not being enjoyable. I told my server that I thought using the marinara was detracting from the dish. She simply responded«that is how they do it». The pizza was fair. I have had worse wood fired pizza but I have also certainly had better. In conclusion, I think their attempt at «creative» dishes like the chicken and falafel, simply don’t work. The pizza was decent but I think it’s a bit overpriced. In fact, considering the quality of the food, it’s all a little overpriced.

Been here 4 times. REALLY love it. Nothing like a good wood or coal pizza. We always start with the Lavash bread, a lovely big bubble with sesame seeds and accompanied with seasoned Garlic butter to spread. A MUST for our family. Pizza is always good. I usually ask them to put a little more burn on mine. Tonight’s was fantastic. Built our own. Added ricotta and then half spinach and half Italian sausage. 2 of the girls split a cheese calzone. LOVED it. As anywhere, calzones take longer to bake than an artisan pizza. When we waited a couple minutes for the calzone to come out before eating, the owner was right at our table to make sure everything was ok. It was, and we enjoyed our meal greatly. Friday nights when we have been there, there was a young man playing live jazz guitar with backing tracks. He is VERYGOOD and really added to the ambiance. Entire family liked him very much. We will be back soon and often! Hope to see you there!

The building was inviting but it looks like they ran out of money when it came to seating, tables looked cheap and the chairs were uncomfortable. The place was empty and lacked musical ambiance which led to an awkward dinning experience. The menu looked amazing. We ordered olives for an appetizer but they were still pitted, the bread was good. However, our 5 cheese pizza was easily the worst pizza we’ve ever had. As a whole we were disappointed especially considering how much potential the place has.

Great food, atmosphere and service. Wonderful pizza options including whole wheat crust and gluten free crust and cheese. The pizza was cooked wonderfully, and the ingredients were very fresh. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for delicious Italian food! I’ll def be back :-)
