For this little town my expectations were night for eating out. But this place is amazing ordered the Hawaiian pizza and pepperoni had a slice of each loved both — fresh made pizza! I asked my family«Is this pizza really good or is it because I’m pregnant and starving?» and they said«No it’s really good! «So before we head home we are eating lunch here to checkout the sandwiches & salads! Definitely recommend! We ate here before we took off home. I ordered the bacon blue cheese salad but customized it added chicken breast & skipped the bacon. Very good salad! Plus it’s all fresh & homemade, so that’s a plus!

Not the type of pizza or pasta I’m use to. Pasta was somewhat watery and unflavored, we had the Italian sausage, as far as the pizza goes I think I’d prefer to stop at Costco or even Dominos. Either, we ordered the wrong dishes or something went wrong but definitely not a place worth 4 stars. Will not be coming back.

The service was horrible, the place is dirty, well gross. The food was nasty. I can’t believe the reviews for this place. Don’t stop in this town, push on into Dunsmuir.

Two years in a row now we’ve made sure to come to Allyson’s Restaurant after hiking Mount Shasta. Cheryl is so sweet, and definitely gives her opinion on her food very kindly. I love the pizza, not many companies can compete. And the green tea smoothie with A Bison burger with bacon is to die for! Highly recommended!

On a road trip from WA my roommate and I went here after seeing only positive reviews but were very underwhelmed. The service was friendly but the food tastes very much like it came from a jar/package and was not home cooked as we were expecting. Very disappointing.

Great pizza! A wide variety of good beers, coffees and wine. On a nice day you can sit in the back patio with its funky décor. Cheryl the owner and her staff are very friendly and treat you like you’re from the good side of the family. Try the combo pizza!

We stopped here after a hike at Castle Crag. Ordered the Cashew Chicken salad. The salad was good but for a full order it was pretty lean. Don’t think there was over 3 oz of chicken. We were going to say something but the staff was so nice we too didn’t want to complain. The fudge cookie with ice cream made up for it though.

The very best pizza in norcal. I love the sauce and crust. This is hand made pie at its best. Fresh stuff and the topping to cheese ratio is perfect. We will driving up to Lakehead just to have dinner here on the regular now. Super friendly staff and great iced tea as well.

My husband and I did not enjoy our meals at all… however, the owner and waitress were so extremely friendly, chatty and genuine, that we didn’t have the heart to tell them. My burger had the worst flavor and was dry, and the all meat sandwich was mostly ham where you didn’t get all the flavors of the other meats.

We had a very warm welcome here when we stopped for a late lunch. Their menu is very comprehensive and can satisfy many tastes. The selections include many gluten free items. We had a pastrami sandwich, pizza and pasta. All of these were well done. The combo pizza was exceptional and well worth the trip. The pastrami sandwich was substantial and satisfying. The pasta was child’s size but a large amount and yummy. Dessert was homemade key lime pie. Homemade is always good! Service in this restaurant is fast and friendly. Staff are helpful but not overbearing. I will be returning here on future trips through this region

Oh yes! The Unilocal reviews did it for us. The pizza is cooked on a hot stone and has fresh veggies. They actually put whole artichoke hearts instead of just leaves. The ambiance is cute and service was very friendly. What a gem of a place to find. I’m so glad we pulled over and stopped here.

Maybe we hit an off day but this place was a fail on every way. We stopped because I’m really big on giving the local ma and pa type places a try. However, I’m disappointed with this one, which sucks because it’s soo cute and one lady that came through was incredible nice. Service. I’m VERY forgiving in this department, having been in the service industry previously. I know things happen, computers go down, it’s really really busy, etc. However our server not only looked and acted like we were inconveniencing her entirely, but our food took forever, and when we needed anything, including to want to order a dessert(kid with us) she avoided eye contact and walked with her head down, essentially ignoring us. We were the only customers at this time and the experience was frustrating. Food. Ugh. It was sub par. After taking a long time, the kids pasta came out… meh. Ok, but very small. My salad was weird odds and ends that were pulled on lettuce. Not really fantastic. And the hubbys sandwich was no good. I tried one bite and was not interested. We waited thirty minutes for the check, which I think was because the register was down, however instead of our server telling us, she just tucked her head down behind the counter and we could tell if she was texting or writing or what. We paid and left. This place has some great reviews and I hope our experience was heat one of those off days. I doubt we will be back though.

Poor Service — Waited over 10 minutes to get menues(we helped our selves). Then waited another 10 minutes or so to get drink orders made. Food order finally taken about 30 minutes into our visit. Food Service — Food came out sporadically, two of the orders came out incorrect, charged for a salad that we didn’t request. Food — Pasta was ‘eh ok’. Nothing great, sauce watery. Burger was cooked ok and seasoned decent however way to greasy as by the time I got it the bun was saturated and falling apart. The piece of whatever lettuce they put on it was ridiculous and just wrong. Check came before all the orders were on the table! Thats just plain silly It worked and we didn’t get sick, but we will never come back if in the area.

Had dinner at this adorable little place last night. Service was excellent! I really loved how the owner, waitresses and cooks all work together as a team. This place has a very home-y feel to it. Cheryl the owner came to greet us, and thanked us for visiting her restaurant. We had a couple of craft beers, veggie pizza, salmon burger, tortilla soup, kids spaghetti and salad with their home-made ranch dressing-so good! Everything tasted home-made! Comfort food if you will. The décor… Loved it! Very eclectic. The art work. Is all done by Cheryl. They really make you feel at home here. Great place to have lunch or dinner. Super sweet staff:) love love love!

Fabulous food, eclectic décor, and great service, too! Air conditioned«front room,» outside eating area, and larger inside dining area available. Had the bison burger – grilled on an outside grill less than 20 feet away and tasted great. The child’s pasta plate was perfect for our child. Great art by the owner, too! Worth the trip off the highway.

I was starving after hiking all day and pulled off the exit hoping to find a late lunch. I thought everything was closed and almost got back on the 5, when I noticed Allyson’s. From the outside I thought it was a pizza place and pizza didnt sound great at the moment but I am so glad I stopped here. The menu features a lot of options, besides pizza. I had the salmon burger(so satisfying!) and a cup of homemade clam chowder that was delish. Super charming, eclectic little spot with great food and true hospitality. I definitely recommend stopping here.
