This is the most awesome dim sum in the area. My fave restaurant. They are nice, too!

A second visit(earlier this year) was disappointing, but the third time may have been the charm. Yes, the wonton soup was a bit salty and the hot and sour soup overly vinegary, but the entrée that I ordered on this visit – shrimp paste and tofu casserole – may have been one of the most delicious Chinese dishes I’ve ever eaten. BTW, the regular fried rice accompanying the dish was forgettable. Our waitress was pleasant and service was prompt.

Food was okay. Nothing to rave about. Giving it one star because, after we paid the check, the waitress took the check and opened it to read how much we tipped. Which in my opinion you should not do in front of guests. That’s not even the upsetting part– 5 min later– as we were all talking, the waitress slams her hand on the table and told us to ‘leave’ because others were waiting. No please or thank you for dining with us– just ‘leave’. In all my years of dining out was I ever told to leave because there was a line of 3 people at the door. Not returning. Learn how to respect your customers who PAY to enjoy a nice meal.

I had heard that this restaurant served excellence dim sum. One afternoon I tried it and it was very good. This was during a weekday a there were very few people there. Their menu looked good especially the authentic Chinese menu. Last Saturday night I bragged to my friends about a good Chinese restaurant and off we went. The service was horrible. They were busy and all the tables were slow. We had to go up to the manager and complain three times to order. When the soup came three of us got served and one was forgotten. I ordered sweet and sour and my friend ordered wanton. We returned both as it was too salty. I have never been in a restaurant that served soup like that. We ordered two things from dim sum and they were OK.(I later learned that the dim sum is not cooked there.) we ordered beef with book Choy. It was so salty and we just suffered. Real wok is definitely off our list. F on service and D in food. Someone ordered fried chicken and it was OK.

Horrible service. We walked in the door and the workers looked up at us, yet did not greet or seat us. When we were finally seated, we were not provided a menu. We actually went and got a menu ourselves. We patiently waited for someone to take our order, but that didn’t happen. I had to ask someone to take our order. Overall, the food was good, but the service was pretty bad. I may give this place another try just because they may just have been short-handed at the time.

Out of sheer kindness I added a 2nd Star. When Real Wok first opened a couple of years ago it was without a doubt(the) absolute best Dim Sum Restaurant within the 3 County area. 99% Asian clientele with numerous Chinese Newspapers and Publications abound. About 6 months ago, the original(Owner-s) must have sold and moved. New Cooks, Waitstaff, everything changed but the Tables and Chairs. Prices went up and quality plummeted. Now, 99% American clientele. If thats not a «Red Flag», what is?

Finally a good chinese restaurant in palm beach! My favorite! Authentic chinese rice not the yellow rice you get when you go to other places, clean place and friendly staff! Try everthing !

This is a dim sum only review. I have only ordered from the regular menu once, and it was good, but not enough to have an opinion. The dim sum is great. All the classics(sui mai, shrimp dumplings, sticky rice, etc.) are done well, they prepare many of the more exotic(to Western tastes) dim sum, and prepare them well. After going there regularly for over a year, my kids still get excited when we tell them we’re getting dim sum. Enough said.

Was there last night for first time with some old friends who are regulars. The owner and waitress greeted them with hugs, etc. Very warm first impression. We started with West Lake Soup, which was new to me but awesome. They had Lychee Martini with real Lychee nuts, looked good but not my thing. Beef chow fon was awesome, not far off from my Chinatown days. WE had chicken and eggplant in garlic sauce which was excellent. They had roast half duck which they loved but again not my taste. Real Wok is a keeper.

Worst service I stood at the door waiting to be seated for 5 min while the waitress held a conversation with another customer, finally got seated. Ordered a General TSO she said it came with fried rice, I asked for pork fried rice she said it would be $ 1 extra, food came I finished my drink put my cup at the end of the table awaited the waitress to get me a refill got tired of waiting got up to get my own refill then she said I’ll get it. Bill came and was $ 24.95 a general TSO and a large pork fried rice. She said she told me, I don’t know how I could mistake $ 1 extra for its a large for $ 10.95 she gave me attitude was not apologetic at all so why would I tip her is my question, I gave her $ 25 then she asked me for a tip I said for this horrible service and misquoted meal I’ll never return

I want to be transparent and say that Mateo, the manager on the night I ate at Real Wok not only did a terrible job of addressing my issue with the food but also did not seem to understand that my complaint was legitimate and real. First off, my friend is Chinese. She’s from Guanqzhou, China so she knows real authentic Chinese cooking. This place is not authentic Chinese. The place seemed to be clean so that was a plus. We sat, we ordered two dishes, the beef and broccoli and the beef and baby bok choy. After about 25 minutes we finally got our food. I had to ask for it. Since both my friend and I were starving by this time we dug into both dishes. After sampling them both we commented to each other how salty they were. I mean you could taste the salt. So, we called our waitress over and told her about it and she said, «sorry about that» and walked away. She didn’t take it back to the kitchen or offer to fix it. I then asked to see the manager. He came over and I asked him his name, he begrudgingly told me his name was Mateo. I told him that our dishes were way too salty. He looked down at our plates and said«You already ate from them». Wow! Mateo did not want to address our salty dishes and did nothing to rectify the problem with the food. Bad service, bad food = no respect for the customer. Apparently, he has been told to not fix problems with their dishes as this cuts into the profit margin for Real Wok. You can go there if you like but I would not recommend it. On a side note, the dim sum wasn’t bad. But I’ll never go back and I suggest that you avoid this place like the plague.

My favorite place for dimsum. Service is ok… they bring the cart around and have servers constantly offering you these Bite sized, flavor packed morsels of this or that Go on the weekend for the dim sum carts; bring some friends or random people and try a bunch if things; steamed pork buns; lotus leaf wrapped with yummy different types of meats in the middle of rice… it has chicken bones… but still great. Don’t be unadventurous and just try the chicken feet once… the nails have been removed. still good to try 1x.

Tried the Dim Sum(on a Monday) and would not recommend it. I understand that for a restaurant to have a good level of variety, they have to buy in some items pre made and heat them up. I suggest this restaurant could do a better job of sourcing higher quality items. I didn’t try any other items on the menu so those could be much better for all I know. Trying to be fair here, but I can only give two stars. Sorry.

I’m an adult who grew up eating Dim Sum every week growing up with my family in NYC. This is definitely a great place for Dim Sum. It’s not the best I’ve ever had and the menu certainly isn’t one of the most extensive but it certainly satisfied my craving for my childhood favorites. All of the food we had was great, the Tripe in Ginger & Scallions was a little under seasoned and I only noticed this because it’s my favorite item and I eat it often. For someone who’s been having Dim Sum all their lives this was the first time I was slightly confused. They led us to the table with the dim sum menu and a pen to fill out our selections. I assumed at this point that the carts would not be passing through as it makes no sense to do both options. But, to my surprise there was a steam cart packed with nearly everything on their menu. I was really excited about the salt and pepper squid but I also found that severely under seasoned and over cooked. Everything else was wonderful and the BBQ Pork Buns were by far the best I’ve had in years. I’ll go back just for those! I’m also accustomed to having oranges after Dim Sum. I’m not sure if this is not a common practice at all Dim Sum restaurants but it’s always been my experience in NYC. There definitely needed to be something at the end of the meal to cleanse the palate of all the flavors from our brunch. As far as service is concerned everyone was helpful and engaging. The only failure was that none of the servers who visited our table asked if we wanted anything besides the complimentary tea and water served upon arrival. I thought the pricing was very fair was I’m used to going with a large group so spending anywhere between $ 40-$ 90 at Dim Sum is usually on the low end. Because there isn’t many options for Dim Sum in our area I will certainly be visiting Real Wok again.

So glad a good/authentic Chinese place opened up near my house! And the dim sum here is a big plus too! We ordered a lot of traditional Chinese dishes as well as many dim sum dishes and I liked everything that was ordered. Dim sum is available a la carte every day and dim sum by carts on weekends. Dim sum is pricy compared to New York and other city places but it’s the best you can get in this area. Service could use improvements though. Come here for the most authentic Chinese food you can get in Lake Worth /Boynton Beach area!

I have been here a few times and the food is mediocre. Restaurant is large and spacious. Great for large parties. They have very authentic dimsum dishes. If you go on the weekends, they will have the push carts. They wheel food around each table and you ask the server to grab what you want. During the weekdays, they will bring it out to you per your order. A few favorite dimsum items of mine here are custard buns, shrimp dumplings, clams with black bean sauce and the chive dumplings. If you are a fan of dumplings, try the chive. Crispy on the outside and vegs and shrimp on the inside — delicious! Each dimsum dish can range from $ 4 – 6 average. At night, their dimsum menu is still available but their Chinese menu is decent. I like ordering the wonton noodle soup or the shrimp wonton soup.

Today was my second visit to Real Wok. The dimsum they serve is not oily and pretty yummy. I usually order shrimp dumplings, thousand year egg with pork chinese porridge, chive dumplings etc. I love their turnip pudding and the string beans hunan style the best. Out of all the dishes I had I wouldn’t recommend their beef chowfun or eggtarts. Tip: They advertise that they serve carts of dimsum on Saturday and Sundays. But I was there today and it was only one dimsum cart filled with steamed items. You basically order everything else from the menu. I was dissapointed about that.

It’s rare to find a place that has dim sum in my neck of the woods so I was excited to give this place a try. We went on a weekday around 7pm. We were the only Asians in there. Everyone else was Jewish. I don’t know if the waitress didn’t like serving other Asian people but she wasn’t very personable. She came over with the house duck sauce, hot mustard and fried wonton skins but instead of just leaving them on our table, she asks«you want these noodles?» Weird. Then she brings over hot tea which is really nice that you don’t have to ask for it. We ordered a few dim sum dishes to start and ordered some main dishes too. Then we tried to order more dim sum dishes and she tells me that I need to just put all my order in all at once. So we order more dishes but she brings over a dish I didn’t order. It sat for a while then we decided to just eat it. Then she came over 15 minutes later and tells me that the dish wasn’t for us. So I told her to just add it to my bill. She was so rude. We had to ask for chop sticks in the middle of our meal cause she didn’t offer it. Meanwhile she’s refilling water cups at the table next to us but wouldn’t refill our water or even check on us. I think it might be a cultural thing where she’s nicer to the non Asian customers and treats other Asians like crap. Anyways, the food was pretty good but kinda pricy compared to other dim sum restaurants. Most dim sum dishes are about $ 4.50 a plate which is pretty pricy considering you get 3 dumplings per dish. As for the food, the shrimp wrapped in bacon was crispy and delicious, the duck noodle soup had good broth, cha jang noodles actually tasted better as a leftover, fried custard dumpling was great — it’s like a fried mochi with custard inside, the glutinous fried pork dumping was the same as the custard but with pork inside — it wasn’t that good, the fried shrimp balls were delicious, and I always order shrimp rice paste at dim sum places — is a nostalgic thing for me. If the service was good, I would’ve given them 4 stars even though it’s pricey. I heard that on weekends(early) the places is filled with Chinese people for dim sum. Maybe I’ll check it out then.
