Looking for a fish market at 9 o’clock in the morning is hard as hell when you are this close to the water. Most boats stay out longer. But this place satisfied my need to bring salt water fish back to Tallahassee with me. Whoever the fishermen are, they come back every 2 hours and head out in the early darkness of morning. Like most of south Florida, island cooking is heavy. Here you can get fresh fish, meat, and all ethnic products necessary to create your traditional meals. I looked around and it was like I was at a traditional island store. Butcher was cute and prepared my fish exactly how I asked. The one thing missing — a loud radio playing music. Just remember to say«Thank you Papi» when you leave.
