UC Cafe

I love coming here on my lunch break. The owners are incredibly friendly and love to chat while preparing your food. I like the food a lot more than the nearby Chipotle and Potbelly options although it can take a little bit longer, not that I’m complaining. The chicken avocado quesadilla special on Fridays is a must.

Oh UC Café, how I love to hate thee… The convenience you provide me as my office is upstairs with your delicious bagels and salads. But why? Oh, why… must you take a large chunk of my paycheck when I decide to work through lunch and simply need to grab something quick before I decide to yell at the next person who calls me to ask a «quick favor.» Its simply not right. You have me by the short and stubbies! My choices are to either get in my car and drive 5 min to the closest deli or simply hop on the elevator and find joyous food bliss in a matter of moments… its not a choice really, especially when I have my boss breathing down my neck so why do you punish me for being a hard worker???
My second reason for my love of hate is your owner… why must she decide to discuss with me the worlds problems when I am simply wanting a REALLY QUICK snack, not taking a 30 min break? All I want is to get in, get my food as fast as I can, and get out… not spend 20 minutes listening to her tell me about the horrific things she saw occur on the news last night. Is that so much to ask?
Yet as much as I love to hate you, I still come back time and time again for the convenience even though I walk away with a gauge in my pocketbook.
