Very disappointing evening. Went for happy hour and was met with a very disinterested server. May have been a shift change but not transitioned well at all. After an unusually long wait our second server was overly casual and was better suited to a sports bar. Dropped a tomato when serving the salad and laughed it off. When shown a wooden pick found in the salad he explained it was to identify the type of dressing and should have been removed in the kitchen. Better there than in my mouth! The chicken strips were good as usual but the waffle fries had obviously been prepared much earlier as they were very chewy and warm at best.

Thanksgiving with the in-law was spent here. I’ve never had Thanksgiving in a restaurant. When we were invited, we were given the impression that it was a course meal(like a standard 3 – 4 course meal) but it wasn’t. Because of the occasion, the menu was limited but it gave everyone an option other than turkey. I opted for the grilled swordfish which was delicious. I liked that it was cooked medium so that it felt meatier. The tomato sauce with capers was delicious and I thought the portions were perfect because I ended up finishing everything on my plate. The sweetheart had a ribeye steak, cooked rare, with mashies. He did allow me a bite at the very end and the steak was melt-in-your-mouth good. Dessert is presented in a lovely display so you know what you’re getting and it all looked good. We opted not to do dessert although I hear the chocolate chip cookie a la mode was incredible. All in all, it was a pleasant Thanksgiving. The only bummer was no leftovers.

I called and order take out and they were very nice. When I got there I was greeted pleasantly and my food had just got done at the amount of time they said. When I got to my car the lady must of realize she didn’t put silverware in the bag and ran out to catch me to give them too me. Very nice experience. I said no tomatos but they were easy to pick off so no sweat.

When a restaurant can handle(about 20 women were there at the same time) a private group of loud, high energy & intelligent(smart a$$ too)… You deserve more than 5 stars. Good job, Stanford’s. Your MacNCheese was sooooooooooooooo good. Hit the spot, well, many fat spots of mine. HAHAHAHA All good, keep at it. :)

This is a great place to get steak or salmon. They do it right. They have a seasonal menu that changes and adds even more variety. You should also take advantage of their happy hour in the lounge. You can have a business meal to an upscale experience here. The staff is super friendly and helpful.

Glad to see Mr. Gamboa back at the helm as General Manager. Much different ambience and the food and service was exceptional. Loved the Babyback Ribs and the Filet. Mr. Gamboa stopped by our table and introduced himself. The staff was smiling and the server had a Swagger of enthusiasm which had D been missing. By the way I expect to see this restaurant bounce back quicky and become the king of Lake Oswego once again.

Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. We started coming here on a very regular basis a couple months ago specifically for their salmon and ribeye with combination of vegetables as my husband was setting out to fix high blood sugar issues. We now see them a minimum four times a week for dinner. They know us, they know what we need and they take great care of us which in return means that we take great care of them! A lot of the servers been here for quite some time and are delightful!

I was a little worried about trying this place but was pleasantly surprised! Everyone was happy with their meal. The service was good and for a family of five the bill was fair. The seafood was fresh and seasoned nicely. We will definitely be back!

I had dinner here on a business trip. We were greeted promptly and service was great. Prices are also reasonable. I ordered the filet mignon. I have had better at Outback. The steak was a little tough and not that flavorful. Also had the wedge potatoes. Some of the potatoes were undercooked. But the caesar salad, side of sauteed mushrooms, and wine were good.

Arrived at 4:30 with friends. Perfect as the crowds had not descended yet. This was a great deal today and the food was very good. Off the happy hour menu we ordered a chop salad with prawns, excellent, ribs with a giant onion ring, messy but delicious, fish tacos, always a winner. It was Wednesday night and you can also get a bottle of wine half price. The food was great. It is really dark in here however. This place could use a remodel but other than that it was fantastic as always.

The food is consistently excellent(be sure to have crème brûlée for dessert!), atmosphere is cozy, and the wait staff are wonderful. This is a new favorite. Thanks for a delightful lunch, Danielle! And a wonderful dinner, Sheri!

Meh, I hate this place, but a necessity for business lunches and clients. A madhouse parking lot at that time. The absolute most bland lack luster caeser salad with dry chicken. Garlic cheese bread = dry foccacia. The only redeemable thing was the tomato soup which was just that tomato soup. I feel sorry for them that they are competing with the Oswego Grill for the biz clientele. I got sick that night and am hoping the salad was washed and didn’t cause my mild food poisoning. Bad, bad, bad.

I had an excellent meal that was served FAST since we were there during a slow time in between Lunch n Dinner. Half BLT& Salmon Bisque. Both amazing. The half BLT was HUGE w lots of bacon. The bread was charred w nice grill marks making it toasty but still soft. Definitely going back.

I came here for lunch the other day with a friend. I had thought that since I had such amazing buffalo wings at the Clackamas location, that I would get the same consistency here. No, not at all. I know you typically don’t go to Standfords for wings, but I thought I would give it a shot. My friend ordered a Caesar salad with a chicken breast on the side. The chicken breast was flat and dry. It was a pretty crappy experience. I must say that the bartender was awesome though. He did tell the manager about our complaints and she removed the Caesar salad. If I go back, I will get something different.

During our stay in Lake Oswego, we ate at Stanford’s. It was an easy walk from our hotel and we had been running all day and just wanted to stay close. Stanford’s is a very straight ahead place, apparently a local chain with nine or so locations. They serve American food and reminded me of a Chili’s, but a tier above. We did not want a ton of food, so split calamari and order of back ribs. With the ribs, we were able to get asparagus instead of fries with the ribs. The calamari, was just OK. It was under fried so was doughy and gooey. That would be easy to fix. The ribs were also OK for the style. They had a nice glaze and were fresh, moist and tender. These are probably baked and finished on a grill to set the glaze and warm them for serving. This would be a technique that a restaurant, that is not a smokehouse, can manage. We had no issues, the food was nothing remarkable, but I’m sure it’s a good place for a sandwich, a burger or some of their straight-ahead American offerings. When we went there, we had no idea that it is part of a 40+ restaurant chain. It does have that formulaic feel.

Stanford’s is a chain, as has been pointed out in other reviews here. It also has stablemates in the same corporate umbrella(Newport Bay and Manzana’s). Apparently no one has noted yet that its concept is lifted from Houston’s, another limited location chain with spots in California, New York and various other spots around the US. Houston’s is well-known for its service model, which requires strict discipline from the waitstaff and close attention to detail in the kitchen. People who like Houston’s really like it, and keep coming back even though the menu is limited and rarely changes much. The reviews for this place seem to be all over the map. Some say the food is great, and others say it’s lacking. Same for service. I had no problem with either, even though it was obvious to me where it’s coming from. Some dishes they offer here are straight off the Houston’s menu, notably spinach dip(no salsa or sour cream here though), Hawaiian ribeye and grilled ribs. There’s nothing wrong with that(you can’t patent recipes), and there are other chains that have done the same thing with the Houston’s concept. Stanford’s does their versions pretty well as far as I could tell. They also have happy hour menus from 3 – 6 and 9-close every day, and all day Sunday, which are good values. I wish the wine list was better, but the pours are generous and pretty reasonably priced. Likewise the beer selection could be better. In the PNW beer has become as discriminating as wine, so the place should step up its game. No complaints about service here, which was just fine if not quite top quality. It’s convenient walking distance from several hotels on Kruse. I recommend you try it at happy hour first, at very little risk, then decide if it’s worthwhile for lunch or dinner.

Hh till 6, and all day Sunday. Server at the bar was friendly, prompt, and kept an eye on time for my food and drinks. I ordered the grilled portabello mushroom which is served with some greens, and some crisped strips of onion, which I thought help a normally-plain salad have some pop and texture. The mushroom was flavorful and filling. I could have done for less of the aoli drizzed over the top, as I feel it masked the flavor of the mushroom and also I don’t like mayo-stuff. It was just unwarranted for an otherwise tasty dish at 4.95. Stanfords knows what they are and what they are not. They do it well and consistently. I respect this and will certainly return.
