Yes, I called for last minute boarding on NY Eve and unlike other vendors, these folk were really friendly, helpful, despite being full. They put me on a wait list, were kind, smart enough to know that your next call could become your best customer.

Deborah Ward killed my beloved pet chicken a couple of months ago and now a 2^nd chicken we brought to her is on her way out. And she was brought in for just a sprained hip. Whatever Dr Ward gave her caused her system to completely shut down. She’s not eating, barely drinking and laying on her side with her eyes closed all the time. I don’t know how this woman is still in business.
The first chicken we brought in was very ill. I don’t blame the doctor for that. But she was so insensitive to her plight. She used her to educate another vet. I told her that my little girl was on death’s door, now is not the time to exploit her for educational purposes.
Anyway, the exam went on and she took her out of the room to x-​ray her. While she was out I noticed the front desk girl was out back letting some kenneled dogs out to do their business one at a time. And one at a time the dogs would look to her for some attention, maybe a little affection or gasp, PLAY! Nope. She was having none of it. She was rough with the dogs via their chains. She hurried them up to poop and got them back in their kennels in less that 3 minutes each. She clearly doesn’t like dogs. I should have recorded it because I’m confident that no one would board their dogs here if they saw what I saw. I felt so sorry for these animals.
After awhile I heard a big dog barking and running around and I was concerned for my chicken back there. I felt a surge of fear, which I knew was not mine because I’m not at all afraid of dogs. Sure enough they had my weak and vulnerable sweet hen on a table less than 2 feet from where they were trying to mush a huge dog into a small crate. (Crating is animal abuse, pure and simple. I don’t care what anyone says.) Sure enough my girl died from fright. It just broke my heart. I had a tense conversation wherein I told the «vet», Dr Ward, that it was a sensitivity issue. That sensitivity can’t be taught. You’re either sensitive to the plight of animals or you’re not. (If anyone knows any vegan vets, let me know.) Who would put a vulnerable bird on a cold metal table under bright lights, which let’s face it is scary enough, right next to a bunch of giant barking dogs?! Who DOES that?! Stupid doesn’t even begin to explain it.
I waited to write a review so I wouldn’t just curse her out on this forum. Then, as luck would have it, I ran across a hen that desperately needed rescuing. I saved her life but couldn’t get to her sister in time to save hers. Very sad. Anyway, my sweet rescued hen is young and likes to leap off high tables so it was no surprise when she started limping. We took her back to this vet for x-​rays only. (I had no other option at the time.) Sure enough the vet gave her some meds that have pretty much shut down her entire system. She hasn’t eaten in days. All she does is lay on her side with her eyes closed. Gurgling noises come from her when she drinks water. She’s miserable. And I’m furious. She only had a sprained hip when I brought her in. She had been eating and drinking normally and was a happy little girl, with a limp. Now she’s a miserable little girl who looks like she’s about to pass any minute.
I’m telling you, if you value your pets DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE. BOTH times I brought in a live chicken, I ended up with a dead one. And this last girl just had a sprained hip! She should’ve recovered in a couple of weeks. Now I’ll be lucky if she makes it through the day.
Dr. Ward, do not go anywhere near animals. Please. They don’t deserve it.

Clean and nice facilities, however we were unimpressed with the level of care our puppy received. Felt the doctor and staff were detached and impersonal (personally i like to see more interaction with my pet, because it comforts them). I felt this way after the first visit but went back again for the puppies shots. A week or so later she developed a breathing issue and we took her in– they charged us $ 80 for an emergency visit, even though they sent us home with no advice, and no suggestions as to why this would suddenly occur. Just told us to monitor it. Well it happened again that night so we had to take her to an emergency vet in Tualatin. (That night I emailed a video to Oswego Veterinary hospital). While at the emergency vet hospital they had a very simple solution for what might be occurring, and we gave her a benedryl– and it hasn’t happened again– all we had to do was switch food! Well the next day I received a call fro Oswego vet– and the vet, after reviewing my video, recommended that the puppy get surgery to fix a soft palate issue that was common with the breed. I asked if it was an anatomical issue why it would start suddenly, and was told that the environment might have irritated it. The vet at oswego even went so far as to contact a surgeon to learn more. It is quite frightening that that was their first reaction, surgery, when the problem was much more simple. I believe they really did try to help my dog, but they seemed to be very unfamiliar with the breed itself (pugs– which have special needs as far as breathing– lookout bulldog owners, etc). Good intentions, however I need more than that from the people I trust my animals with.

My cat has been sick the past week with a urinary tract disease, so we’ve brought him in here 3 times over the past week. This is the kind of office where you walk in and feel at ease that your pet will be getting the best of care, they take time to greet our cat and never rush anything. They are a group of truly caring individuals who understand that pets are like children. I had to leave him in the office for a few hours (which made me cry to have to leave him!) but I felt completely comfortable that he was in the best of hands, and he came back to me relaxed and his typical good-​natured self. Not only that, but our doctor, Dr. Duggan, took so much time with us and answered all of our questions (and we had a LOT.) The atmosphere is relaxed and comforting, which is just what you need when your beloved pet is sick. I’m so glad we found them and feel so much better dealing with a stressful disease with such knowledgable, loving people.

I am writing this review for about 3 ppl– including myself. I am usually pretty apprehensive about vets; i’ve been to my fair share of bad ones. Since this is the only vet we have been to in OR, we don’t know how the pricing compares to the other offices in pdx. But my classmate/​neighbor takes her dog here, and she loves it. And we figured we would give this one a try since Riley needed to be established in the state of OR. My bf took him for a std checkup, and when he got bitten by a spider. He really liked the office. I then took him for his 1^st grooming appt ever, and got to see the office. It is quaint. Clean. Fully staffed. and Walking Distance from our place.
Upon entering, the staff was friendly and competent. Riley’s appt was on time, and I was in and out within 15 min. I was able to observe how the staff interacted with other dogs and they seem to truly care about animals (always bonus pts with me). The thing that impressed me the most, was the involvement with other orgs such as Fences for Fido and The Paw Team. Up until now, I had been getting emails about how the office was helping homeless pets find a home, etc. But you can even drop off donation items for less fortunate animals right at the office, and they will distribute them to the orgs/​families in need. Not all vet offices do that. It is because I believe the staff here truly cares about the welfare of ALL animals, I will continue taking Riley here and supporting them.

I’m really picky about vets — always had that discerning eye. I was pleasantly surprised that their website was comprehensive, so I was able to study up before taking my precious cargo to them. Many of their vets graduated from UC Davis (my alma mater!) and the vet techs have been there for several years (not always something you find)… so I was all in!
My little pumpkin has loved visiting ever since (been almost two years now). She doesn’t mind getting poked or prodded, as she feels comfortable and welcomed. The staff know my pup by name and always treat her like their own. We have also used their boarding services several times, and our baby always comes back happy and clean. We appreciate how seriously they take their business.
I would highly recommend these vets to any owner — you won’t be disappointed.
