Had my breaks repaired here! They are very friendly and upfront. Will be taking my car back for future repairs!

My husband took our Toyota in to have the electrical system checked out. After running a few tests, Jake discovered my «operator» error and did not charge us anything. Very honest and trustworthy. I would highly recommend this shop.

I am used to taking my car to the Toyota Dealer for factory recommended service, but heard about JC from a relative, and thought it would be worth a try.
I was very happy with my experience. They did all the factory recommended service and were very professional. The car was ready in a timely manner, and the cost was reasonable.
I would recommend JC unconditionally.

We have an older Montero and love the car, but this last year (february) it didn’t pass DEQ. Took it to JC and they confirmed the cause of the oil leak we feared. 2 other shops had told us oil was leaking because it was old so we babied it, but the crew at JC found it, fixed it and we still got out with our arms and legs! Very happy with service and they have all our repair needs from this point forward.

I wanted so much to like them. Their Unilocal reviews are the reason we brought our car in here. After our first experience, I recommended you freely to everyone, now I am calling and telling those that I recommended to stay away.
On one hand, we had a car that had been through another auto shop and none of the issues got resolved. You helped us figure out the complex fix for that car (+1 star). I am grateful for that, so thank you. However I will admit that every time I saw you on the caller ID, I dreaded talking to you as every time it was to tell me that something was wrong that you hadn’t anticipated. And it was always made to sound dire. I supposed that’s the nature of owning an aging, fussy European car — I understand.
However, what you did to my parent’s car was really shoddy. To diagnose and replace something, citing with 90% certainty that was the fix, only to have us out several hundred dollars and no fix is concerning. To hear that you insisted on only talking about the issue with my father (it’s not even his car), it made us feel incompetent — as if you thought that we were incapable of grasping the issue and frankly, a bit sexist. Doubt this was the goal, but that’s how it came out.
Most of all, we brought the car in multiple times. The last time, there was some run around about the appointment time. But we did get confirmation that we’d be okay to bring it in and FINALLY get it fixed for good. Then you call and say you can’t work on it. We had an appointment set, and it was cancelled on us only in the middle of the day, after we had made quite an effort to get it in early.
JC also was told that the car’s temperature gauge was out. It was always reading the car as cold. They thought this meant the outside temperature gauge, which worked fine. So it had to go BACK in to have that fixed. It never got done.
Just based on reviews, we are most definitely the odd ones out here. I don’t know what happened to us that we got what we felt was such poor service. Nor is it reasonable that we picked the second car up twice with no repairs made (third or fourth trip, all they did was tell us to come pick it up). I am disappointed in JC Car Care and will be taking all of our vehicles and recommendations elsewhere going forward.

We have always been the «take it to the dealer» kind of people. Then our neighbor told us about JC Care LLC in Lake Oswego. We have a 2005 Pontiac Vibe that we «inherited» from our son. He’s a 20 something and likely did not get routine maintenance as we like to do. And based on what the dealer told us MUST be done we decide to sell. But wait: we went to JC for a 2^nd opinion. They had a look and advised the things which should be done and those that could wait and the timing for which it was wise to schedule the remaining things – at least those things that really needed to be done. Results? An immediate cost FAR less than our trusted dealer. A more mid-​term outlay that is about half should we decide to sell. And now, we’re not sure we’ll even sell. It’s a great little car and not to much expense expected in the near future.
So not only did we get a fair deal and great service, we now have a new favorite repair shop that, with their honest feedback, helps us better decide whether we should even keep our car. That kind of partnership is powerful if you really don’t even know what to do with an aging car.
One thing you should know is that the secret about JC is out. If you want to schedule, do it a week or so in advance. They have slots for emergencies, but we were not one and didn’t pretend to be. If it had been, they could have taken us earlier. But just knowing they are there for service ASAP or a few days down the road is a great feeling. Even better knowing that what they said they would do at the price they would do it was all true. Great little company.

Good old-​fashioned service!
Jacob and Chris exemplify good old-​fashioned service. They go above and beyond to help keep their customer’s cars serviced in top condition. My 2002 Toyota Camry had been having random stalling issues and JC Car Care went the extra mile to figure out what was wrong with my car, since the problem wasn’t showing up on the diagnostics. Jacob researched my problem online and they took my car in to test it out on road tests to try to figure out the problem, many times for no charge or a minimal charge. Chris was finally able to diagnose the problem, ordered the part, and my car is running like it’s brand new.
Now, I moved to WA for a new job and I took my car in to get an oil change at a local shop, they mentioned how wonderfully my car was serviced: high quality clamps were used, timing belt replacement sticker to indicate to another mechanic that the timing belt was replaced and when it was done (by the way, they replaced my timing belt for $ 500 less than my previous mechanic had quoted me!). He said that my mechanic had obviously been a good one, and I agree. Going to miss you guys!

I went today for the first time and will now be a customer for life!
I am, admittedly not a huge car guy. A little while ago my check engine light came on so I borrowed a diagnostic reader to see what it was. Because it was an emissions issue I just reset it myself and kept driving it to see if it would come back on. It didn’t.
I wanted to be sure so I took it in. I talked to Jake and showed him the code. He talked me through the reasons the code could have been thrown and spent 10 minutes answering my questions. He said that because it hadn’t come back on, I had nothing to worry about and was free to go.
He could have easily kept my car, looked and it and charged me a fee for the same answer and I’d have no way of knowing. I also asked him about an issue we’re having with my wife’s car and he gave me a great suggestion on how to fix it.
I was very impressed with the integrity and sincerity that we were shown. We talked for a good 10 – 15 minutes and he was happy to answer our questions. Unless I move, I’m never going to go anywhere else when I need car help because of this great experience.

As the 5 star rating says, these guys really are as good as it gets.
I previously went to Tyler’s Automotive in Tigard and Tylers hands down was a nightmare. I went to JC CAR CARE to get fixed what Tylers has broken, and JC was the best. Jacob and Chris are professional, courteous, honest, and their prices are very reasonable.
Jacob and Chris serviced my catalytic converter on my Hyndaui Santa Fe. They also fixed the ignition coils, valve gaskets and seals. They test drove the car multiple times and only when they felt it confident that their repairs fixed all the problems did they give it back to me. They walked me through every single point of what they did, and explained to me in detail the reasons behind their repairs. I felt like I was talking with friends; I definitely trust these guys now.
As long as I’m in the Portland area, I’ll only come to these guys now.

The guys at JC Car Care were stand up guys! I work just up the road from them and was recommended to use them by my coworkers. I nearly broke down getting to work one morning and so I sputtered into his parking lot. he gave me a quote, kept it over one night and called me the next morning to tell me to come pick it up! Runs like a champ now. Great customer service, I felt taken care of and not taken advantage of which is how a lot of places are.

Found JC Car Care on Unilocal.I took my car in for an oil leak that was made worse by another shop. They found the problem and fixed it in a third of the time it took the other shop to make it worse. They took pictures and explained what the other shop had done. Was able to recoup my money with this information. I am forever grateful to JC Car Care. They know what they are doing and more than that they care. Customer service is top of the line. They keep you informed and charge appropriately. I look for honesty and I have found it.

As a single mom to four kids I need an honest, reliable and reasonably priced mechanic. Jacob and Chris at JC Car Care fit the bill. I’ve taken my 1997 Ford Expedition (with 250,000 miles!) to this friendly, clean shop several times and I am very happy with their quick and thorough service.

Fabulous service. Jacob was extremely helpful and took extra time to answer all of my questions. Service was quick. Customer care is clearly a top priority! I will definitely return and recommend them to my friends and family.

Understands the value of service with an excellent staff and timely response. I just happened to drop by this place on a lonnnnng detour to work… I will purposefully drive an extra 20minutes to come back rather than using a large chain auto store close to home.

Just got my Honda accord serviced an it was a very pleasant experience. The car runs super smooth again!

Being new to Oregon I turned to Unilocal when my service engine light came on… It’s no wonder JC Car Care has five stars! They have an impeccable team that seem to really care about their customers. Jacob walked me through everything and they had my car (Ford Expedition) ready in no time. I really can’t say enough nice things… If you’re looking for an amazing place to take your car, you’ve found it!

I called around to get different prices on a quote I got from someone else. JC car care offered to do a free inspection, to make sure that was really the issue. Thank goodness we did, because that wasn’t the issue! Saved us $ 800! We just moved to the area, and I’m so thankful to find our new automotive repair place!

Definitely a gem of a car shop. Every time my family brings a vehicle hear, we fill like they always try to go above and beyond.
Brought in my car for a oil change and they gave me a free inspection. Changed out some things for me and it was still way way way less than the dealership.
Best is the sense of integrity the owners have. I asked about an older car we brought in and they were very honest about what should be changed and what didn’t have to.
Definitely a great shop, and one that I would be using for the rest of my cars life.
