Mikado is my absolute favorite sushi restaurant; not only for the price but the quality makes me not want to go to any other sushi restaurant. I eat the all-you-can-eat menu and I get my money worth. They don’t flinch when I order my 50+ salmon pieces and then some. Quality has always been superb and service is fast and efficient. Like most Asian service, they are to the point but the food is way more worth it than wanting a superficial conversation with your server.

One of my all time favorite sushi restaurants! Been going to Mikado’s for years and my favorite sushi rolls are the Volcano, Mexican, and Magic roll. I would definitely recommend getting the all AYCE menu if you are like me and like trying different things. Some of my favorite items on there are shumai(shrimp dumplings), avocado salad, veggie teriyaki, sashimi, tempura, and miso soup and of course the sushi rolls. Only negative about this place is that due to it’s popularity, it can be extremely busy at times usually evening or weekends around 7−9pm and the wait time for food is a little long. However, it is worth the wait!

This place is by far the best Japanese food I have ever eaten. I got the bento box 1 and it changed my life forever. The best thing I’ve ever had. The sweet potato and shrimp tempura were the best part and it even came with a California roll. I paid $ 20 but I would have paid $ 20,000. I go back at least once a week now. It was much better than anything I had back in Zimbabwe.

Okay food. Not likely to return or recommend. The white sauce tasted like ranch dressing.

Last night was our second time at Mikado. The first time was in September and we had such a lovely experience then. The food and service were wonderful on that occasion, which was good because it was a special occasion for my husband and me. Last night was also a special occasion but it was sadly lacking. Our food was very good. The all you can eat is an excellent deal. But when we walked in, we weren’t greeted well by the man and another server that was there. Plus, our server was very unfriendly and we barely saw her. She never asked if we needed drink refills and disappeared for 20 minutes at one point while we were waiting for our food. It was busy at that time in the restaurant, surprising for a Tuesday night, and even though that’s not her fault, she should have stopped by to check on us more than she did. She offered a weak«your food will be right out» after 20 minutes of us sitting there waiting hungrily. She seemed annoyed any time we ordered our food and made us feel like we were wasting our time eating here. It’s a shame too. My husband and I are torn on whether to give it another chance. If we do, we will be sure to protest if they try to seat us in the section where this server was. We didn’t even know her name until we looked on the receipt. It’s Xiao. Which is Chinese by the way. I know this because my husband is Chinese. If you want to keep your customers, please replace your uncaring staff with more friendly and professional people. They set the tone for your restaurant and the tone we got last night was dismal.

Came in for the all you can eat. The food was decent, but as other reviewers have said, service took foooorevvvvveeeerrrrr. The waitress was nice, but was often nowhere to be found. Sushi was good, especially the rolls that came with the deal. The teriyaki, however, was a total disappointment. It was basically a bowl full of onions… Very small portions of both chicken and shrimp. You’re probably better off going for lunch or happy hour instead.

I came here based on a recommendation on an earlier experience. I ordered off the happy hour menu and my sister ordered the AYCE for $ 23. The sushi was worth it, but I was thoroughly disappointed in the service. Our waitress took forever with our food, and when we ordered Sake, the vial had a mushed up straw wrapper on it from a previous customer. Apparently, it appears they do not do a good job to wash their dishes. When we complained, she basically blamed it on the wash staff and said«that happens sometimes.» Umm, what? That should never happen. Ever. We got grossed out and our appetites died immediately. We asked to speak to a manager and when the manager came, he was nice enough to comp some of our bill, but I still felt they didn’t take responsibility. Oh well. With the poor service and the cleanliness, I can’t recommend this place. Plenty of other options(like Amura). I’d recommend those places first.

We went tonight because my parents came with a friend and was just raving about it. SODISAPPOINTED! Mind you the food was good but the service was unbelievably slow and not good at all. We were seated at our table within 10 minutes of arrival but it took our waitress almost 30 minutes just to come over and take our drinks. Then almost another 15 – 20 minutes to get our drinks and finally order our food. We all went for the all you can eat buffet so we ordered a mix of kitchen and sushi bar items. The chicken fried rice came with maybe 3 – 4 tiny pieces of chicken, sushi rolls were falling apart from poor rolling and all the hot menu items took almost an hour to be served! Our waitress didn’t even bother to come over to explain or apologize, we barely saw her. We finally got a hold of another waitress and she said she would double check. Then our server finally came and explained(pretty much blamed) that the kitchen staff were being slow. Then a few minutes later the rest of our food finally came(hour and a half later) and said the manager«talked to the kitchen staff» since we weren’t the only ones complaining. If it weren’t for the food being good we would’ve walked right out. The first time my parents went the service was excellent and that’s why they recommended it but by the end of the night, I didn’t even want to eat there because of lack of service.

Ahhh I was so excited about this place but was slightly disappointed. I got the all you can eat and the sushi was not fresh. I had to send back all of the sashimi and nigiri. But the kitchen food is pretty good. I would probably go back and just get the kitchen food and maybe some of the rolls. But I would not advise eating the sashimi.

When I came to Mikado’s, it was the first time I had been to a Japanese restaurant and didn’t know the menu, as well as what some of the menu items meant. Well, I was with a group of friends and decided that I just wanted noodles with vegetables. I asked the waitress if that was an option and she asked me «udon or sopa?» Well, I had no idea what this meant and made it clear that I was not following what she was asking me. She then seemed to get angry and just point at the words udon and sopa in the menu, which did not have a description, and did not give any description to what these were. I took a guess at to what I was getting and said«udon» and then she walked away angrily at my lack of knowledge on this food. I would have shrugged it off after having a laugh about it with my friends, however, she was rude for the rest of the visit after this. The Udon with vegetables was what you would expect. Nothing great.

I was always a fan of Mikado and the food is very good; however, tonight I was thoroughly unimpressed with the management at the Lake Mary location. At 9:45pm, on a Friday, I called and was told that the restaurant closed at 10:30. I live in Altamonte Springs and I drove there and made it by 10pm. When I arrived I was told by the manager that they were no longer taking tables and that I would only be able to take food to go. Had I known this I would have NEVER driven to the restaurant! I will NEVER return to this restaurant– they have lost a very loyal customer.

I really like this place because of buffet sushi. The food is good but it is not very fresh. The atmosphere is good and the restroom is just ok. One thing that they should develop is the service sometime the servers is not good.

So sad that I have to give them a bad review, because this was our favorite place for years. The past few times we have gone the service has been very poor. It was almost like they didn’t want to wait on us at all. They have lost us, we won’t be back.

This place is lovely. So convenient and their sushi is awesome! Our family is gluten free and Mikado always provides us with options. They’re willing to alter any sushi roll to make it happen! They even have GF soy sauce. I also love how they send out coupons in the magazines. Try them!

The all you can eat is wonderful! You order items off a menu so they come fresh. The snapper appetizer is a must! One of the only AYCE sushi places that allows you to order sashimi by the slice. Every time I’m in town I look forward to my visit here. Can’t wait to get back here.

I’ve been here twice and we always order from the All You Can Eat Menu. What a deal!!! So many choices from salads, soups, usual appetizers, plenty of sushi options, teriyaki, tempura & fried rice. The portion size is just right in case you want to try everything! But make sure you leave room for the red bean ice cream… also included!!! The food was delicious & service was great! Not from here, but a must when I visit!

I am a huge sushi lover! I come here at least twice a month. I get a salmon roll and shrimp tempura roll. both are always delicious. The servers are friendly and the food comes out fast. There is also rarely a wait which is so nice. I would suggest giving it a try!

I’m eating lunch as we speak. Presentation is fantastic & the sushi is very reasonably priced for lunch specials. We moved to the Longwood/Lake Mary area a year ago & I’m finding hidden gems. This is definitely more personable & intimate than Amura’s. I will definitely be coming back. The Salmon 3 Ways made my hearts flutter. It was delicious!!!

Good for what it is. Had dinner here last Saturday night. They have a pretty good happy hour until 7:00 everyday. We ordered a few appetizers and rolls from the happy hour menu and also entrees from the dinner menu. All in all everything was good. They also have an AYCE menu for around $ 24. You can order anything from this menu as many times as you like as long as you finish what you order. There were cold and hot apps, tempura, rice dishes, noodle dishes, sushi/sashimi ect. I will have to come back and try this sometime. Looks promising though. My one small complaint, the rice they use for sushi is not proper type, the grain was a bit longer than what i’m used to(jasmine rice maybe). I’ve seen this going on at a few other sushi places around town. Don’t get me wrong, it was still good, but I could tell it was not proper. I would recommend Mikado, especially happy hour.

Initiate sushi destruction in 3…2…1! Umm, I just want to say I LOVE coming here for their AYCE sushi menu! For the low low price of $ 23.95, you get: made to order salad, assorted soups, kitchen appetizers, sushi, and ice cream. Yes, lots of awesome food for such a reasonable price. There’s also an added bonus of discounted sake and beer on the ayce menu. My absolutely favorite roll to get is the tiger roll, rawr! It’s assorted raw fish and avocado that’s all wrapped up in soy paper. Of course if you don’t want to get rolls then just fill up on selected nigiri and sashimi. Normally, I never make it to dessert, but last time I went I got to try a spoonful of my neighbors red bean ice cream. It was absolutely delicious with a surprising floral aftertaste! Oh, just a tip. Order what you want all at once. Service isn’t consistent so you may or may not have to flag down your server for follow ups.
