Great date atmosphere. Wine flights were reasonably priced. Nice music. Romantic. Suburb service. A nice gem

Love this wonderful little slice of Heaven. The food was excellent, and the waitress was so precious. The live music was a huge bonus.

This is a little wine oasis. You would miss it if your not paying attention. But inside is some really inspired dishes and a crap load of good wine.

My last visit was to celebrate my birthday with coworkers, but I always enjoy the Grape Taste. The décor is lovely and intimate. The lunch menu is good and I never have a problem making a choice. Dinner is even better! They have a wonderful tapas selection and a great wine bar. The only thing keeping them from a 5 star review in my opinion is the inconsistency of the service. I have had really good service and really bad service. If the could get this part right, it would make for an even better overall experience.

No complaints… Must return for more ambiance, food and vino! Wish they had an app to track my wine preferences. Flights are fun but I’d love to have a journal of my explorations into wine!!!

Dishes were very good. Portion were about right, but we still took some home. I went with the chicken fried steak sandwich and while it was not what I expected, it was the best chicken fried steak sandwich I ever had.

Great date night spot. We enjoyed the music with our dinner. They have wine… an extensive wine list. Try the wine flight! Dinner wise, try the Flounder a la queso. They also have tapas and cheese platters.

Love the atmosphere and the food! I had a new menu item, the salad trio. I’m skipping my favorite dessert the Tres Leches, and my second favorite the Crème Brûlée! I will be back for dessert another day :)

This is the place to eat if you enjoy getting to know the owner who is present, hard working and tries to please. The food is excellent. The atmosphere is nice and friendly. A suggestion for improvement would be on is the amount of wine per glass poured verses price. Waiters MEASURE the amount according to to some imaginary line at the bottom third of the glass. Also, a few more waiters would speed things along. Otherwise, it’s one of my favorite higher priced restaurants in LJ.

Went here on a date and was very surprised. Quiet and cozy. Had a live saxophone player. Staff was very polite and helpful. Food was awesome. We had a few of the tapas, it is small portion plates. The stuffed crab was very fresh and flavorful! I had a wine flight, it is a sample of 3 different wines. They have a lot of variety. Will definitely be going back!

I ate here with a friend today for lunch. This is upscale for Lake Jackson but don’t be afraid to come in casual attire. Atmosphere was nice and restaurant was clean staff was attentive. the bartender greeted us at the door and sat is right away. I had the lake jackson salad with Ceasar dressing. The salad was good but the grilled chicken was over cooked and buddy had the titto salad with steak. or looked good(didn’t ask how he liked it). The prices are reasonable and quantity was good.

A wonderful hidden treasure in Freeport Texas. Staying here on business I stumbled across this little gem. The owners’ daughter Holly is bubbly, well-versed on wines and has a fabulous menu to choose from. Fantastic happy hour specials; everything from Spanish tapas to Angus burgers. Coming from Austin this restaurant is the caliber of a Food Network find. Check it out when in town

Brilliant restaurant, easily the best food/service you can get in brazoria county. Went there for dinner on a Saturday night, atmosphere was fresh, new and contemporary, and they had live music which was definitely a plus. The service was perfect, waitress was kind and very attentive. now onto the food, I had the blackened salmon special with crawfish Étouffée, fried oysters and rice, which was beautifully seasoned and full of flavor, the salmon was cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth, as for the dessert I had the Crème brûlée, which was also perfect, very velvety and perfectly balanced. I don’t know if the chef is a magician or what, but he obviously knows his stuff… definitely going to come back again!

Outstanding, the food taste so delicious and they know what wine goes with your order. I couldn’t be happier with my experience at @ the grape taste! Check these guys out for lunch, my favorite!

This place is all warm and cozy and good and pricey. I totally dig the tapas concept because it allows you to taste lots of different items. This was my first time having polenta, and I was really impressed. It was smooth and creamy and full of flavor. I was also very approving of their«carnitas» which are actually just taqueria style tacos like you would find in Mexico but with better meat and way more expensive. I think it was $ 8 for two small tacos. The real star was their signature salad. Pecans, figs, sun dried tomatoes, strawberries, and grilled chicken over field greens. It tasted just as good as it sounds. For drinks, they have an extensive wine list(if that’s your thing), an extremely limited beer selection, and a few interesting cocktails like a tres leches martini that was just sweet enough to be considered dessert. I’m looking forward to coming back for another salad during lunch hours. One last thing… they don’t have dessert menus. They prefer to have the waiters memorize the desserts. My wife ordered the chocolate chip bread pudding since she is a fan of both of those things. She is not a fan of coconut, however. And how would anyone know to expect coconut in a chocolate chip bread pudding? Just print a dessert menu!

I came to the Grape Taste for lunch with a couple of my co-workers. And I would say the this restaurant is a good rival to The Local. I had the Fried Green Tomato Club Roasted Chicken Sandwich with Salad and a noodle soup. The lunch specials here are great and quite low cost. Also, our server was able to get our food out in a very reasonable time considering that it was time for a lunch rush. The noodles came in a tomato based broth. It tasted awesome. But, I thought the pasta was a little overcooked because the noodles were a bit too swollen and broke apart too easily. At first, I wasn’t sure if I would like the sandwich because tomatoes are a hit and miss for me. But, I was really surprised how much I enjoyed it. The tomatoes were cooked extremely well and it had very nice breading. The sandwich is one of my favorites that I’ve had in the Lake Jackson area. I highly recommend it. Hope you enjoy your next meal at the Grape Taste. It is definitely a restaurant worth checking out!

Unfortunately awful! The ambiance is totally spot on. Looks the part but once service starts your quickly awoken from the dream and the nightmare begins. Ok… so maybe the food will save the night… ugggghhhh. If you offer pasta, how about offer some fresh graded parm to go on top? Sorry we have none. BUT let’s get back to basics since we are spending this much money. Step one, if my water glass runs dry, you look at it, how about refilling it in the next 15 min. I looked at the two bartenders who are looking at me look at them and I hold my glass up with a friendly smile and… nothing, he tells the overloaded wait staff who was already in the weeds do to under staffing, still another 10 min. Hey Mr Hipster bartender, ever thought about helping your wait staff out and come from behind the bar and fill my glass instead of standing there chatting and laughing with your coworker doing nothing. 40 plus minutes later, full restaurant and only 2 helpless wait staff, no water glasses filled in the whole restaurant, the food arrives yet another unfortunate let down. I ate 1⁄3 of my plate and as hungry as I was my thoughts drifted away to were I was gonna stop on the way home for food. BUT my over priced wine from Italy was great… hard to mess up «open bottle put in glass». Save your money, save your time, save your dining experience and go somewhere your appreciated, respected or treated right. In closing, the sad part of this… is upon leaving I found out the owner and her husband were sitting at one of the tables and they didn’t even notice«the ship was sinking for most guest in the restaurant and did nothing to help! At least throw me a life jacket. Get up and help your swamped wait staff fill glasses, check food quality coming from the kitchen or something! On a positive note, nicely decorated uh… room???
