Top of the World Property

We visited here as a first timer into lake George during middle of October. I didn’t want to choose a motel and wanted something a bit different. The view was phenomenal and I would have to say the best in the area. The B&B had so much potential but I was happy with our accommodations and stay. The room was cozy and large enough for the pack and play. The tv is much to be desired. I think it may have been 13inches. The couch in the sitting area had a tear in the arm rest but other than that, the room was fine. The kitchen was a bit dirty and a crock pot sat in the sink the whole weekend with some sort of tomato based sauce in it. Not sure who is in charge of cleaning up the kitchen but that could also be improved just from a perception standpoint. We had breakfast in the common area and the staff was very attentive. Coffee was served on the landing on the second floor every morning. The place should be a 3.5 stars not a 3. I would hope to see this place do exceptionally well since it has huge potential. Would love to come back with my family since they would enjoy the B&B and forgot to mention, the price was totally reasonable. $ 170/​night for the largest room in the building.

Top of the World Bed & Breakfast has really spoiled me as a first b&b experience.
Situated at the top of a large hill on the south east side of Lake George, the Inn is connected to it’s more famous farmhouse restaurant. It is country/​woodsy farmhouse all the way through, and my room was absolutely adorable with kitschy pink vintage mini sofa and matching arm chair, as well as a gold framed bed and antique wooden armoire and side tables.
The building was equipped with both wireless internet and digital television for the guests. A bar downstairs served a full drinking menu as well as the restaurants wine list and a variety of craft ($ 4!!!) beers.
The breakfasts were lovely, served with fresh, local ingredients. Definitely some of the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had.
A short drive to several beautiful hiking trails on the east shore of the lake as well as into Lake George Village. The staff was very considerate and helpful.
