This review is for the sister business next door– the one with the scooter rentals. Alex was great and patient, helping me navigate the scooter. Had so much fun going up prospect mountain on one of those!

Awesome little bait shop. It’s got what you need and a little bit more. Awesome prices for bait and supplies. There’s also bike rentals, which is an odd combo, yet works. The 2 reviews I’ve read on this place seem to be a bit older. The bikes in the shop now are all new, and they are all in awesome condition. And they have attachments like carts for little kids, and always offer a helmet to those who want one. I’ve come here numerous times and always had great service. It’s got an old school get in and get what you need atmosphere, which I prefer as a shopper. You can get fishing licenses and boat permits here too, which is awesome for those ready to get out on the lake. I give it 5 stars because I’ve never had a bad experience here, even when the workers are overwhelmed and stressed.

Only game in town if you want to rent a bike. Bikes are ok but of the cheapest quality, made for the trails you will ride around on. $ 20 for 3 hours, $ 200 deposit, which is a little crazy but removed quickly afterwards… The place is a bait and tackle store, not a bike shop.

A friend and I decided to rent bikes and ride around the trail near Lake George, NY. Apparently, according to this bike shop, they are the only game in town. I guess so few people want to ride a bike that they need to rent a bike from a store that also sells fishing tackle and employs people who neither want to help nor can think on their own. I had a completely different experience than the previous reviewer. After initially being turned away because they had no bikes left(admittedly, we got our day started late), within 3 minutes others had returned and we pressed them to rent the bikes. I’ll say this about the quality of the bikes we rented — had they been manufactured and assembled by drunk migrant Chinese workers who hated life, I would have felt more comfortable riding them. Roadmasters straight off the Kmart shelf with meaty tires and big shocks were the tool of choice to tackle the completely paved road of the only«trail». Why would a store rent out beefy(and crappy) mountain bikes to ride on a road/trail so flat it makes kate moss look voluptuous. Terrible service, incompetent employees, and incapable bikes land this establishment two paltry stars.
