This place was a great find. Cancelled my wine club memberships in Temecula. All their wines are great. Great place to relax and enjoy some wine.

First let me preface that we are avid wine tasters with a large cellar of wines. We have been to Napa, Sonoma, Healdsburg, Paso Robles, San Miguel, Santa Maria, Santa Ynez, Orcutt, Santa Barbara, Ojai, Lompoc Wine Ghetto, Ventura Wine Trail, Los Olivos, Washington, and Oregon several times and last and least Temecula. FIRSTIMPRESSIONS: We were greeted at the counter by owner and co-wine maker Josh. Being early on a Friday we were the first and only ones there in our group of 4. We’ve tasted in several urban settings and felt Frisby has a relaxed environment with plenty of seating to sit and taste or stand at the counter as we generally prefer. THEWINES: We tasted the following 8 wines, out of which we liked 5 enough to purchase. ’12 Chardonnay, SB ’12 Pinot Noir, SLO ’10 Pinot Noir, SLO ’13 Syrah, Paso Robles ’13 Marvel Cuvee(Syrah, Cab Sauv, Merlot) ’12 Merlot, Paso Robles ’11 Cab Sauv, Paso Robles ’13 Meritage Bordeaux(Merlot, Cab Sauv, Cab Franc) THEPURCHASE: Chardonnay, ’12 Pinot Noir, Cab Sauv and Marvel Cuvee RECOMMENDATION: All in our group agreed that this is a nice winery to come relax and taste before you buy. Plan on going home with a few bottles as there is something that should interest you in their wide selection. Great place for couples, singles or girls night out.

Loved this small boutique wine tasting room! The host was extremely friendly and if you check in with Unilocal you get an extra taster! I loved the Pinot noir 2012! Definitely a hidden gem that people need to come check out!

Outstanding hidden gem of a tasting room serving up tasty reds. Staff was very friendly and won’t pressure you to buy if you are mainly there to taste(which makes me actually want to buy and keep coming back). When you can’t escape to wine country, this the delicious local answer. Discovered via groupon type deal.

Summary: A cute little tasting area in the back, friendly staff, affordable wines(25% off for members), and some good quality options. Mostly reds, but a couple of Chardonnays available. BOGO tasting discounts available. I went here on a Saturday afternoon with my Mom and wife at about 4pm. When we arrived, there were no other people present other than the server. She told us that it had been pretty slow so far and they closed at 5pm, so it was unlikely to get many more people between now and then. She explained that the usual tasting flights involved 6 tastes, but because things were slow she said she would let us go through the full set of 8 available that day. We started with a stainless steel Chardonnay that was light and fruity, but not too crisp. It was actually pretty smooth and enjoyable despite our natural preference for oak-aged chards. We then tried an oak and steel Chardonnay, which wasn’t as much to our liking, when another couple arrived. They got seated at a table and started their tasting while we continued ours, then another 3 people arrived. A little bit after that, another couple arrived, too. Apparently, people like to come to taste after 4pm because now it was bustling and our server was jumping from table to table(and handling the crowd rather well). She continued us along our tasting as we tried a Pinot Noir, a two Cabernet Sauvignons, a Marvel Cuvee, and two Syrahs. By far, our favorites were the Cuvee and two Syrahs. The Cuvee was big and full bodied, but super smooth. Fantastic. The first Syrah was their highest alcohol content wine(at a whopping 15.9%) and was probably the biggest Syrah we had ever tasted. It had a minor burn from the alcohol, but otherwise was also incredibly smooth and delicious. The last Syrah followed similarly and was excellent with a little less burn and a little more tannin. After we finished up, we had to procure a bottle of each of the last three wines(the average was ~$ 20-$ 25 for each). I must say, this place is awesome for its convenience of location. It’s nice to see options popping up in the OC instead of having to trek to Temecula for some good tasting. We’ll likely come back and I recommend you come check the place out before too many people discover this hidden gem :)
