I had the best massage at this spa that I’ve ever had. I had signature massage and«fassage» with Luann who was wonderful. Highly recommended. There’s a relaxation room that views the ocean that’s absolutely awesome.

This spa is amazing and I would have to say the best massage ever. Pua gave the massage(hoping I spelled her name correctly) and it was wonderful. I have had massages back home in CA and nothing even compares. Well worth the experience and would recommend this to anyone who is looking for more than a mediocre massage. Pua is great! A++

I’ve been coming to the Hyatt spa, formerly known as Spa Moana, for over a decade and upon returning to Maui this year I was greatly anticipating my day of R&R at one of my favorite spas. When I went to book my massage, I was taken back by the name and wondered if I had the wrong spa when attempting to make my reservation online. I almost didn’t end up here for fear that the spa I once loved had been changed dramatically. I ended up walking down to the spa and happily saw that albeit the cheesy new name, the removal of the Epicuren products(boo!) and the stark white and red and way too modern for my taste, décor, at the front of the spa, that the inside of the actual spa had not changed at all. There was still the beautiful and tranquil sitting room with the view of the ocean and the mosaic tiled spa tub that I loved was still just the same. I signed myself up for the«Marilyn Signature Massage», which offered organic oils(with or without scent, lavender, citrus or rose hip) and a customized pressure option. I was also able to add in for $ 20 more an option of hot stones to this massage. I chose the rose hip oil and this made for one of the most fantastic massage combinations I’ve ever had. More importantly, there was Luanne. Luanne was absolutely unbelievable! I had probably the single best massage I have ever had in my life and I’ve been to some pretty amazing spas throughout the world. I will be dreaming about this massage and can’t wait to come back next year. I only hope that Luanne will still be here.

I had a volcanic body wrap with Brenda and it was one of the best spa experiences I’ve had. She was extremely skilled at making sure nothing shows throughout the treatment and more importantly her hands worked magic on the skin she touched. There is a face, scalp and foot massage in addition to hot rocks strategically placed during the spa session. Take advantage of the spa extras like a whirlpool, steam room and sauna. Bottom line, you made it to Hawaii, you are in Maui, treat yourself to this experience.

I had booked, three weeks in advance, for a couples suite overlooking Kaanapali Bay. Everything was confirmed in writing. The day before our massages were to take place, the spa called me and advised that«due to renovations» the couples suite overlooking the bay was not available, but they could book us in another couples suite(closed room). Not what I wanted, but I said OK. They called back again, and said that room would be «too noisy» due to the treatment room next to it, so we could have private rooms(no view).(They did offer the oceanside massage, but we did not want to have to wear bathing suits and get the oil all over them.) I told them fine we would to the private rooms, but I was not happy with all the changes, and why didn’t they know about the renovations at the time I booked? No response. I asked that they relay my message to the manager, and they said that they would. After thinking about it, I was just ticked off. We had wanted a nice relaxing day at the spa and lunch at the hotel, and I was not getting what I had asked for. Looked into another spa, and made an appointment for massage there, since we were just going to(now) get a massage, and not everything we initially asked for at the Marilyn Monroe spa. I called back and cancelled and told them why I was cancelling, and to please relay that info to the manager. Response: «OK». No call back, nothing, nada. I went into their website upon our return home, and sent a message to them again, explaining my disappointment, and that they should have known about the renovations in advance, or had a «do not book this room after date» note due to the renovations. I have not heard back from them, and even though others have posted glowing reviews, I give them only 1 star for VERY poor customer service. I am happy to report that the Spa has now contacted me, and has offered complimentary massages in their Monterey, CA facility. I will be taking them up on this offer as soon as I determine dates. The rep that called me was definitely much more apologetic and totally understood why I was so upset. I have upgraded my review from one to four stars, based on the reactive customer service.

I had a truly wonderful experience at this spa due(in large part) to the extraordinary talent of massage therapist Leo. Arriving at the hotel, it was just a bit tricky to find the spa, as the hotel is under construction. I mention this so that you leave a bit of extra time to arrive. You’ll want to have extra time anyway, because the facilities are lovely with steam rooms and hot tub. After relaxing there, I met Leo and was in for such a treat. He practices Lomi Lomi, a Hawaiaan massage style that is deep, relaxing and quite something. I’ve been receiving massages for 30 years, and I rank his skills among the top 3 therapists I’ve seen — on par with Esalen massage in Big Sur. After the massage, I could sit and relax in a beautiful chaise lounge area looking out on the ocean. The rest of the staff was also terrific. Such a lovely experience!

This was the Spa Moana, name changed to Marilyn Monroe at the Hyatt. Desk staff was very nice at check in. Showed me around. Ladies locker room was very nice, with hot tub, sauna and showers. I was getting a 50 min Lomj-Lomj massage with paraffin treatment on hands and feet. While in the treatment waiting area I was informed the paraffin warmer was broken, they offered a foot scrub at no charge to make up for it. Nico was my masseuse, and my massage was EXCELLENT! I get massages often and I am picky ! They have a lounge room after your treatment that opens up to the beach, gorgeous view! It can be a little noisy because its right above a main walkway. The spa is small, but very clean and updated, very nice staff and great massage for me! Thanks Nico! You also get access to the spa facility all day after your treatment.
