I have been booking this trip for sometime, reason for choosing, he gives you a #1 one of a kind experiences that no other guides can or will give. This guy is no joke, you get a really quick and safe lesson on what to do, specially if you take it serious, you can be in the water within minutes. Lopaka is a great guy that took me, my friend, and the groomsmen on a private spear fishing tour out on the south side of Lahaina and had a fantastic time. Success rate was freaking awesome with over 60 fish caught within a 2hour trip. He provides all equipment and safe techniques that will keep you safe in the ocean while spear fishing. He stays with you in the water guides you to fish locations, teaches you while I’m the water, assists you with pretty much anything if you want or need the help/​assistance. When I go back to Maui I will see Lopaka again. But this time it will be for his boar hunting adventure.

Lopaka was one of the best guides I have ever experienced! He took me out spear fishing and it was amazing! Not only did I see a ton of fish but also Lopaka was very intelligent about spear fishing and taught me a lot of cool tricks! Not to mention he was really fun to hangout with! I highly recommend this hunting trip! Thanks for everything Lopaka can’t wait to spear fish again!

Went out to Maui Hawaii to visit my brother and his family over Thanksgiving. We talked about going Boar hunting but were experiencing difficulties getting a guide. Heard nothing but good things about Lopaka and his business so we booked it. Met Lopaka, he outfitted us with everything we needed (shirts, boots, lunch, breakfast, waters, backpacks, etc.), met the pups (super friendly and great hunters), and we were off.
We had a beautiful cruise to Lopaka’s favorite hunting areas through the jungle. Hiked in about 2 – 3 miles, stopping every once and awhile when the dogs caught a whiff. We crossed a river and the most experienced dog Nakita disappeared (great sign when she was nowhere to be seen, she was good). Soon after Lopaka stops us and we hear Nakita about 50yds away wrestling with something big! Lopaka starts booking it and me and my brother are right behind. We come to this opening to find Nakita holding onto a 150lb black boar by the nose. Lopaka gets to work and my brother, being his birthday, takes the kill «Hawaiian style» (with a knife). Most intense and personal hunting I’ve experienced.
We want one each so the hunt continues… An hour later and about 2 more miles into the bush, Nakita is gone! Seconds later we hear the distinct sound of Nakita wrestling with a boar! This time shes 50yds away at a 75 degree up. Its takes us sometime but when we get there we find another health Boar and this time I get the honors!
After that Lopaka cut it up for us and sent us home with what we could afford to take. We also arranged to have Lopaka get the head Euro’ed which is not something he normally does. I mention that because this was one of many things Lopaka did that contributed to making this a unforgettable trip! Thanks Lopaka! Lopaka took us out spear fishing today and it was a blast! It was my first time trying it but after a quick lesson we were able to snorkel out and catch lots of cool fish! We saw some cool sea turtles along the swim which was super cool! Thanks so much Paka, we’ll definitely be back!!!
