This great place closes its doors on July 1st2010 but they move and change their name to Lahaina sports bar at the Old Lahaina shopping. They still have a mixture of Asian fusion sports bar entrée delights. All the locals follow them to the new place only sports bar in town with complete Airconditioning, free WiFi and free parking. They have a dozen HDTV and every sport package that a sports fan would want. They won the late night dining award 3 years in a row since they served food till 1:30am. You should try some of their local favorites like the Hawaiian oxtail soup and the local mocal fried rice. The Only place in maui you can get tatot tot nachos«TACHOS» or their famous garlic, butter salt and pepper chicken wings. e If you’re looking for a place where all the locals hang out this would be the one. They still have the best pool table and quality pool sticks in town and the only bar in town with music video jukebox where you can play any music video of your choice that goes on a 80 inch TV screen.

Sadly has been closed for years. But spankys is a decent replacement. Check lahaina sports bar for the old bamboos feel.

Spent a couple of months on Maui. Always had fun nights at Bamboo — small but fun. One pool table. Good bartenders and cocktails. Lots of locals.

This place caters more to the locals than tourists. Down the road and outside of the Front St action zone(at 505) it is reasonably priced. It is an odd mix of a bar with pool table, Thai & Vietnamese restaurant, and a sushi bar. A lot of folks swear by the Bamboo, and with fair pricing, it is definitely worth checking out if you’re spending time in Lahaina and care about how much bank you drop.

The drinks were great and prices were fabulous for Maui. The service was fantastic. We decided to get some Tai food while there and it was pretty good. We had spring rolls that were delish and had Tai Chicken with peanut sauce… it was all pretty good for a last minute meal. I had there dark beer on tap and loved it. I don’t even drink dark beer. Overall a cool place to hang out with the locals. Pool table as well. Lots of drink specials.

Living in the Bay Area, I’ve gotten used to really good thai food. But even if I wasn’t used to the good stuff, I wouldn’t have liked this place much. I probably shouldn’t have expected much at a Thai restaurant that’s just an annexed part of a plain old american bar. The table was sticky, and the food was just, kind of, nothing. Not good or bad. Or memorable. It’s just a place with average food and no ambiance to make up for it.

Total diasppointment. Sick of Hawaiian/American and decided to find a Thai restaurant and came here. Ordered the Pad Thai and Basil Chicken. Yuck. Pad Thai didn’t taste like Pad Thai. it was made of Chow Fun noodles and had a heavy sauce. Basil Chicken was not ground chicken like it’s supposed to be made of, but was strips of chicken instead. Weird atmosphere with a bar, thai food, vietnamese food and a sushi bar. Was a nightmare. I actually ran out after two bites, but I did leave money on the table. If you know Thai food, do not come here!

We ate this place alot on our vacation because our hotel was right next door. We usually had the breakfast there which was ok. There was 1 server there who wasn’t our favorite but all the other were very nice and we didn’t mind waiting on them one bit. We mostly ate breakfast there but had Thai once. Thai was pretty good. had the salad rolls and the pad thai noodles. both were very good. The peanut sauce was different and very tasty!

We would have never heard of this place if it hadn’t been for the Unilocal reviews. It IS on Front Street, which is the main drag in Lahaina, but it’s about a 10 – 15 minute walk up the street away from the«main» part of town. But it’s well worth the trek! They have two of those computer bar games that we like to play, the service was excellent, and the place wasn’t full of tourists. And hey! It was good exercise finding the bar! We’ll definitely be back!

Unexpected gem! It’s a bar, a grill and a little sushi joint. My husband and I were staying next door at the Lahaina Shores Resort and went in to the bamboo grill for a drink on our first night in Maui. I thought I food looked good(from what others were ordering) but he wasn’t convinced it would be good any good. The second night I was craving some thai food so decided to dare it and went in to grab a bite. Everything we ordered(my tom yum, tofu and eggplant stirfry, hubby’s mahi claypot) was really good! and I was surprised that the asian lady who took our order took me seriously when I asked my food to be spicy because I can assure it was«thai spicy». I now live in the bay area and have lived in Bangkok in the past so take my thai food seriously :) — note: however this not an extensive thai menu, it’s a mish mash of Thai & Vietnamese mostly… All in all a great quick meal that perfect to satisfying your asian food cravings particularly in a place like Front St Lahaina where it’s hard to find that…
